Went for my walk this morning. Here’s a shot of my area as I approach the park. See how it’s partly cloudy? More about that later!
I don’t know if you folks in other areas called it the same thing, but we call these things “washes”. This one is right by the park and with the rain we’ve been having it’s so full of water parts of it have become waterfalls. This is from the bridge you take over it to get through the park and to the houses.
Years and years ago M and I lived at these apartments you see over the wall.
Uh oh the clouds are becoming more threatening! Is it going to rain again?
Yep, it started raining shortly after I took this picture. If you are on my walk with me, I hope you brought your umbrella. I did not! ha
Think they’d let me buy it for $10,000. No? Damn, Wait, Where would I get $10,000 from anyway? Bummer.
And now I head home as it begins to rain on my poor little head.

Just ditto everything Kris said. It’s so beautiful in your area. If I saw clouds like that, I’d be checking for tornado watches! I most like the little waterfalls.

No umbrella here, but my Fitbit registered all the steps! Thank for the walk!
Lovely area. And wow those clouds ☁️ looked pretty ominous. Hope there were no thunderstorms. I’d be pretty frightened out in the open during a thunderstorm!!
Better keep an eye on the weather and in the forecast!
Sadly we have a threat of a winter snow/sleet storm Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday! I’m getting too old for this crap. I’m, of course, working all those nights!!

I always loose my umbrellas. I try to keep one in my car but always forget it on days it rains LOL
Beautiful pictures of your walk. I’ve never heard of a wash before. When I googled it I found was washing hair, washington post, and water sanitation and hygiene lol
Anyway, lovely neighborhood and I’m glad you had a nice walk before the rain came.
I’d love to have that corner house!

A wash is a shallow channel that follows the contours of the land and allows water to flow — or wash — from higher elevations to lower.

We don’t have anything like washes here. It looks very pretty. We only have stormdrains on the sides of roads that are underground.
