“But it did get me to thinking how I hadn’t been very fair to you about New Vulcan. And maybe, if you don’t want to leave entirely, we can consider a leave of absence for you.”
“A leave of absence.”
“For however long you need. I’d approve it.”

Jim for the love of God, just let Spock speak! Stop assuming that he needs to get away from the Enterprise and you. Stop assuming that you made him feel bad. I want to smack him! Well, at least, Jim doesn’t deny that it was a confession!
