Some Updating Rambles

Two updates got done this week on AO3, Transfer Request and The Sight. So that’s better than I thought. I plan on ending The Sight with the next chapter.

I have two of the November Wednesday flashes done now with only two to go and plans for what I want to do with those. I hope to complete those in the not distant future. Once those are done I will be moving on to the Holiday stories.

Up for possible updates next week are The Mysterious One and The Fling. So cross your fingers for those.

Friday is my last song flash for now (they have been popular so I will likely continue them at some point) with Dancing On My Own. Though the song is sad and doesn’t end well, my flash does.

Next month I continue my Kirk and Spock from the Super Flash series. When last we left the boys, Jim was given leave to recover from his injuries. These guys, I am calling them my Fall Guys, will appear every Friday in October, November and December.

For Wednesdays in October, look for October themed flashes. I can’t wait for you to read some of these. I am super excited for the coming months and I am certain you will love it all.

The move is Friday. I’ll have updates for you next week on my new location. And for those keeping track, we are still waiting on that garage door! Sheesh

So you aren’t getting or haven’t gotten yet anyway, until now, my usual what’s coming up for the week post. And that’s because…well nothing.

I’m still working on the TOS flash for November 6th and then I have the follow-ups to that and they are getting a little more complicated because of reasons and it’s taking up all of my creative energy right now.

What that means is, even though Transfer Request is next to be updated at AO3, I just don’t know when that’s going to happen.

Besides the November TOS flashes, I will soon have to get back to my Jim/Prime Holiday story and then the 25 days of Christmas for December, so needless to say the stories on AO3 are going to take a small hit. I will try to continue to update at least one a week. But I can’t promise more right now.

But coming up this Wednesday here, is my conclusion to Clueless Spock and then my final song flash, Dancing on My Own. Yes, I am revealing the song. So there’s definitely stuff to look forward to, I think.

Weird week for me too because we are massively packing for the move this weekend. I will be leaving work a bit early Friday as they want us out.

Finally, this Saturday I will be doing the cheesecake. I am so looking forward to it. Got all the ingredients and it should be a nice weekend for it. Very fall like for us.

Unfortunately, tomorrow they are predicting our infamous Santa Ana Winds and 98 degrees. That should be the end of it for a bit, I hope. Crossing my fingers and toes. But that’s also our famous FIRE WEATHER.

When I was a kid, I’ll not forget, there one year where the fires were quite bad in my area all the way through October. The sky was orange it was so filled with smoke. That year my parents were supposed to go to a Halloween Party at the Elks Lodge (my dad was an officer there and bingo caller) but the fire got so close to the Lodge and the famous Hopetown (look it up, quite famous because many old time westerns were filmed there) that they canceled everything. So while yeah we do get warmer weather then we used to, fires have been an issue for me in California my whole life.

I’m a Little Behind

Went to see It Chapter 2 last night, of course, and it was good, but super long.

We got Subway before and I don’t know, maybe the turkey was bad, because I ended up sicker than a dog in the middle of the night. I didn’t go to work today but didn’t do much of anything but moan and groan.

Plus what I am working on is all at work, so…thus I am falling behind this week.

The flash for November 6th with my TOS guys is a little more complicated than I first thought it would be and I ended up making it into a series-ish thing like the other Wednesday Flashes. But stay tuned for more on that when November comes.

Then I was working on Nine Lives but it’s a bit stalled. I’ll get through it.

This Saturday I plan to finally make that cheesecake I found the recipe for I want to make, so Friday after work I need to go shopping for the stuff.

I will take pictures and let you know how it comes out.

And speaking of here’s one of Luna

Tuesday Rambles, September 17, 2019

I hope to get one more walk with me in September posted before the end of the month. Only two weeks to do it in though and I don’t like to walk too much when it’s hot, which it’s been.

As you know I posted You Sang to Me on AOS and will do Nights are Forever soon.

I also ended up posting a Star Trek TOS story related to Amok Time. I’m pleased with the response I’ve gotten for it. Thank you.

Next up in Nine Lives when I can get to it.

And speaking of It…we are off to see It Chapter 2 tonight. I know you are all cowering and making faces as you read this. HA HA

Tomorrow is the next part of the Clueless Vulcan Wednesday flashes. Alas that Vulcan is still clueless. The conclusion is September 25th. Friday is the next song flash which I must admit greatly amuses me and is quite clever. It’s based on a song from my absolute fanatical love of a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical as a kid. I own the DVD of the musical. So…look for that. I know I will! LOL

Sunday Night Ramblings, September 15, 2019

Well, if I needed proof no one pays the slightest bit of attention to me on tumblr, I got it the other day when I attempted to tout my two song fics I posted here on there.

Crickets (yeah you get a cute animated one)

Ah, well live and learn.

I am excited for you all to read all my flashes coming up. I am thoroughly scheduled all the way through October now. I am soooo pleased with myself. I really am. Some of these flashes coming up are just great, if I do say so myself.

I have only the four Wednesday ones to write for November and then I will be finished for flashes all the way through then. I plan to have those done this coming week. My OMS story for November is complete too.

Once November’s are finished, I will take a break from writing flashes and not start the December ones until October.

AO3 updates for this week are Nine Lives and Cadet Ashayam. Sorry, that’s all I can manage right now.

