Recently I helped my friend, AppreciativeOne (JJ on here) with her work on AO3, Shore Leave: Irongate Wilderness. I guest wrote her most recent chapter, 6, if you want to check it out.

Another busy week for me.
Tonight is the Queen + Adam Lambert Concert at the Hollywood Bowl
Tomorrow we are going to see Cars 3.
Then Friday is a birthday party dinner for a relative. Then of course after that comes the 4th of July thing. The 4th decided to be on a Tuesday this year and my company decided only to give us that day off even though M has Monday the 3rd off and so does a couple of our friends. And they all work in the same industry as I do. Nuts!
One of the cities around us does their fireworks on the 3rd. I have no idea why, they just always have. This is where M’s cousin lives so that Monday night, we will be headed over to her place to BBQ and watch the works from her driveway on a hill.
Then more family and fireworks on the actual 4th! Too much! HA HA
I am supposed to be updating What Happened to Spock next and I hope to get to it soon but I’d actually also like to update You’re in My Veins. I plan to, hopefully, conclude Forever I Am With You by the end of July.
And nothing is better on a Monday than a pretty picture of Chris

I managed to get When it Began finished this past week. Since I started a new fic, Unbonded, I thought I needed to get something done. Only fair. Unbonded was another one that I thought of as a short one-shot and it started building in my head and I decided to make it a new one.
On the update next list is For the First Time in My Life I was Happy, Where My Demons Hide, Who’s the Daddy, and You are the Light Who’s Leading Me. Those are the ones that I haven’t updated since April. Hopefully I can get an update up for each of them before I go on my trip and will be incommunicado.
This is up one day early because I plan to be pretty busy tomorrow with laundry in the morning and family thing in the afternoon.
I can’t believe how fast my trip is coming up. I don’t even know how I will pay for it. I have a little bit of stock. I might have to sell it.
Also coming up fast are two other things in June. On June 25, my Th’y’la Bang Story is supposed to be posted. All I can say is never again. I have my reasons but I will not say here. I am very pleased with the story and excited for everyone to read it. But this is going to be my one and only year, so enjoy it.
And the other is June 26, is when I go to the Hollywood Bowl and see Queen with Adam Lambert. There are eight of us going.
That’s about all I have for now. See you around
And a pretty picture

Friday night we went over to the cousin’s place for dinner and a fire in her backyard fire pit afterward. I drank a little wine and forced myself to socialize.
Saturday, we went to breakfast and then I spent most of the rest of the day doing whatever I wanted. We did get a new exercise bike and I have started that, I need to do something!
In fact, the SO is going vegan. I am not, but I am changing a few things.
Sunday was another nice day, though I did do laundry and went to the grocery store.
This coming weekend is Memorial Day Weekend and I am looking forward to that greatly. I think we may be seeing King Arthur this Tuesday.
To be updated next is still Anything, When I Began, and When I Fall in Love. I haven’t worked on any of them so who knows!
Chris has been looking good as he’s been doing his Wonder Woman publicity stuff so I leave you with this.

Managed to get the next chapter of My Devotion up just this morning. I started it on Friday but couldn’t get it done before today. So that’s a good thing to begin the week with.
I plan to update and finish You Were Meant for Me by this coming weekend. Will Spock redeem himself? That remains to be seen.
On Friday will be the conclusion of last week’s flash fic where are One True Pair broke up.
Had a busy weekend of socializing. Went to a sort of party on Saturday but we were the only ones who showed up. We ended up drinking wine and eating pizza and spending way too much time there.
Yesterday was a family BBQ for Mother’s Day and though we sat outside, it was too cold to actually swim in the pool. Usually it’s warm on Mother’s Day but not this year. But apparently next weekend we hit back in the 90s.
I think I may be made to go to a retirement thing tonight for our mechanic who retired and sold the business. I don’t want to go, but I think the mister does and is pushing it.
This weekend coming up I have no social obligations so I meant to lay around all lazy like. I shall be a Carpathian Prince.
Today’s prompt was Hurt/Comfort.

