Spock now sat in his living room, cat on his lap, trying to wrap his logical mind as to why Commander James T. Kirk would be the cat that Spock had rescued and was now fostering.
A line from an old Earth’s scribe came to mind.
There are more things in Heaven and Earth, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
From all accounts and Starfleet records, James Kirk was an ordinary Human. A brilliant, high-achieving one, notwithstanding. However, if the cat now staring at him with striking blue eyes was indeed Kirk than accounts were not accurate.
Now there was a chance that something on the planet the shuttlecraft had crashed on had somehow turned Kirk into the creature now in Spock’s apartment, but Spock didn’t think so.
He recalled after speaking with George Samuel Kirk that he read that the hole in the door of the shuttle had been too small for a Human to escape through, which was one of the reasons the authorities had decided that Kirk perished along with the others in the crash, even after not finding evidential remains. And that had been a logical conclusion if they did not have all the information needed to determine that.
But George Samuel Kirk had declared to Spock without hesitation that the hole in the door had been big enough for Jim. And if Kirk was in the form of this feline on his lap, that would make him fit through that hole.
Yet Kirk, if this was indeed somehow him, had not changed back to Human form.
“What are your secrets?” Spock asked Bombay.
Bombay made the tiniest of meow sounds, more like a kitten than a full-grown cat and then put his paw on Spock’s face.
Spock blinked at the cat. “You want me to meld with you?”

My apologies guys life has been crazy since I got back last night and I’m a little fuzzy in the brain so I didn’t reply to the Bombay comments until now. My bad.

OH THAT’S INSANELY AWESOME!!! I can’t wait to see THAT meld. And how fascinating that Spock, now knowing this cat was Human, immediately deduced that’s what Bombaby (DANG IT! I do that EVERY time!)…BomBAY was requesting. Just love this!

I’m currently at the doctors office. I called out sick for tonight with asthma and a sinus infection.. I actually got someone to work for me Saturday night but they’re trying to intimidate me into working tonight after I called out. … because of course it’s a Friday night and there’s a snowstorm predicted. No snow all winter until here it is March.

I think it was someone else’s comment and I just misremembered! Thank you. I’ll write it down this time! But – well – the good news is you don’t have to be sick on your birthday…maybe that’s stretching it but it’s all I got! The bad news, of course that you’re sick at all. I’m so sorry. And I hope you do NOT give in to the intimidation. YOU’RE the one who needs taking care of. Not you taking care of others for a little while. And I have my fingers crossed they’re wrong about the snow, if you don’t want any. I’m so ready for spring and warmer myself!

One of my twins has been away for the last week and a half at her boyfriend’s parent’s house on Long Island NY. And she’s coming back tonight before the storm. Actually, my husband is picking her up at the ferry from Long Island this evening, hopefully before the storm.
FACEPALM to infinity…..I meant to send a text to my older daughter who’s been sleeping in her sister’s room while she was away ( because it’s a dark room and she tends to go to sleep really late and the light bothers her in her own room)…
The text was telling her that she needs to wash the sheets in that room before her sister returns, but I sent it to the work cellphone, because i am an f’ing idiot AND I had just sent the work cellphone a copy of the doctor’s note, so that text thread was cued up on my phone. OMG!!!
Thank God and the Great Bird of the Galaxy that I didn’t say anything that was inappropriate to send to work !!!! However, it’s highly embarrassing. Let the ground open up and swallow me now.

(My standard answer to all things now is “I wanted to but Spock said no.” I get strange looks. I mean stranger than usual! 🙂 )

I’m the one with the birthday today and also covid – it’s a tough time, but I found wine and takeaway so things are looking up considerably!
Also apparently I’m now at the age where I know the meaning of life, so I’m assuming I’ll work out the lottery numbers soon as well 🙂

AWWWW! My mystery is solved. Thank you for telling us. But wow, I’m desperately sorry about the COVID for your BD. It’s never fair, but especially today. I guess I ascribe to magical thinking, as I firmly believe BD’s should be above anything that would taint them. May you enjoy the wine more than ever and win the largest lotto $$$ amount ever. And then flaunt it over your friends and less than friends and have everything you dream of. But you might as well keep the meaning of life to yourself. Those who believe you might endanger you to steal it, and those who don’t would expose you to cruel mockery, neither of which you deserve. Just sit in your favorite new mansion and smile that Jim (I know secrets you’ve never dreamed of) Kirk Cheshire grin because you know something no one else knows.
