Just now I finished Anything.
After nearly two years, even I think it’s about time!
Just now I finished Anything.
After nearly two years, even I think it’s about time!
So I was watching some videos and I came across a song that is inspirational to me for Spirk. This one would be for Spock, as in Jim would be the one saying all this about Spock.
Below are they lyrics and I would call it Beneath Your Beautiful. Will I write it? We shall see!
You tell all the boys no
Makes you feel good yeah
I know you’re out of my league
But that won’t scare me away oh no
You’ve carried on so long
You couldn’t stop if you tried it
You’ve built your wall so high
That no one could climb it
But I’m gonna try
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful
Would you let me see beneath your perfect

It’s me again.
At it again.
Yes, last night I thought of a new idea for an angsty Spirk story. I ran the idea by Kris, who was definitely on board with me writing it, but I can’t write it right now. I have too much going on that will prevent it, at least for a little while.
This will be totally off the timeline you see in the movies. It will be more similar to TOS but with the AOS cast, basically, and some elements of the AOS stuff. The entire prologue will take place before they are all on the Enterprise. I anticipate the prologue being kind of longish as I will have a lot to cover in it, but we will see when it sees the light of day.
The thing is we are coming up on the busiest time of year for me for personal time requests from family and friends. This is going to make my writing updates even more erratic.
For example, I have something personal I simply must attend to for September, which puts everything else on hold until it’s done. It’s just the way it has to be. I hope it won’t take me the rest of the month, but it might, consider I am doing the Queen Mary thing at the end of September as well.
Plus I also have the Professor Spock Halloween story to finish. I have started it and got a decent start, I think. It’s probably going to end up a one-shot rather than a multi-chapter fic, but we will see. There’s also the OMS challenge story (TOS) that I have to have ready in November. It won’t be a long story and I have started it at least but it takes a bit for me to find the TOS voice. And of course there is still my Christmas story! I have quite a bit done on that one and the boys are getting very close to a very nice Christmas indeed HA HA.
I’d also like to finish Anything in the not too distant future.
So you see there’s a lot I need to do before starting anything else plus all my regular updates. It felt good to finish What Happened to Spock, although now that it is finished, I can think of things I should have done, addressed, etc. Oh well.
But for now, I am working on me. My personal thing. Once I get through that, I can turn back to writing Spirk/Kock (ha ha).
For now I leave you with a picture

Spock put his hand on his sleeping husband’s face, waiting for the fog to lift and Jim to come to awareness once more. He could feel Jim’s mind springing back, the confusion fading away as Spock reminded him of who he was, where he was, and their life.
Eyelids lifted to expose the beloved blue. When Jim was gone, Spock would be gone too. There was no other outcome for either of them.
“Hello Spock,” Jim said softly. “Have I been asleep long?”
“No, T’hy’la. Just a couple of ours. I have had tea with our son and his mate.”
“He looks happy, yeah? I mean as happy as Vulcans can look.”
Spock smiled slightly. “Agreed. Would you like to get up now and have something to eat with us?”
“All right.” Jim’s tongue darted out as he sat up. “Spock, what’s really going on? What is Suvoc here for?”
Spock hesitated only a moment before taking Jim’s hand in his. “He wishes to convince us to go to New Vulcan with him to experiment with a treatment he hopes will help with your dementia.”
“Oh.” Jim nodded. “I-I suspected it was something like that. But—”
“I ask that you consider it and what he has to say, adun. If not for our sake, but for his. He has already lost his birth parents as well as his relationships with Ambassador Spock and Leonard. It has all taken its toll on his, Jim. He tries not to show it but I assure you it does.”
Jim raised his other hand to Spock’s cheek. “You would know, wouldn’t you? All right, sweetheart, I’ll listen and keep an open mind.”
Spock moved his face to kiss Jim’s palm. “You are everything. Come. Do you wish a shower first?”
He helped Jim up from the bed.
“Yeah, maybe. Still feel a little groggy and kind of sweaty.”
“Here, I will help you.” And he led his husband into the shower, thinking of their many intimacies there in their distant past.