It was a day like any other and it was stupid to think or feel otherwise. There was nothing special about it. Okay, well, there was to Jim. But not to anyone else. And most especially not Spock. In fact he’d think it was absurdly illogical for Jim to put any importance on it at all.
So Jim had vowed to keep his remembrance of what day it was completely to himself. Silently he held a little reverence for it but that was it.
And anyway, as days went, it ended up pretty much sucking.
He’d been sitting on the bridge for a couple of hours before he first started feeling horrible. It started out with his stomach twisting painfully and then turned into a terrible nausciousness. By the time Bones notified him that Ensign Martell had brought back the Dorivian Flu from shore leave, Jim knew he was in trouble.
He’d tried to ignore his ever worsening condition. Tried to hide it from those around him. But of course he couldn’t fool his first officer.
“Captain.”
Jim blinked rapidly and barely resisted running his hand over his face. He licked his lips. “Yeah?”
“You are ill.”
“No. No. No. I’m fine.”
Spock arched a brow. “You most certainly are not.”
“Seriously, babe, I’m fine.” Jim winced. He never called Spock an endearment on the bridge and Spock knew it.
Spock hit the comm. “Spock to sickbay.”
“McCoy here.”
“The captain has the flu.”
“I do not,” Jim protested.
“Bring the idiot here. McCoy out.”
Jim sighed and stood up and immediately fell into his first officer’s arms.
****
“You’re an idiot,” Bones grumbled as he helped Jim into his bed in his quarters.
“Yeah, yeah.”
“You should have reported feeling sick earlier. Now I don’t have any beds.”
“Suits me fine, I don’t wanna lie around the morgue.”
“It’s sickbay.”
Jim made a face as Bones fluffed up his pillows and pushed him against them. “Same thing.”
“Not at all.” Bones stood back, hands on his hips. “I think you’ll live.”
“This isn’t going to infect Spock, is it?”
“Nah, they’re practically immune to everything. He’ll be fine. And it’s not like he’d stay away from you even if I told him to.”
Jim smiled faintly. Even now he could feel a slight warm buzz in the back of his mind where his bond with Spock was.
“Spit it out.”
“What?”
“You look all mopey.”
Jim scowled. “I’m sick.”
“Yeah, I know. But there’s something else.” Bones give him his best sympathetic look, which, of course, worked every time.
“It’s stupid,” Jim admitted.
“I’m sure it is. But what?”
Jim stuck his mottled tongue out at Bones. “Today’s…our anniversary.”
Bones frowned. “What anniversary? You only got bonded three months ago.”
“Not that. Um. It was a year ago, um, you know.”
“What?”
“Bones.” Jim gritted his teeth. “The first time.”
“The first time what?”
Jim made a strangled noise.
Bones laughed. “I totally knew what you meant. I was playing with you.”
“Fucker.”
“Sorry to spoil your fun, Jim, but no sex today. Probably not for a week or so.”
“A week?”
“Believe me, you won’t even want it.”
The door to his quarters opened and Spock stepped in.
“Your shift over?” Jim asked.
“Indeed.” His gaze flicked to Bones.
“Yeah, he’s fine. I was just leaving. Bed rest, Jim, for forty eight hours. Seventy two off duty.”
“Seriously?”
“Don’t I look serious?” Bones walked out without another word.
Jim pouted. Spock didn’t seem to notice. He walked up to the top of the bed and re-fluffed Jim’s pillows the way he liked them fluffed.
“Thanks, babe,” Jim said with a smile.
“You are very pale.”
“I feel like crap,” Jim admitted.
“You should not have waited to advise me of your difficulties.”
There was definitely admonishment there.
“It came on all of a sudden.” Jim sighed. “I never really had much contact with Martell.”
“You are sensitive to any ailments or allergens. He was probably on the same deck as you.”
“Funny.” Jim huffed.
“Are you hungry, ashayam?”
“A little I guess. Bones says I can have broth.”
Spock nodded. “I am aware. He sent me a list of limitations.” Spock went and fetched him broth from the replicator and then returned with it.
Vegetable broth, Jim noted dryly.
Spock sat on the edge of the bed. “You are agitated.”
“Well.” Jim shrugged as he took a sip of the broth. “I hate being incapacitated.”
“I know.” Spock reached for Jim’s hand. “And on our anniversary.”
Jim’s eyes widened. “You-you know about that?”
“We share our minds, ashal-veh,” Spock reminded him gently. “But you are correct.”
“About?”
“You are illogical.”
Jim laughed. “I love you so much.”
Spock’s lips curved ever so slightly. “I reciprocate.”

At least he’s growing hair back! The stupid beard, though, too LOL
Weekend was pretty chill. I spent most of it not doing anything, really, and that was fine with me. I did do a few chores like laundry that can’t really be put off.
The next two weekends include required social functions so it was nice to have this lull.
I looked at the calendar today and realized it’s only six weeks until my Yellowstone trip. I’ll be incommunicado for the most part from June 11-June 18. We fly out the morning of June 11 and fly home the evening of June 18. I bought the flights a week or so ago and damn they were expensive. You gotta connect too in other cities. On the way we connect through Denver and on the way back we connect through Salt Lake. The airport nearest our destination is Bozeman. Anyway, I know it will be here before I know it.
Over the weekend I chose to delete a work in progress on AO3. The plain truth was I didn’t feel like working on it at present and since it hasn’t garnered much attention, including from the individual who asked me to write it, I decided to delete it. I’ve saved a copy of it in case I ever get back to it, but there are no guarantees. It’s never a good feeling to delete something that some readers may have enjoyed and been following, but bottom line, I needed to do this for myself.
This week I will be updating Dating a Vulcan and Young and Beautiful . I am not sure about anything else since I have decided to slow down on my updating whenever I can. I have other obligations after all. I might get the next chapter of What Happened to Spock done but there are no guarantees.
As usual we seemed to have skipped over Spring and gone straight to Summer. It’s hot here already. There are rumors that next week may not be as hot but I don’t believe it. May is typically warm here.
I’ve watched numerous episodes of a murder mystery series that originated in Great Britain many years ago now. Midsummer Murders. The first six seasons are my favorite because I absolutely adore the incredibly adorable Sergeant from those seasons that assists the Chief Inspector. My friend, Kris, is right there with me. Anyway, I recently decided to re-watch his episodes because I honestly think he’s one of my favorite characters ever and he’s cute besides, so, lol, anyway. He had my favorite line of the week.
In an episode about an old folk’s home, he, Troy, is talking with his boss, the chief inspector, Barnaby.
Troy: Who would want to be 89?
Barnaby: Someone who’s 88.
Prompt was an incorrect star chart and a clandestine kiss.

