I literally only have Christmas Day to write for the 25 Days of Christmas. Which I will be working on the minute I post this. The list of what you can expect has been updated too.
Unfortunately I still have my Jim/Prime Holiday story to finish, but I am super super proud of being very nearly finished with my December flashes. I will have earned January off for flashes!
My still unfixed garage, I sure hope I can show you a shiny new one in DecemberUsed to be a tree, sad Looking down over another condo complex from above where we areI was trying to find pictures from last November but couldn’t find them, but I am pretty sure this tree was barren last year of leaves and didn’t look anything like this last year. Not now! Picture turned out weird, but it’s a picture of the park with no one in it! HA HA I was alone. This is the playground and even though the kids are off this week it was abandoned. Trash clings to the fence outside the park from the nearby freeway. Humans really suckLook at that blue sky (it’s gotten cloudy since), but see this tree has lost it’s leavesI’ve shown these before but they are so pretty I am showing them again These trees are losing their leaves tooMore trees losing their leaves and some stubbornly holding onto theirs. And now it is the 12 days of coffee! I may be obsessed.
I decided to do the first October Walk With Me from my new work location.
I ordered this tray myself from Amazon as I needed a place to put files and they didn’t give me one at the new location. So I bought it myself. One of trees along the waling paths at work (nope don’t know the kind)A path next to another building at the complex, another beautiful day An explosion of Purple Flowers! Look at that perfect sky with the palm trees swaying, gorgeousMy new co-worker, Bucky LOL
Decided my walk with me for the later part of September is going to be a bit different. All but one of these pictures was from yesterday
FYI, a friend’s coming over today so I decided to make the cheesecake next Saturday instead. It will be 20 degrees cooler then anyway so it’s just a better day.
On to the walk. These are the places I see on my walk at work. Since this is my last week at this location, which is rather sad after all these years, I thought I would show you the landscape I’ve seen over these many years as I go for daily walks to get in my steps. The first pictures is from this past Tuesday when it was cloudy and cool. It hasn’t been the rest of the week!
Tuesday, September 17th Some years ago this was a pond with water and fountains and ducks. Much nicer than before they decided they didn’t want to have it there anymore and turned it into a planter.
Anyway, that’s it. My last week seeing all this is coming up. Friday, September 27th we will leave this place, early, forever. It’s sad. But life marches on and with it changes we must face.
It’s Labor Day and what better time for the first Walk With Me in September? These pictures are still from my neighborhood, just a bit of a different route than I generally take.
Clouds on the horizon means humid today, ughJust Approaching a house on the way to one of the two “main drags” in the city Purple and white flowers in front of said houseMore pretty bush flowers (flowering bushes?)One of the two main drags in the city I live in! (it IS Labor Day, so not much traffic)More of the main drag (further down on either side are stores you can’t see from this part! This is all residentialThis tree has black leaves, not sure what kind he is that has black leaves, a Halloween tree? LOLClose up of the leaves, they aren’t dead, they are in good shape but you can see they are very dark leavesView from a side street all the way to the mountains (Santa Monica Mountains)This guy’s house is rather stark, all gray with no life around the yard Trees along the path
Check out that tree in the background. He’s got a flattop. The City put a power pole right through him with lines going through him too, which you can probably see, so this old guy adjusted the way he grew to accommodate the fact his branches couldn’t get through the lines. This is that same tree’s trunk but I don’t think you can see the power lines that pass through his branches. He’s very old and big so I guess I should be glad they didn’t chop him down. These yellow flowering bushes are everywhere. They are obviously very tolerant of drought prone Southern California. I see them all over the place, fortunately they are pretty!
At least the hot sky is blueBack in June I posted a picture of these trees in all their purply bloom. Loot at them now!! Some months back I posted a picture of the cloth hanging off the freeway that kind of looked like a ghost. You can see that the ghost is still there. M jokes with people that we live under the freeway. Makes us sound like trolls, actually. Maybe we are!!The shady park Ugly HedgesNot a sign of water in the wash now!Love these big big trees. Wonder how long they’ve been alive. Longer than us surely.I just love how this house is elevated about the house below it. You’ve seen these guys before but thought you might like to see how they are still going strongItalian Cypresses
I hate those trees. Ugly. Not to be confused with a Monterey Cypress (see below). They are all over here and I hate them. They are hideous and filled with vermin. Years ago my friend’s dad, alive back then, looked at the ones in his backyard (he was the original owner of the house) and he said, what asshole planted those? He was the asshole of course. Quite the character he was. He sort of looked like a cross between Tom Bosley and Paul Sorvino. Anyway, he’s long gone now but he’s one of those characters in life that you never ever forget. It’s amazing how people come and go in our lives, either because they pass on or because our circumstances in life change. Anyway, M hates olives and our friend’s dad, as a good Italian, loved them and he would chase M around with jars of olives, going but you have to try these. M would try them, of course, and go, nope, still gross. HA HA
Be careful of Sharks, they pop up where you least expect them Love this house. Loved it more before they put in that astro turf that’s in their front yard.
Last night one of the houses in the neighborhood was having a party and they hired a Mariachi Band. It sounded like a blast. Alas they didn’t invite me.
This morning’s walk was shorter than usual as I have some things to get done this morning, but I might go again later. We shall see.
Everything is in full bloom and it smells incredible out. What I am sure none of you know, one of my favorite smells of anything are orange blossoms and they are abundant here at this time of year. It was amazing.
I photoed lots of trees this time. All my pictures are taken with an iPhone.
Just some of our trees

Local Trees, See big ole Christmas Tree! HaThis is looking down the street of one my favorite neighborhood blocks, I love the houses on it. At the very end is a small one tucked away separate with only two bedrooms. Very cute~ Looks at the size of this guy’s trunk! And they say size doesn’t matter! The park has exercise equipment. I have even seen people use it. Not me, of course.More EquipmentMore EquipmentMore ugly Birds of ParadiseMore palm trees and one of my favorite houses (green house)more trees, I like the little tree next to the big onesWow look at that sky! oh and more treesSome big onesTree with Crow Ghost hanging off the freeway, LOLLittle tiny daisies that are everywherebarren trees Unknown Cool Flower
