“So…what do you think?”
He was anxious. Heart pounding. Palms sweaty.
“About what?”
Slowly he let out a breath, long and shaky.
“What-what I told you.”
And now he was regretting everything. It had been a mistake to share this. Why had he done that? No good ever came from sharing his feelings.
“Jim.”
He realized he was looking at the ground, dejected and ashamed.
“Jim.”
He lifted his gaze and stared into dark eyes that were surprisingly warm.
Spock lifted his hand to Jim’s, touching their palms together.
“I think…it is about time.”

ABOUT WHAT?????? Spock, why do you seem to enjoy torturing Jim so much??? He HAS to know “about what.” I think Jim might want to use some of those colorful metaphors….or maybe some of Bones’ colorful language.
This was great. But I think my reaction to these explains something to me as to why I am overweight. I like quantity in my desserts!
Maybe you will teach me patience and moderation in all things.

I *think* they are supposed to be a whole story in those 100 words and most of mine are just “snippets” of what could definitely be a larger story so in that way I don’t think I am doing the way I am supposed to!

I actually disagree. I think so far each of these IS a full story. I mean, you’re very limited on words. Or at least, I get a completed feel with each. I’m thinking probably all of the drabbles out there could be expanded into a larger story. I think maybe, because you’re the author and very close to it and your mind is thinking of all the aspects around those 100 words, all the ways you COULD have gone with them, you might not realize what a wallop you pack into these few words. If you stepped back and read them NOT considering all the creative process and rabbit chasing you have to pare down, you might see them as I do, as we do, knowing none of the side story.
I think they’re spot on.
Or at least they are the way I see them.