“Okay, where the hell are we exactly?”
“I don’t know, Keptin. Ze planet is supposed to be here according to the latest star charts.”
Jim looked down at Chekov’s screen. He was at the science station in place of Spock, who was currently taking leave on New Vulcan.
“What about the coordinates?” Jim demanded.
“They match too, Captain,” Sulu said from his station. “But the planet’s not here.”
Jim returned to his captain’s chair. “Any signs of an explosion or debris?”
“No, sir.”
“Lieutenant Uhura, any records of distress signals?”
“No, Captain.”
“Report this to Starfleet and ask them what our orders are.”
“Aye, sir.”
Jim took his seat. They were supposed to search for a class M planet that had been reported by and charted by a freighter for further exploration. Only when they arrived, it hadn’t been there.
They were already late returning to New Vulcan for his first officer. And Jim was getting a headache. And speaking of headaches.
The doors on to the bridge opened behind him and Bones stepped out and over to his chair.
“Jim, you’re late for your physical.”
“We’re looking for a planet, Bones.”
“Yeah, we’re always looking for a planet. That’s why we’re out here. That’s no excuse.”
“Not now, Bones. This is important.”
“It’s always important.”
“Captain?”
Jim rose from his chair and went over to Uhura.
“Turns out the sector is wrong,” Uhura told him. She pointed to a new chart. “It’s over here.”
“That’s nowhere close to our current location.”
“Right. So we’ve been ordered to return to New Vulcan for Commander Spock and they’ll send the Constellation to investigate that planet.”
“The Constellation? They don’t know anything about—”
“Jim,” Bones said, waving a hypo.
Jim sighed. ”Fine. Thank you, Lieutenant. Mr. Sulu, change course for New Vulcan, warp three.”
“Aye, Captain.”
****
“Welcome back, Mr. Spock. How’s your dad?”
“Much improved, Captain,” Spock replied as they left the transporter room together. “It turned out not to be a serious illness.”
“Good. I’m glad.”
“Any problems while I was gone?”
“Nope. Just boring, routine stuff. Oh, and Bones made me do a physical.” Jim made a face.
“You were past due,” Spock said as they stepped onto the turbolift.
“Who’s side are you on?” Jim asked, grumpily.
“Yours.”
Suddenly Spock was pushing him against the bulkhead, covering Jim’s lips with his, Spock’s tongue slipping inside Jim’s mouth.
He groaned into the kiss, about read to crawl up his first officer when the turbolift doors opened on to the bridge.
Abruptly they parted and both stepped off the turbolift.
Uhura smiled at Spock, her eyes shining. “Welcome back.”
“Nyota.”
Jim went to his captain’s seat and sat down, ignoring their whispered voices. He smiled at Sulu. “Take us to Pyris VII, warp six.”
“Aye, Captain.”
Jim turned slightly in his chair to watch Spock go to his station. He touched his fingers to his lips and then turned back to the screen.
I’m going to get away from the stress of yesterday’s post today.
I have basically decided to do a story that I probably won’t be posting on AO3 (I never say never) because I don’t actually think it will have a lot of interest.
I intend to write this story for only a few select friends. Not because I am trying to exclude anyone, just because as I said, I don’t think the wider readership is there.
This week’s Flash Fic is the start of the story, but it is a very brief glimpse into the wider story. You can read the flash without reading the rest of the story. There’s nothing particularly untoward about that little scene.
Rather than have any of you who read this blog have to email me or ask on here what the story is about only to have you decide “no thanks” after I tell you, I’m going to tell you right here. If it interests you, when I have it completed, I will be sending out PDF’s of the completed story, likely with some kind of cover to be determined.
So without further ado and to stop being “mysterious”…
Jim and Spock will be cheating together, having wild sex at every opportunity and in all places, clandestine, while Spock is still with Uhura. In other words, Spock has not ended things with Uhura. This will be an exciting, forbidden thing for them for most of the story, until it reaches the conclusion it eventually does (remember I write Spirk, so you can probably imagine its ultimate ending).
So that’s it. Cheating isn’t everyone’s thing and since they do not immediately announce what they are doing to anyone, this is why I am choosing to go this route. I don’t feel like posting it anonymously on AO3, so you get this method, and it won’t be available until it is completely finished. Other than this week’s Flash Fic, it won’t be posted here, either, since it will involve graphic and frequent sex.
I already know my friend, Kris, is on board, but I thought I’d let you know here, in case anyone else might be.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
