We have The Flu from the One-Shot Collection 2, first posted September 07, 2014
Jim accessed Spockβs quarters and entered into a blast furnace. He winced. He swore he almost started sweating immediately.
βSpock?β
βHere, Captain.β The raspy, barely there voice sounded like Spock. Kind of.
Jim approached the bed where Spock lay under what could only be described as a mountain of blankets and sheets. In fact he was covered by so many Jim suspected heβd absconded with those from Jimβs quarters and perhaps several other crewmembers.
He looked down at the very pale Vulcan.
βHey, sweetheart. Bones told me you have the Norvarian flu.β
Spock nodded. His brown eyes were glazed and his hair stood on end.
Jim sat on the edge of the bed and touched his forehead. βYouβre burning up. How hot do you have it in here?β
β95 degrees Fahrenheit.β
βThatβsβthatβs hot.β
βIf you would like me to lower itββ
βNo, Spock. I want you to have what you need. Are you cold?β
βFreezing.β
βDamn. Iβm sorry you got sick. Iβm gonna ream Bones a new one for not figuring this out before you got infected. What happened to Vulcans being immune to everything?β
βThat is a fallacy. And I am half-human.β
Jim leaned down and kissed Spockβs feverish brow. βWhat do you need? What can I do for you?β
βI do not wish to inconvenience you,β Spock said with obvious reluctance.
βIβm on a break right now. Scottyβs on the bridge. Iβm yours for the next four hours.β
Spock was quiet and simply stared at Jim.
βWhat?β Jim asked, stroking Spockβs hair. βWhat do you want, sweetheart?β
βI am told body heat is a good way of keeping warm,β Spock said, his soft voice straining. βI do not wish to infect you.β
βYou wonβt. I was inoculated against the Norvarian flu when I was on Tarsus. It was one of the few good things from those days.β Jim did not look forward to roasting to death under the covers with Spock but he also would do just about anything for his still secret lover.
Jim removed his shirts and then reached to yank off his boots.
βAre you certain?β Spock whispered. βI do not wish to make you unhappy.β
βYou make me happy. Everything else doesnβt matter.β
βComputer, lower temperature twenty degrees,β Spock ordered.
βYou didnβt have to do that.β Jim stood to remove his pants and boxers.
βWith you in bed beside me I will not need it.β
Jim smiled and slipped under the covers. Spock immediately pulled Jim to him and plastered him against him, his arms looping around Jimβs middle. Spock gave a contented sigh and Jim decided his discomfort was worth it to make Spock happy.
Jim woke up to the sound of someone entering Spockβs quarters. He blinked his eyes blearily, trying to struggle up from the Vulcan who had decided to make Jim his bed. Spock was too heavy and would not budge.
βOkay, Spock, this should make you feel a lot better,β Bones declared from right next to the bed.
Uh-oh.
Spock stirred and began to move off Jim. βDoctor?β
βYeah, IβJim!β Bones had lifted the blankets that covered them.
Jim smiled sheepishly even as Spock tried to cover Jim from Bonesβ gaze.
βDoctor, please let go of the blankets,β Spock said. βYou are exposing the captain.β
βI can see that!β Bones said, dropping the blankets and covering his eyes.
Spock tucked the blankets around Jim. βWhy are you here?β
βTo give you a shot! Youβre supposed to be sick.β
βAnd I am. The captain was keeping me warm.β
βGod.β
Jim laughed. βI think you might be making it worse, Spock.β
βJesus, Jim. Spock? Spock is your lover?β
βThat is not your business, doctor.β
Bones rolled his eyes. βI think the catβs out of the bag now, Spock.β
βThe cat, doctor?β
βNever mind.β Bones stabbed Spock in the neck with a hypospray. βThis should make you feel a lot better. Almost as good as new.β
βLooks like you lost that wager, Bones,β Jim said with a huge grin.
βWell, how was I supposed to know youβd lost your damn mind?β
βTo what do you refer, doctor?β
Bones snorted. βI can tell heβs feeling better already. Iβm going. And I just have to say, no details.β
βDetails?β
βShut up, Spock. Though, I gotta know, when? How?β
βOne month and two and a half weeks ago,β Spock replied. βIf you desire hours and minutes as well as secondsββ
βI donβt,β Bones interrupted.
βAnd as for how,β Jim said. βThatβs easy. Spock was upset I got hurt during a landing party and when you released me he attacked me and fucββ
βLa, la, la,β Bones said loudly, plugging his ears. βForget I asked. In fact, forget I was here. In fact, I never was.β
They both watched as Bones practically ran out of Spockβs quarters.
βI believe I have won the wager, Captain.β
Jim shook his head and then frowned up at Spock. βWhat?β
βI placed an anonymous wager.β
βYou-you did? But Spock, thatβs-thatβs cheating.β
βIs it?β
βYes, because you had inside knowledge.β
Spock nodded. βI see. I suppose I must forfeit my winnings. I am not used to gambling.β
Jim smiled. βYeah, I know. How do you feel?β
βI am greatly improved.β
βGood. I think Iβm due back on the bridge soon. Iβd like to get a shower.β
βDo you desire company?β
Jimβs eyes widened. βDo you feel that much better?β
βAffirmative.β
Jim licked his lips. βHot damn. Then, yeah. Hell, yeah. If youβre sure.β
βI am sure.β Spock leaned down to kiss him, pressing him into the mattress.
Jim groaned. βMaybe the shower can wait.β

The sweetheart. Every time. I love it so much. Every time.
And happy sigh. I donβt like that poor Spock was sick, but I love Jim taking care of him.
This was an excellent one to pick for TBT! Good job you. Reading it again is a reward. π

Aw, he’s such a sweetheart. I needed a pick-me-up today, so thank you for that. More often than not it’s Spock taking care of Jim, so seeing it the other way around is awesome. Great pick!

Iβm sorry Spock wasnβt feeling well, but oh how I love them just taking care of each other. Itβs a beautiful thing to behold. Love seeing Jim being so devoted to Spock and Spock accepting and encouraging his care. By accepting his care, heβs letting Jim see him at his most vulnerable. They have an incredible level of trust between them. It does my heart good to see such love! β€οΈπππ
