Spock would have fallen to the deck of the transporter room if Jim did not have his arm around him to hold him up. He felt as weak as a newborn infant and he knew he was losing blood. Could see the green smears of that blood on Jim’s uniform shirt.”
“Damn it! Get a gurney here stat!”
Spock felt others grab him and lift him onto the medical equipment as Jim’s face swam before him.
“You’ll be okay, Spock. I love you.”

Spock injured this time. Probably defending Jim from attack. I’m then imagining Jim having to fight his way to Spock’s side to save him from an ambush… or perhaps rescue him from the natives hellbent on making Spock into an example to appease their gods. Jim holding Spock upright as they beamed onto the pad, being his rock, is my thing. They will always come to each other’s help. Loving these little stories.

You know, sometimes for a second I think spirk fics are just overboard with the injuries. And then I remember, OH YEAH. That’s how TOS was – pretty much every dam episode. Somebody shot, hurt, killed. Disappeared. Phasers and photon torpedoes shooting. And then they claim Starfleet isn’t a military organization. In a pig’s eye!
I LOVE Zach’s face here. And the towel he’s lying against to protect his hair between takes, I assume! hahaha

True though often it was a red shirt and I think Spock got injured more often than Kirk.
Anyway yes I am sure it was to protest the Spock hair
