At least he’s growing hair back! The stupid beard, though, too LOL
Weekend was pretty chill. I spent most of it not doing anything, really, and that was fine with me. I did do a few chores like laundry that can’t really be put off.
The next two weekends include required social functions so it was nice to have this lull.
I looked at the calendar today and realized it’s only six weeks until my Yellowstone trip. I’ll be incommunicado for the most part from June 11-June 18. We fly out the morning of June 11 and fly home the evening of June 18. I bought the flights a week or so ago and damn they were expensive. You gotta connect too in other cities. On the way we connect through Denver and on the way back we connect through Salt Lake. The airport nearest our destination is Bozeman. Anyway, I know it will be here before I know it.
Over the weekend I chose to delete a work in progress on AO3. The plain truth was I didn’t feel like working on it at present and since it hasn’t garnered much attention, including from the individual who asked me to write it, I decided to delete it. I’ve saved a copy of it in case I ever get back to it, but there are no guarantees. It’s never a good feeling to delete something that some readers may have enjoyed and been following, but bottom line, I needed to do this for myself.
This week I will be updating Dating a Vulcan and Young and Beautiful . I am not sure about anything else since I have decided to slow down on my updating whenever I can. I have other obligations after all. I might get the next chapter of What Happened to Spock done but there are no guarantees.
As usual we seemed to have skipped over Spring and gone straight to Summer. It’s hot here already. There are rumors that next week may not be as hot but I don’t believe it. May is typically warm here.
I’ve watched numerous episodes of a murder mystery series that originated in Great Britain many years ago now. Midsummer Murders. The first six seasons are my favorite because I absolutely adore the incredibly adorable Sergeant from those seasons that assists the Chief Inspector. My friend, Kris, is right there with me. Anyway, I recently decided to re-watch his episodes because I honestly think he’s one of my favorite characters ever and he’s cute besides, so, lol, anyway. He had my favorite line of the week.
In an episode about an old folk’s home, he, Troy, is talking with his boss, the chief inspector, Barnaby.
Troy: Who would want to be 89?
Barnaby: Someone who’s 88.

Troooooooy!! *heart eyes*
I can’t believe Yellowstone is creeping up so fast! I’m sure it’s going to be amazing for you. I can’t wait to hear about it.
Deleting the work was the right thing to do for you for now. Maybe that’ll change but if it doesn’t, that’s okay too.
But! I am looking forward to what you are going to update. 😀

Truth or Consequences. The one where Jim was accused of rape and murder of an ensign from his crew. Even after 3 chapters it had hardly any hits or kudos etc. And I just didn’t know what direction to take with it.

Darn that beard LOL he’s still pretty
So jelly about your trip to Yellowstone. I would love to see their wolf preservation. I know you’ll have a fun time. Plane tickets, yes very expensive—partly the reason I don’t want to go visit my friend in Oklahoma or Arkansas where they might be moving too—the other part is that I don’t want to go back to OK or Arkansas.
Completely understand the reasons for deleting a story. Looking forward to the stories you update this week 😊
It has skipped Spring here as well. Its been in the 80s for about a week.

I am more accepting of his facial hair when his hair is short. I’m starting to wonder if it’s really that I don’t like the “look” or if all of it makes him seem older, daddy-ish (for lack of a better word). As you well know my preference is for a young, smart brash Jim with a tendency/need to be taken care of for his emotional psyche. It’s definitely a kink. I totally recognize/get that. So I wonder if the fact that Chris is getting older, changing and straying from my mental ideal makes me go, ugh, not a good look. But then invariably he shaves and has big watery eyes and I swoon and of course I’ll never stop loving him, LOL.
(I’m probably over thinking it all.) You know he was very dirty and different in hell or High Water but his emotional shit still got laid bare. I think him becoming raw with a character on screen is his natural state. It’s his sweet spot. Doesn’t really matter who he plays. They end up being vulnerable to us. I get sucked right in. Whoo boy, do I.

I don’t mind it when he has a little scruff, a five o’clock shadow, that’s kind of sexy, but I don’t like the full beard. And I prefer him all clean and beautiful because to me the beard is away to hide himself. He was dirty in Hell or High Water but I loved him in it anyway. He’s gorgeous to me no matter what but I definitely have my preferences. I tell you though I would love to have the job of the old guy with him, being his handler etc. I could totally go for that! HA

I can understand why you chose to delete a work in progress. I have not dome that “yet” but known some authors to delete chapters they were not pleased in the direction the story was taking.
That being said, I believe your readers will still prove a strong following of you as a writer. You can’t shake me off the “Ivan” tree buddy! I admire you and your work too much to allow a deleted work to affect my impression of you as an author.
Wishing you and Milo a great time in Yellowstone, I wish I could see Wolf preservation site. I am very much into nature and I know that the wold’s decline in that area has changed much in part to the Wold Restoration project there.
Now about Chris and that beard, I wish he would get rid of it, but I imagine it must be easier to let it grow than maintain a clean shaved look. What do I know, I am not a man thought some days I wish I was.