This past week has been quite nice weather wise. Been in the 80s during the day and 60s at night. Considering it’s August, this is fantastic weather for us. Last year during this same time period we were in the middle of one of those most horrendous heatwaves I have ever experienced and our AC was broken. What a difference a year makes! I think it’s supposed to steam up a bit come the first week of September but for now I am absolutely loving this weather. I’ll keep you posted on my chances for September lol.
This coming weekend is Labor Day of course and I decided to take an extra day off so I have a four day weekend as I took the Tuesday after as well. I am greatly looking forward to it.
We are on the stalled season for movies so I haven’t seen any in a few weeks. Last one I saw was Mission Impossible. Most of what’s out there now we will probably wait for netflix or something. I thought we might see The Meg this week but then M volunteered to work at an event for his community garden so that’s happening instead. Next week? Who knows. You know M just turned 54 and his dad died at 55 so he says to me, I have only one year left. Yes, I wanted to choke him for that. Sigh.
Funny how his birthday is around the same time as CP. CP’s being the 26th and M’s the 27th.
Last night after we returned from a celebratory dinner, I bought two more Christmas decorations! HA.
I posted the first chapter of Hello Darkness, My Old Friend on Sunday. As you know if you’ve read it, it took a very dark turn at the end, and I am afraid that will stay that way for now. My goal is to get it done by the end of the year and take them into the fall and holiday season in the story too.
I’m in the mood for my Starfleet Academy stuff so it’s likely I will work on Idiots in Love and The Experiment this week instead of The Sight or any of the rest. I intend to finish everything eventually that I have going. I guess as long as one or two of you stick with me, that’s all that matters.
I was at Target Saturday and saw that they had these television series figures from the 60s on an end cap of the toy section. I stopped when I noticed these guys from Mirror Mirror, The Original Series (suck that Discovery and Enterprise etc, TOS still comes first despite your BS, but I digress, lol).

My excitement at seeing them included in the figures soon subsided as I picked up the package to look at the dolls/figures. I don’t know who they were supposed to be because they certainly weren’t Shatner and Nimoy. Sorry, guys, but I think my 2 and half year old great niece could have done a better job getting them to actually look like Kirk and Spock. Ugh. Needless to say it went right back on the shelf. What a shame!
The Hike is done. Yippie! Hope you like it.
Now I can turn to The Sight when I feel like it. Not sure when that will be as I’m doing some reading at present. But it will come in due time, no worries there.
Most of you know Crazy the cat. I got her, well, I don’t know five or six years ago now? Got her in January that year and she’d been born in November I think and Luna in October. Anyway…the point is, I’ve had her a while.
She’s got her issues. She has breathing problems and eats her own fur (she’s nicknamed Crazy for a reason). All these years we’d been feeding her mostly Fancy Feast wet food and broths. They get fed 3 times a day. They always have dry kibble. Anyhow, she always mostly licked the gravy off and left the rest.
One day recently, our friend mentioned that her elderly cat quite enjoyed the Sheba Perfect Portions Pate food. They come in twin packs. You break one open and feed the whole thing to the booger. Anyway, Luna hates pate food. So she gets Cuts, which they also make. Anyway so we tried the Perfect Portions Pate and now Crazy is crazy for them! HA HA. She gobbles them down each meal like we hadn’t ever fed her anything proper for 5 or 6 years. Animals!
Should be a nice weekend weather wise and birthday dinner wise. Quietish after the recent weekends of busy busy.
He found Ronan in the bedroom talking to Father. He became instantly concerned when he saw that Father looked a little confused. He exchanged a quick look with Ronan.
“I’ll be right back. Going to go to the bathroom,” Ronan said. He stopped and squeezed Suvoc’s arm as he went past.
“Are you well, Father?”
Father scrunched up his face. “Who was that?”
Heart sinking, Suvoc forced himself to remain calm. “My husband, Ronan. You met him a short time ago.”
“Oh.”
“It is all right, Father. You will get to know him better over tea. Sa-Mekh is making some.”
“Spock?”
“Yes, Father.”
Suddenly Father looked scared. “Where-where is he? Where’s Spock? Spock!”
“Father—”
“I don’t-I don’t-Spock! Spock!”
Sa-Mekh appeared and hurried over to Father, grabbing him by the biceps and looking straight into his face. “I am here, ashal-veh. You are not alone.” He glanced briefly at Suvoc. “Please finish the tea for me.”
“Sa-Mekh—”
“All will be well. Go.”
Suvoc went out to the kitchen where Ronan waited. He went instantly to his mate who embraced him. “He’s definitely worse.”
“I know. We will take him to the healers, e’lev.”
“Yes,” Suvoc agreed. “Soon.” And he prepared the tea.

