So my brother from Kansas visited us recently. Originally both he and his wife were coming, but his wife’s mother was close to passing away, so she stayed behind. My brother came, visited with mom, and will be going back today. His wife’s mother did pass away on Tuesday. She was 91 and had dementia for a number of years.
I fasted on Wednesday after indulging far too many days in a row. During the celebrating for Mom I indulged in a bottle of wine. Back to reality now and watching it.
Today is, of course, the first day of August. There’s a flash on Friday (I don’t actually remember what it is I wrote right now!). And of course Chapter 8 of I Will Follow You was up yesterday. With only two to go, hopefully things will get better for Jim!
Spreadsheet-wise My Devotion is up next but we’ll see when I get to it. Probably not until next week. But I did update Transfer Request, The Sight, and The Mysterious One this week. I might finish I Will Follow You first or even get more done on Stranded 3.
Not much going on this weekend that I know of, which is the way I like it. Supposed to be toasty though.

It’s good that your brother was able to visit your mom for her birthday. But it’s sad that his mother-in-law passed. It’s never easy.
Yeahhhh for all your updates, and your surprise even to yourself Flash coming out tomorrow.
Your mention overindulging. That’s what I’ve been doing lately. Partially, it’s emotional eating, partially it’s just “well when am I coming back to this restaurant, so I might as well try as many things as we can order?” Just went to a Turkish restaurant. It is for away from our home, and we’ve been meaning to stop in… So today we did! As the old commercial said: “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing!” Kinda negates all the steps I did today on my hike! And tomorrow morning I am supposed to get my annual bloodwork done! Maybe I’ll postpone it?! I’m definitely not weighing in when I go to Weight Watchers this Saturday! Lol!

That was a lot of family stuff to hit all at once. I’m glad your brother got to be with your mom on her birthday, but I’m sorry your SIL didn’t have her husband with her when she lost her mother. There’s just no easy way to do anything when everything hits at once. Celebrating a birthday, mourning a life ended, moving to whatever is next.
I’ve really enjoyed all the updates. I’m always especially excited for My Devotion updates….and of course, that always means DWAHIA won’t be too far behind.
But I love them all, especially the Stranded series.
You’ve gotten a lot done, considering how super busy family and work have been. Bravo!

Yes yes all of that is coming up. I did schedule my song fics through September so definite progress. I am a little drained though. Hope you are enjoying your visit with your grandson!
