All right this weeks’s updates are bound to be My Devotion, Anything and Where My Demons Hide. Those are the last ones left updated in September. Then up after that will be Didn’t We Almost Have it All and Turning Page. Those might be pushed out to the next week. We shall see.
I took the weekend off from posting because…well I wanted to. I didn’t really do much ofΒ anything but watch stupid shit and do laundry and a little cleaning. Playing some games. Pretty much lazy stuff.
For the last 10 years we’ve lived in this town home we don’t really get trick or treaters on Halloween. We always buy candy and no one comes. I think it will be the same this year! Ah well. It’s just not the same as when I was a kid.
At work, we are having a pizza party that day as well as trick or treating. Should be fun.

Looking forward to your updates this week!
I love lazy weekends. Was able to have one with Grammy going to work. I didn’t clean but I wrote, watched Stranger Things, and carved the pumpkins.
I do hope you get some trick-or-treaters this year!
So you get to go trick-or-treating at work? That sounds fun! Are you dressing up?? π

LOL no I am not. But yes. Everyone brings in candy and you go to each desk and get some. It’s fun.

Yay updates!! Iβm really looking forward to those.
We hardly get an trick or treaters either. Me? I like it that way. But it surly is different than when I was a kid. (But then again, you know Halloween isnβt my thing)
Though yay for a little celebration at work. Pizza!

Glad you had a restful weekend. I think after finding the heating pad yesterday, I’ll be able to function this week! Where I live now, I have no external door and only residents have keys to open the external main doors. So I won’t have any T/Ters either. But I never did at the lake, either. The houses were too far apart, and the churches all have festivals with lots of candy around that time anyway. I’m giddy like Christmas for an MD update being first! Now I can just run by at lunch and read .
I’ve discovered that moving and opening tubs is also like Christmas. The few I went through searching for other stuff had me saying, “Oh, I didn’t remember I had that!” haha Of course, senility is like that too. Every day is an adventure.
Shut up! I mean, someday it will be!

Now now don’t get ahead of yourself. You aren’t senile yet. Oh wait. No. I meant to say I don’t know if I will have the update to MD done today so don’t get too excited!

I’m off Halloween night so I’ll see the truck-or-treaters going around. Some of the local kids have aged out, but at its height we’d get 100 kids at our door… I know because we made goody bags and would run out. I have no other plans for the night. No parties! π¦
My 19 daughter took Amtrak to Philadelphia to met her college roommate from last year (and a friend of hers) and the three of them went to 5 Halloween parties over Friday and Saturday nights dressed as the Droog’s from Clockwork Orange. Oh to be young again!

Now see that is more like the trick or treating I remember as a kid. I used to take a pillow case around. I used to have parties but no one would ever show up so I gave up on those. Ugh! Clockwork Orange. So disturbing!

My 2nd year in college, I lived in that mobile home park I told you about. I had the Disney album of scary movie themes piping out the window. I dressed up as a witch.
Scared the little kids so much they wouldn’t come to the door! π¦ It was no time at all before the entire neighborhood believed a real witch lived there! (Just don’t ask my ex husband – he’s probably the one who started the rumor! ha)
So I went up to the fine arts building and got everybody to come over and party! Well, party the way Christian conservative vocal performance majors do. Cause almost everyone was – many were music directors at churches already, and I was a church pianist. (I know – those church pianists – you gotta watch ’em! They’re wild! And obviously they’ll say anything.)
That was the year that new Bread album with the new Amarillo Air Terminal pics on the inside cover came out. We played it and of course all those vocal majors had to sing along. I loved it.

It’s a shame we really can’t go home again as it were. I think that was definitely a metaphor for days we all remember fondly. You can’t go back in time. There are, of course, things we’d never want to repeat again, but so many things we wish we could. My childhood Halloween is definitely one of them. Kids these days, they just don’t know, and it’s sad. My dad used to take me and my friends all around the neighborhoods and it was such fun. Until one day my dad fell down the steps as he was preparing to take us. He was okay but in no mood to take us anymore. So my older sister did and it wasn’t the same. When we became teenagers and lived in a different neighborhood we went on our own but my friend’s dad followed us to make sure we were okay. We didn’t even know until we got back to the house and her mom told us, lol. Life goes on, of course, and the march of time takes its toll, but damn those were good days.

I really miss trick-or-treating. In VA, mom or Grammy would walk us around our neighborhood which wasn’t that big and then drive us over to our babysitters neighborhood to continue trick-or-treating. I dressed as a ninja for so many years π When we lived in SC, we lived in a huge neighborhood and my sister and I could walk it by ourselves. Some of the bigger (more expensive) houses gave out the best treats like full size bars and sodas LOL We’d come home with our bags or plastic pumpkins spilling over. As a teen I finally made a best female friend after years of only guy friends. I spent the night at her house one Halloween and her parents let us walk around her neighborhood with her sister. Had such a blast even though my costume was a poorly put together hobo clown thing LOL
I wish I could still trick-or-treat or even go to a fun costume party. My friend used to have one when we were just out of high school but she hasn’t had one in about four/five years π¦ I really just want to dress up again and hang out with my friends.
