It’s Labor Day and what better time for the first Walk With Me in September? These pictures are still from my neighborhood, just a bit of a different route than I generally take.

(it IS Labor Day, so not much traffic)More of the main drag (further down on either side are stores you can’t see from this part! This is all residentialThis tree has black leaves, not sure what kind he is that has black leaves, a Halloween tree? LOLClose up of the leaves, they aren’t dead, they are in good shape but you can see they are very dark leavesView from a side street all the way to the mountains (Santa Monica Mountains)This guy’s house is rather stark, all gray with no life around the yard Trees along the path
Check out that tree in the background. He’s got a flattop. The City put a power pole right through him with lines going through him too, which you can probably see, so this old guy adjusted the way he grew to accommodate the fact his branches couldn’t get through the lines.This is that same tree’s trunk but I don’t think you can see the power lines that pass through his branches. He’s very old and big so I guess I should be glad they didn’t chop him down.These yellow flowering bushes are everywhere. They are obviously very tolerant of drought prone Southern California. I see them all over the place, fortunately they are pretty!
Very beautiful. Seems so peaceful and quiet! I think we see those mountains in lots of CHiPs scenes. You’re probably too young to have been around when they were filming all those motorcycle shots on the highways. Hope you’re having a nice holiday..day.
Yeah I didn’t see them filming but of course I have seen the show 🙂
Several years back now when the company I worked for at the time shared office space with an Auto Insurance Company (Now defunct because they were bought out by someone else) used to have events in the courtyard of the building’s property and one of these events included Estrada. This must have been on 1999 or so, so 20 years ago. Even then everyone ran down stairs to catch a glimpse of him. It was promoting auto insurance for motorcycles!
Anyway it was peaceful! Sister is coming over later to swim so that will be fun and I need to get busy writing…something!
Oh yes. You absolutely should write something!!! 🙂

Seriously, even I will allow for you have a holiday off from writing. Much as I absolutely miss it! Still….an exhausted, drained Ivan is not the happy writer he is when he’s rested and had some fun!
Love your strolls, the purple tee is a Prunus cerasifera ‘Krauter Vesuvius’ Standard
Flowering Plum ‘Krauter Vesuvius’ Standard, I think, the yellow flowers are Lantana’s,
Rest, relax, and rejuvenate.

Lovely pictures and as always, I really like your area. I’ll have to do a walk and post pictures to show all the construction on the main road by my house LOL

It’s hot and muggy. Already 91 at 10. Only 36% humidity but for US that’s bad lol