I’m back from San Diego. Didn’t have a chance to get anything written, which is why you don’t see the next part of The Love of a Lifetime here.
It was hot and muggy. Ugh. The good news is there were too many of us to take one car so we drove ourselves (meaning M did LOL). We left Saturday morning at 6:45ish and got to the Safari Park in Escondido around 9:30. We got in free thanks to the fact that two of our friends have memberships and they get a few perks as part of their membership. Considering it’s $54 each to get in, this was a good deal.
Since the area here is set up like a safari in Africa, it decided to be as hot there. Seriously. Ugh. We did a ton of walking and we also rode the tram that takes you to see a lot of the animals. They had a baby giraffe. We had a three year old with us, Aria, and they now have a hot air balloon that goes up for about 10-15 minutes and she just had to go on this. It cost $14 extra per person so “Uncle Ryan” paid for them all to go except for me and Aria’s mommy, because we were like…nope. They all enjoyed it but after that they closed it because it got to be too breezy.
They have a new part there that’s supposed to be Australia but there was no shade at all while there and though it was nice to see the kangaroos I hightailed it out of there to go find a table and chairs out of the sun while they all looked.
Later, we all continued on to San Diego, proper, and checked in to our hotel. That night we went to Old Town San Diego and had Mexican food at Cafe Coyote.
Sunday, we had our free included breakfast and then headed out to the zoo. Fine time was had by all and in the afternoon, after Aria absolutely loved the penguins in Africa Rocks (think Madagascar Penguins), we went back to the hotel, went into the pool for a bit to cool down, and then out to dinner before heading back to the night time zoo. They had a little show with bubbles which Aria loved, and then a parade, which she also loved. And she rode the skyfari at night (I do not like the skyfari, it’s very high up in little buckets).
Yesterday morning we had more free breakfast and then M and I headed home, making it back about 1ish. I guess technically I could have done some writing but I didn’t feel up to it.
Anyway, happy to be back. This weekend should be chill (not temperature wise) except we will got out for dinner for M’s birthday. This was the last trip away we have planned for a while. As a home body, that suits me just fine.
As for what’s coming up storywise, besides the one appearing here, I have to finish The Hike and get the next chapter of The Sight done. I’ll play it by ear as to when any of those appear.
Ronan walked close beside him for which Suvoc was grateful. For some reason, Suvoc had anticipated Father would be the difficult one rather than Sa-Mekh.
The trip to their apartment was fraught with silence from Sa-Mekh but Ronan kept up chatter with Father.
Once in the apartment, Father said, “Well, let’s get you settled in your room—”
“Suvoc, a word, please.”
He stiffened and looked regretfully in Father and Ronan’s direction. At the moment, Ronan was trying not to look at either Suvoc or his Sa-Mekh, and Suvoc could hardly blame him.
“Spock, you’re being rude,” Father said pointedly.
“No, Father. It is all right. Please show my mate to our room.”
Suvoc turned to Sa-Mekh as soon as Father and Ronan were out of earshot. “You wished to converse?”
“This bonding was…sudden.”
“Quite. In human terms, we eloped,” he replied, as stiff as Sa-Mekh.
“Very recently?”
“Affirmative. I…it was my time and Ronan…” Suvoc shook his head, aware he was becoming embarrassed.
“Your time? I was not made aware.”
“As there was nothing you could do about it, there was no requirement to notify you,” Suvoc snapped. He straightened. “Please. There is no reason for objection to Ronan.”
Sa-Mekh looked as though he would argue, but then nodded. “As it was sudden due to your…Pon Farr, that is the way of things.” He turned toward the kitchen. “I will prepare tea while you get settled.”
Suvoc bowed. “As you wish.”
