Only a couple more parts to go on this one!
βSo, Iβm thinking of taking Bones up on his offer,β Jim said just before he was due to head off to class.
Spock was standing in the kitchen, wearing his uniform, and cooking some kind of oatmeal thing for his breakfast. He had offered Jim, but heβd declined.
βBones?β
βLeonard McCoy.β
βOh. Yes. Iβd forgotten you had a nickname for him. Offer?β
βTo room with him until they get me my own dorm. That way I can get out of your hair. Youβve been more than generous with your time and place.β Jim smiled. βAnd cooking skills.β
βIt is my understanding that Doctor Mccoy only has a single dorm.β
βWell, yeah. Iβd sleep on the couch or a cot or something. But it would only be temporary.β
Spock stared at him blankly. βI see.β
And Jim sort of deflated. What had he hoped? That Spock would beg him to stay because heβd fallen madly in love with Jim? Ha.
Jim nodded. βGuess Iβd better get to class.β He turned to leave.
βJim.β
βYeah?β
Spock blinked a few times. βHave I done something to make you uncomfortable here?β
βWhat? No. Of course not.β
βThen I donβt understand why you would choose less desirable circumstances.β
βWellβ Jim turned back to fully face Spock. βI like you, Spock. I meanβ¦a lot.β He took a deep breath. βAnd last night when you stayed out late I realized how much I really do and I felt jealous and anxious and I just have no right to feel that way. I think itβs better I donβt stay.β
βWhat did you think I was doing last night?β
Jim winced.
βI see. You assumed I was engaged in coitus with a paramour.β
That made him laugh, if a bit awkwardly. βWell, I wasnβt going to go there. But something like that, yeah.β
Spockβs lips quirked upward. βThere was an explosion in one of the labs and a cadet was injured. As his instructor I went to the hospital with him to ensure he would safely recover. I apologize, I did not have a way to contact you as I do not have your codes or coordinates for your communicator.β
It was Jimβs turn to blink rapidly. βI didnβt thinkβ¦boy, that was dumb.β
βAnd for the record, Jim, I like you too.β

His simple I like you too made me swoon. I love that he asked Jim why he would move and they were both so honest. Excellent.

OMG! Iβve broken in! Iβm somehow able to commentβ¦. It asked me to login with Facebook, instagram, emailβ¦ but this time it also has a W for the (expletive deleted) WP site. I hit it and my phone entered my saved password. And Iβm in..
Iβm exhaustedβ¦ goes along with everything else in my life.. sigh! ππ€¦π»ββοΈπ€·π»ββοΈ
aka SNAFUβ situation normal all Fβ d up!!
After all that! β¦ I love this flash. Iβm glad Spock spoke up and questioned Jimβs motivationsβ¦ and that Jim told him how he felt when Spock did not come home on time.

Yeah, WP changed every for we the readers/commenters last Friday (at least here for me). It’s a mess and insane. Used to be easy. Now several hoops to jump through. I just got a Windows 11 computer and I was hoping it was just ME, not something affecting others. ARGH!!!!!

And I got zero notice they were changing anything
Ah well the only thing I can do is stop posting here and call it a day and I don’t think most want that but if it’s too cumbersome for everyone than I am willing to give it up. Supposed to be fun not annoying

If it were for anyone else, I’d be SO gone, leaving a strongly worded letter to WP. But since it’s YOU, and your posts are the only reason I’m here, hey, we’ll keep fighting to get in. Nobody wants you to stop, no matter how many new aggravations they throw in our faces. And of course, WE didn’t get any warning either.

Yes and I already have to PAY for this site so I am frankly not willing to pay even more for their so-called upgrades and plug-ins
I don’t think there is much in the way of alternatives to WordPress either most other blogging sites closed long ago

Yeah, I looked on their blog – they’ve closed comments since every comment they’ve gotten on this change is either negative or out and out hate. (That’s what MINE would have been had they not refused to let me comment.

Itβs so weird how they changed the format. SMH!

Ivan Donβt stop posting here! I love these little flashes!
Itβs like in that old movie, itβs a mad, mad, mad world. (Not sure how many mads that were in the title) But like in the movie the treasure is under the big W!! W for IvanW – and apparently W for WordPress. Lol!
And now I can once again like the comments here, but only while Iβve logged in.

Mine seems to still be working like it used too, is this the classic British thing where we get everything 6 months later?

Could be or if you already had a “wordpress” account as I do maybe it’s not the same I dunno!

(I have a WP account. I just don’t use it ever. And I STILL have to jump through hoops and it will no longer even ALLOW me to call myself whatever I wished, which was ‘j’.

OH OH – but I DON’T have a PAID account. I forgot that would make a difference. sorry.

Did anyone else notice that on AO3, that as of last week, we no longer have to agree to anything before going right in to the site?

I donβt see anything unusual about AO3 it hasnβt ever made me agree to anything
And lol maybe on the British thing
I did experiment with my settings and took off the requirement to log in so donβt know if that helps

No, I figured that out. I use private, untrackable window for AO3. It never saves cookies or anything, so that every log-in is fresh. And until last week, every login in privacy window, we had to accept the terms and conditions. Every single login. That is now gone.

This has nothing to do with anything here. But I’m grieving and have nowhere to go with it. David McCallum died today. The very day CBS was showing a 3-hour NCIS tribute to their 20th anniversary. π¦

You need to know that with their changes, I have now received TWO EMAILS (one yesterday, one today) telling me YOU had replied to my message. They both say that you replied “You might want to go see what they’re up to! Perhaps you will like their blog as much as they liked yours.”
That NEVER EVER happened before. And of course since it never happened before, when I got the first notice I figured you DID reply and I didn’t check. Of course.
But the one today, having the exact verbiage – FOR NO REASON AT ALL? Something’s whack and I don’t get their point.
