Ramblings August 25, 2019

Happy 39th 08/26/2019

As some of you know, our garage was broken into on Friday while we were at work. The garage is separate from our townhome, fortunately, but they did take a few things, including an unopened portable AC, as well as breaking our garage door opener mechanism. We’d been delaying getting one of those new sliding metal garage doors and openers that most of our complex had, with us having the original wooden door, but looks like we are no longer able to delay that. It was a cost thing, but God or the burglar, made that decision for us. So this week we are dealing with getting estimates, HOA approval etc. We had a very nice police officer out Friday night, but he admitted there was little they could really do since there are no cameras and all that. I suspect that someone targeted the AC because nothing else of value was really taken. It was a break in, grab and go kind of thing. But definitely makes you disappointed in your fellow human beings.

In other news, we are still celebrating M’s birthday. We had a get together at a friend’s on Saturday and Sunday night it’s a dinner with the family at a nice restaurant. M’s birthday is actually Tuesday but it’s easier to celebrate on a weekend. Plus when we get home from work Tuesday, one of the garage door people will be by to give us an estimate on everything.

Coming up for updates this week should be The Fling, Stranded 3 and The Mysterious One. I love the flash coming on Friday very much. And I have a new flash series coming on Wednesday too.

This coming weekend in front of us is Labor Day, of course. We are going to the Hollywood Bowl Saturday the 31st for the John Williams Music thing. Should be fun. Then is the three day weekend! And September. Busy times, my friends.

Tomorrow is Chris Pine’s birthday, so I am including a fan video someone made a few years back. Fun!

Rambles for This Week 08/04/2019

Did update My Devotion. I still love that story so I’ll be continuing it for a while.

I haven’t written a word on Chapter 9 of I Will Follow You. I know what I want to do though, so that’s next because I need to get it scheduled for Wednesday.

After that, for this week, I am doing Didn’t We Almost Have it All and Orchestral Maneuvers. If I have the strength or time after those, The Space in My Bed.

That’s enough, I think.

I know I have other stories to update but I will get to those when I can! Promise.

Other than writing, just plugging along with writing, I’ve got work. Don’t know yet about a movie yet. It’s hot and ugly so it’s hard to be motivated to do much of anything else! Even go the movies and there’s not much out I want to see. And there’s lots to watch at home. I am sooo lazy!

An August Walk With Me

There will likely be another one later in August but here’s the one from today.

The Hot Zone! Ha, actually this was from work yesterday. It’s very hot there in August. Usually 90-100 every day. Which is why I call it Woodland Hells (it’s Hills). We move from this location in late September to another location in Woodland Hells.

Purple flowering bush in the park, sometimes there are rabbits hiding in there but I couldn’t find any this morning to take a picture of them. Rascally things.
The trees in the park are full and leafy now but come October, it should be a different story!
The playground is empty now, the families don’t come out this early, but I do because it’s going to be beastly hot later!

Brief Rambles

Lazy Luna

A few brief things. You may see a new color scheme on here. Not sure yet if I like it so I might change it again. Right now it looks…bloody.

I’ve written my first two song flash fics for September and scheduled them. Two left to go. For October I might do pumpkin/autumn/Halloween themed flashes, but don’t worry you scaredy cats, I’m not going to get too scary. After all, you may recall Professor Spock began on Halloween several years ago now.

Haven’t decided on November yet, but when I get to December, I bet you can guess what they will be related to! HA

I updated the Pinto story, Orchestral Maneuvers. Again, there’s a Pinto flash on Friday. I may just hit those other two song fics before tackling Transfer Request, so that’s liable to push that out until next week.

It’s 101 today. Yeah. So.

Next week begins August already, if you can believe it. I’ll try to do a walk with me for that month without dying from heatstroke, but I might actually change locations for it, so you can see something different.

Weekend Ramble July 20, 2019

Hello friends

I stalled a bit on All I Ever Wanted because of getting Our So-Called Life started again, but I still intend to get the last two chapters of this fic done this week. It’ll be good to have another story finish.

Once that is completed, I will be going back to Nine Lives and then Transfer Request. I don’t think I will be completing those, just updating them.

I don’t really remember but I thought last year at this time the coordinator who does the OMS challenge got in touch with people who do it or were interested or posted something about it in July and so far I haven’t heard anything about this year. So I wonder if that means it’s a no go or if I am mis-remembering! HA. If it is a go, I will probably put something together for the November posting.

Today isn’t supposed to be too hot here. I know it’s horrible right now in other parts of the country. Only 81 today. But then getting up into the 90s the rest of the week.

