Fives Times Jim Almost Died and the One Time He Did
Just kidding, April Fool’s. I wouldn’t write that. Well, I did, actually. I have killed Jim off in a couple of one-shots and even a couple of stories.
Most notoriously The Strange Vulcan. I have had people tell me that story WRECKED them. It’s funny because there are so many elements to that story that I love so it’s a favorite of mine but I get it.
Fun fact or not so fun if you hate me for the above story. I originally intended it to be just a different meet between them. Spock time-traveling and ending up meeting Jim on modern Earth in Iowa.
But as I was writing that story I was marathon watching The Twilight Zone. Wow can some of those stories warp your mind. I remember one where the actress who played T’Pring (Arlene Martel I think was her name) that involved a plane crash. It was pretty freaky. She was a beautiful girl. Anyway, I digress.
Inspired by watching The Twilight Zone, I changed The Strange Vulcan to what it is today and yes, Jim dies. And, spoil alert, basically so does Spock. That’s not an April Fool’s joke.
If you haven’t read it, bring tissues or something.
But I digress. I didn’t write anything for today as I am giving myself this day off. If TSV is not your cup of tea there are plenty of them out there I have written that you can read instead.

Oh for a second there I was like yay 5+1 even if you kill Jim. Lol.
TSV was such a good one. I remember I was always a little off kilter, you kept me guessing, and then then end broke my heart even though it was exactly the right ending for the story.
Gah you’re so good at the writing thing!
Happy April!

Yeah were I to write another 5 plus 1 I think I’d make it happier than that. But I’ve pretty much run the gambit through that I think.
Happy April

April Fools Day! I should’ve known.
I recall reading that story back when it came out. Definitely a tear jerker. But Spock would rather be with Jim in anyway! 💔😢 I don’t think I have the emotional stability to read it right now… I’ll stick with happy endings! ❤️❤️

Yeah.
No.
So MY choice for today, AFTER I watch The Contractor, which is not showing in any theater close to me – WTH??? And what the heck is Morbius? That’s all the rage today. So the only way I see it is to drive round trip over 200 miles….or just sit here comfortable at home, renting – or buying, which costs very little more, on amazon, no new omicron b.a.4 subvariant whatever the heck they’re calling it cause there’s no illness in here at all. I might have to run to the store for popcorn though.
No wonder Chris wasn’t all that excited.
I mean, we’ve already waited 1 1/2 years from when it was SUPPOSED to be out.
Thanks pandemic.
And of course he filmed it almost 3 years ago, I guess.
And then Knives next weekend. Wow. So Kimmel said something at the end like, ‘Chris Pine, ladies and gentlemen. He has TWELVE movies coming out this week!’
LOL
Oh wait, I didn’t say.
The time travel thing.
So my choice to read as substitution is
drumroll please
Bitter Frost
A bittersweet love story, but nobody dies, thanks to Spock.
Have a great weekend.

OH!!! WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!!
Does Chris die in this one?
I only read one critic say something like ‘even though the ending isn’t what you’d want” or something.
I SWORE I’d not watch another fool thing he died in.
Maybe I better wait till somebody else *hint hint watches it and tells me.
DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I forgot he has a penchant for dying in his films.

I have no clue on that
But I think either he or the chick dies in All the Old Knives because I believe in the book or so I read, one kills the other

Poor The Strange Vulcan, not getting any love, lol
Yeah all films/shows were delayed and yeah I remember when he was filming that, it was a while ago. But yeah he’s making the rounds on films that are basically old. I think the production company that made The Contractor went bankrupt even

OMG – no wonder it’s like – NOWHERE out there close to me. And that’s not a tiny town or anything – they have FOUR multi screen theaters. All showing the same crap. None of which is the one I want. That explains a lot, actually. Wonder if it’s paramount that’s responsible for the name change then? It’ll be on Paramount+ eventually, I read. But that’s like 5 months away.

Yes I am sure that’s why The Contractor isn’t really around much is because it’s changed company hands several times because the makers went bankrupt, often Chris chooses stories based on a story he likes or the people involved he likes, rather than whether it makes money. He has another he made with Olivia Wild directing I think where he has a smallish part, it had Harry Styles in it too. I forget the name or when that one is out, but same story, he made it because she asked him to do it (former gf)

It’s not that there’s no love. It’s just reading it once or twice (I read it twice early on) was enough. It stays with you. Not one you’d think, OH YEAH – I can’t remember that one, I gotta go read it!