Mylochkatee from tumblr has been going crazy with artwork today and she did a bunch for me. I have added some here for you to see but please check her out on AO3 and give her your kudos. They are well deserved. In particular check out the “Princes” one she did. Stunning.

In my continuing saga of our garage door, it has been officially ordered through the garage door company contracted through Costco. It says it can take 4-6 weeks to order it, so I sure hope it’s on the shorter side of the four weeks. The guy put estimated completion date November 06, which is EIGHT weeks, so let’s hope that’s not actually true. They had the lowest price, plus we get a $200 Costco Gift card. Guess I wasn’t kidding that much when I joked to M about it being done in time for Christmas.

I am almost done with the conclusion of clueless Spock and yes there is a happy ending after all. Then it’s the last one in October. Sorry for any delays, but today at work, well, I worked. HA HA

As you know, or should recall, we are moving from our current building which we’ve been at for like I don’t know 30 years. I’ve been there myself for a number of years, though not the whole 30 obviously. This is a HUGE change for all of us. It’s only a few blocks away but in a new area with new parking and new building and smaller desks and well…at it’s now less than three weeks. We go to the new office beginning September 30th! So we are packing and doing crazy shit right now.

So I do apologize. I am trying to get out as much as I can on AO3. I did um…what did I do? The Space in My Bed and Our So-Called Life. Yes, that’s right.

Friday’s a new song flash. Let’s just say it’s a song from the 1970s! WOO HOO.

On the drive home I was listening to the radio and they played Jessie’s Girl by Rick Springfield (who flung his sweat on me one day but that’s another story) and I was singing it as Uhura’s Boy! HA HA HA. Instead of where can I find a woman like that, it became “Where Can I Find a Vulcan like That?”

Anyway, that’s not the song, obviously! HA HA

Your Sunday Night Ramblings, September 08, 2019

I am currently working on the second to the last flash for October. This is the Wednesday flashes as I had already finished the Friday ones. Soon, October will be scheduled completely and in the bag.

For November, all my Friday flashes are done and scheduled. I need to finish my OMS story for posting for the challenge in November on A03 and then I will move on to my OMS Wednesday flashes for November. There are four Wednesdays in November.

Whew. Once that is all done, which I hope is this week, I will have everything written for October and November and so can than move on to updating another story on AO3. December stuff can wait just a bit.

I did manage to update The Space in My Bed. When I do update it will probably be Stranded 3, but we shall see.

In other news, the Insurance did pay us for the garage door, so now we have to order the door and wait until that comes in before we can get it installed. We’ve been told it can take a month! It’s never easy! But the insurance paying was good news.

Thursday Rambles and Updates

I’m working on other updates (getting my Fall Spirk’s flashes done through November, I got next Wednesday’s flash done, and there are some other things I’d like to get taken care of writing-wise) so this basically means a short wait for the next AO3 update, which will be The Space in My Bed, before another update for Stranded 3. Those might be pushed to Sunday and beyond into next week. But you can expect the first song flash tomorrow.

Saturday afternoon and evening I will be at the sister’s. She’s having wood floors put into her house next week so we’re going there Saturday to help her pack some stuff up as a result. We’ll have dinner and sit out on her patio afterward. We will consider it the last hurrah of Summer even though we can expect it to remain quite warm here.

Still working on the garage door stuff. We had the last estimate yesterday of four estimates. We’ve submitted everything to insurance and are just waiting. All these places have to order a door which can take additional weeks until we can get it done so we are hoping we can get that ordered soon. Nothing is ever simple, is it?

So I’m going to be slowing down a bit on AO3 updates so I can get all the stuff done on here too. So please bear with me. I have just two chapters left of Didn’t We Almost Have it All (And I absolutely know how I want to end it) and though I could write on them forever, on the other hand, it’s not fair to those who want their firm happy ending. So look for that soonish as well as the ending of The Ties That Bind and possibly Nine Lives. All good things must come to an end, don’t you think? So while I work on millions of other things, look for those too. Hopefully I can keep my sanity!

Ramblings, September 01, 2019

We had a smashing time at the Hollywood Bowl and John Williams appeared himself. A spry 87 year old.

Of course probably his most famous music is Star Wars (even though he also wrote ET, Jaws, and Raiders of the Lost Ark among many others), and so naturally all the Star Wars Geeks were there with their light sabers.

A fun time was had by all. And we may have gotten a little smashed. I have a big time hangover.

As you know I went a little nuts and started Cadet Ashayam on AO3. Hope to get another chapter up this coming week as well as Didn’t We Almost Have it All, The Space in My Bed, and we will see what else.

It’s hot here but at least we aren’t facing a hurricane. My friend J keeps sending me stuff on Earthquakes, the latest one telling me that a previously thought dormant faultline under LA is not so dormant! Good times. It’s all kind of fascinating really. There’s so much we don’t know about this planet.

Still working on getting the garage door fixed. It’s a long and developing project/thing. Hopefully by the end of September we will have a lovely new garage door! Sheesh.

I still have flashes and OMS etc to write too but with my head pounding today who knows. We also invited the cousin over for shrimp kabobs later.

Anyhow, that’s it in my world right now. Hope yours is stable, cool and healthy