We get a free lunch today at the local seafood restaurant. I am excited! Because we are on their emailing list. So that’s something we are doing today. The rest of the weekend is just chill.

Ramblings (Best Laid Plans)

Last day of April already and soon we will be into the fifth month of the year.

Last night I fully intended to finish, when I got home from work, a flash fic I had been working on earlier in the day. I even sent it home to myself. Instead, I went up and got in bed and fell asleep. When I finally woke up, I took a shower, and then played a world building game for the rest of the time and never did turn to that fic.

I’ll work on it today at lunch but doubt it will get done. It’s going in the May 17th slot that I originally had another fic in. That flash is either getting moved to June or becoming its own fic because it’s definitely becoming a beast! HA. JJ’s idea was just too inspiring.

I’m seeing Captain Marvel tonight. I didn’t want to see it all that much but everyone else in our movie group did.

Tomorrow is Walk at Lunch Day at work and if you participate you get a free shirt or bag or something, so I think I am going to do that. I walk every day now anyway.

I thought about doing another update on My Devotion this week, but I don’t think I will after all.

A Bit of Rambling

So, as you know I did two updates for All I Ever Wanted yesterday. That was in anticipation of spending much of the rest of the week on flash fics through May.

I have May 3, 10, 24th, and 31st done now. I am about to tackle the one for May 17th, which is based on a suggestion JJ sent to me. Once again, thanks everyone for the suggestions they are extremely helpful. The 17th will be longer than typical and will be multiple parts. That’s why I got the flash done for the 24th and 31st as those were short! (And update: Yippee! All May flashes are now done. And Part 2 of the long flash will debut in June. Go me!)

This weekend, Saturday, my great niece Quinn turns 3 and so we are off to BFE for her birthday celebration. Her parents live like 2 hours away from us in good traffic at a place called Redlands. Her birthday is at some kiddie play gym thing where you have to wear socks inside and no shoes. We only have to be there a couple of hours but since it takes 2 to get there and 2 to get back, it’s a long ass day.

Tonight we are seeing Shazam. Looks cute so that should be fun. And that’s pretty much it for news here.

Rambles April 18 2019

Today is the last day of the week for me at work. I had to drive my own ass in today too because M gets off 2 hours early from his job since for them, tomorrow is a holiday. For me it’ s a vacation day.

Our plans are to sleep in, then go to breakfast. Then I need to make a trip to a candy store to finish off my Easter baskets. After that it’s home so that M can put our new light fixtures in our bathroom. The ones in there now over the vanities are original from when our townhome was built in the 1980s. They started going bad a while ago and now none of them work at all. They are all the same in our bathroom, the spare, and the one downstairs. We bought four new ones, two for our bathroom, and one each for the others as they all needed replacing. Anyway, wish us luck because obviously we are not electricians!

As you know, Sunday is Easter, and I’m going to the family’s that day. Not sure yet what my plans are for Saturday other than sleeping! Ha.

I updated My Heart’s a Virgin, so that’s something. I also got the first flash for May done. I’m hoping to get another flash for May done today. We’ll see how that goes. Next up in regular updates is still All I Ever Wanted. But I am in no real hurry to update it, so that’s a wait and see also.

And that’s basically where I am at right now. Hope everyone has a good weekend and Easter, etc.

Ramblings April 15, 2019

Hello friends

Last week’s flash fic was a Mirror flash. I do love to include those sometimes. This coming Friday I get a little…odd. Or do I? You will decide.

Then that only leaves one more scheduled for April. Which means I need to begin writing and scheduling May flashes!

As you know this weekend my Saturday was taken up by a four year old’s party. Sunday was chores and a bit of shopping.

Coming up this week in updates: My Heart’s a Virgin. Not sure how many more chapters I’ll have for this one. I want them a little more settled into life on New Vulcan before I say goodbye, but you can expect a wrap up on this one in the not too distant future. All I Ever Wanted. They are headed to New Vulcan to see what can be done for Jim, if anything, and to examine their damaged bond and perhaps repair it. If I can get to it, with everything else, a new chapter of Transfer Request will also appear.

This coming weekend is Easter. M and I have Friday off. His company gave it to them as a “spring” holiday and I just took it off as paid time off. On Easter we are going to the family’s house for a Lobster Easter dinner. I make baskets for everyone because I am a nerd.

I have now finished 3 chapters of the Pinto Regency, The Thought of You is Consuming Me, which is due to return to A03 on May the 5th.

Our warm spring weather has officially arrived. Hope yours has too.
