M got Covid and then gave it to me even though we isolated from each other as soon as we knew. Was too late.
Anyway I’m feeling crappy but not as bad as I could I am sure. This too shall pass but I can’t say I am eager to write at the moment.
Yes, I am doing it again
I’m itching to write two new stories.
The Jim cheats story (I need a title) and Vulcan Jim and Spock from Granted (they were a side couple and Spock from that universe was about to go through Pon Farr) Oh and I need a title for that.
And yes yes I know I have a billion wips. You try shutting my brain off.
It’s weird because last week I said to myself “yeah maybe it’s time to stop writing Spirk”. But hardly anyone is writing AOS anymore so I hate to abandon them.” I am literally the only fool I think writing them consistently since 2013.
And then just as I say to myself, this is it. When you are done with the stories you have going, you are done, I decide I have others I want to write. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.
I do hope to finish Something Stupid this week and Catch a Falling Star will be finished soon too. So I don’t know.

I’m only working three days this week and then I am off on a little get away before the holiday weekend. Not sure I will have time to update anything else. Friday the 1st is the firs Christmas in July offering.

This actually is the middle part of a series about the same Kirk and Spock. I didn’t set out to make them the same but they ended up that way.
The first one concerns how they got together, Conduct Unbecoming. The second one is the angsty What I See, where Jim gets blinded. Notes from a Conference is old married Spirk. I recommend you read them all.

“Would you care to dance?”
Jim was startled by the question. He’d been going over reports on his PADD. He was behind as usual. Why were there so many anyway?
He glanced down at the reports.
“Don’t really have much time.”
“It will not take long. I understand you like the song that they are about to play.”
Jim raised both brows. “Yeah? What song is that?”
“Almost Paradise.”
Jim chuckled. “Uh, yeah. Someone’s pulling your chain.”
“Do you want to dance or not?”
Jim shoved his PADD into a bag. ”Sure it’s your dime.”
“My…dime?”
Jim slid out of the booth. “Come on.”
He moved over to the dance floor of the establishment. The one who asked him followed and put his arm around Jim pulling him close.
“You are on shore leave.”
“Mm. I still have a ton of work to do.”
The song began to play as Spock pulled him even closer, leaning into him.
I thought that dreams belonged to other men

I feared my heart would beat in secrecy
I faced the nights alone

Jim’s heart raced as he lifted his gaze to Spock’s.
“Do you see forever?” Spock asked.
“Is this some sort of proposal?” Jim was half-joking.
“Yes.”
His eyes widened. “What?”
It seems like perfect love’s so hard to find
I’d almost given up
You must have read my mind
And all these dreams I saved for a rainy day
They’re finally coming true
I’ll share them all with you
‘Cause now we hold the future in our hand
“What is your answer?”
Jim moved in for Spock’s kiss.
“Yes. I say yes.”

Catch a Falling Star is on hiatus again. That’s the one where Jim is accused of murder orchestrated by Gary Mitchell. I’m not sure where to go next so I made the decision to put it on hiatus until Summer when I hope I can pick it up again. It is noted on the fic.
