Throwback Thursday #6

We have The Flu from the One-Shot Collection 2, first posted September 07, 2014

Jim accessed Spock’s quarters and entered into a blast furnace. He winced. He swore he almost started sweating immediately.

“Spock?”

“Here, Captain.” The raspy, barely there voice sounded like Spock. Kind of.

Jim approached the bed where Spock lay under what could only be described as a mountain of blankets and sheets. In fact he was covered by so many Jim suspected he’d absconded with those from Jim’s quarters and perhaps several other crewmembers.

He looked down at the very pale Vulcan.

“Hey, sweetheart. Bones told me you have the Norvarian flu.”

Spock nodded. His brown eyes were glazed and his hair stood on end.

Jim sat on the edge of the bed and touched his forehead. “You’re burning up. How hot do you have it in here?”

“95 degrees Fahrenheit.”

“That’s—that’s hot.”

“If you would like me to lower it—”

“No, Spock. I want you to have what you need. Are you cold?”

“Freezing.”

“Damn. I’m sorry you got sick. I’m gonna ream Bones a new one for not figuring this out before you got infected. What happened to Vulcans being immune to everything?”

“That is a fallacy. And I am half-human.”

Jim leaned down and kissed Spock’s feverish brow. “What do you need? What can I do for you?”

“I do not wish to inconvenience you,” Spock said with obvious reluctance.

“I’m on a break right now. Scotty’s on the bridge. I’m yours for the next four hours.”

Spock was quiet and simply stared at Jim.

“What?” Jim asked, stroking Spock’s hair. “What do you want, sweetheart?”

“I am told body heat is a good way of keeping warm,” Spock said, his soft voice straining. “I do not wish to infect you.”

“You won’t. I was inoculated against the Norvarian flu when I was on Tarsus. It was one of the few good things from those days.” Jim did not look forward to roasting to death under the covers with Spock but he also would do just about anything for his still secret lover.

Jim removed his shirts and then reached to yank off his boots.

“Are you certain?” Spock whispered. “I do not wish to make you unhappy.”

“You make me happy. Everything else doesn’t matter.”

“Computer, lower temperature twenty degrees,” Spock ordered.

“You didn’t have to do that.” Jim stood to remove his pants and boxers.

“With you in bed beside me I will not need it.”

Jim smiled and slipped under the covers. Spock immediately pulled Jim to him and plastered him against him, his arms looping around Jim’s middle. Spock gave a contented sigh and Jim decided his discomfort was worth it to make Spock happy.

Jim woke up to the sound of someone entering Spock’s quarters. He blinked his eyes blearily, trying to struggle up from the Vulcan who had decided to make Jim his bed. Spock was too heavy and would not budge.

“Okay, Spock, this should make you feel a lot better,” Bones declared from right next to the bed.

Uh-oh.

Spock stirred and began to move off Jim. “Doctor?”

“Yeah, I—Jim!” Bones had lifted the blankets that covered them.

Jim smiled sheepishly even as Spock tried to cover Jim from Bones’ gaze.

“Doctor, please let go of the blankets,” Spock said. “You are exposing the captain.”

“I can see that!” Bones said, dropping the blankets and covering his eyes.

Spock tucked the blankets around Jim. “Why are you here?”

“To give you a shot! You’re supposed to be sick.”

“And I am. The captain was keeping me warm.”

“God.”

Jim laughed. “I think you might be making it worse, Spock.”

“Jesus, Jim. Spock? Spock is your lover?”

“That is not your business, doctor.”

Bones rolled his eyes. “I think the cat’s out of the bag now, Spock.”

“The cat, doctor?”

“Never mind.” Bones stabbed Spock in the neck with a hypospray. “This should make you feel a lot better. Almost as good as new.”

“Looks like you lost that wager, Bones,” Jim said with a huge grin.

“Well, how was I supposed to know you’d lost your damn mind?”

“To what do you refer, doctor?”

Bones snorted. “I can tell he’s feeling better already. I’m going. And I just have to say, no details.”

“Details?”

“Shut up, Spock. Though, I gotta know, when? How?”

“One month and two and a half weeks ago,” Spock replied. “If you desire hours and minutes as well as seconds—”

“I don’t,” Bones interrupted.

“And as for how,” Jim said. “That’s easy. Spock was upset I got hurt during a landing party and when you released me he attacked me and fuc—”

“La, la, la,” Bones said loudly, plugging his ears. “Forget I asked. In fact, forget I was here. In fact, I never was.”

They both watched as Bones practically ran out of Spock’s quarters.

“I believe I have won the wager, Captain.”

Jim shook his head and then frowned up at Spock. “What?”

“I placed an anonymous wager.”

“You-you did? But Spock, that’s-that’s cheating.”

“Is it?”

“Yes, because you had inside knowledge.”

Spock nodded. “I see. I suppose I must forfeit my winnings. I am not used to gambling.”

Jim smiled. “Yeah, I know. How do you feel?”

“I am greatly improved.”

“Good. I think I’m due back on the bridge soon. I’d like to get a shower.”

“Do you desire company?”

Jim’s eyes widened. “Do you feel that much better?”

“Affirmative.”

Jim licked his lips. “Hot damn. Then, yeah. Hell, yeah. If you’re sure.”

“I am sure.” Spock leaned down to kiss him, pressing him into the mattress.

Jim groaned. “Maybe the shower can wait.”

Flash Fic, November 04, 2020

Spock knew his silence was bothering Jim as they made the journey to New Vulcan. He knew it by the furtive glances Jim kept throwing his way.

But the truth was Spock was at a loss what to say to Jim, what to say to anyone, really.

He was, of course, grateful for Jim’s support and offer to go to New Vulcan with him. He hadn’t really wanted anyone else to go with him, though Nyota had half-heartedly offered. The end of their romantic relationship, finally for good, had been too recent and too raw for both of them, and though he had appreciated that she had even bothered to make the suggestion, he was just as happy to be able to say that Jim had already pledged to make the trip with Spock.

But Spock’s nerves were raw and he entirely blamed his human side for the difficulties he now experienced.

“Spock.”

He had been waiting for Jim to initiate conversation with him, because Spock was well aware that it was nearly impossible for Jim to remain quiet. It just wasn’t in him.

Generally, Spock was amused by this and even entertained. His relationship, his…feelings…had definitely changed over time. But just then he had trouble finding amusement or entertainment in anything. He wondered if he simply did not answer Jim, if he would drop it.

“Hey.”

Apparently not. Jim had reached over to squeeze Spock’s arm. Spock’s gaze met Jim’s and what he saw did offer him some comfort.

“It’s going to be all right, you know.”

Spock blew out a breath. “I know that I am being altogether…” He almost said ridiculous but substituted “illogical, but it simply never occurred to me that my father would have another wife after the death of my mother.”

“Mm. I can see that. But maybe he got lonely. I don’t know. But there’s also the…uh…you know…the unmentionable.”

Spock gave his captain a look. Pursed his lips. “I only mentioned that aspect to you out of duress and I did ask you to forget it.”

Jim smiled, but it was a gentle smile. He tapped his temple. “Got a good memory, I’m afraid.”

Spock’s stomach fluttered and he knew this was absolutely not the time to discuss this at all, given the circumstances, but he’d been putting it off for so long that it was like an elephant in the room, as humans would say, and they still had hours to go before they would reach the colony.

And anyway, if what Spock wished to happen, what he thought was the case, that everything was completely returned, then Jim would have needed to know all that Spock told him at some point anyway.

“That knowledge may serve you well in the future,” Spock said quietly. “But I ask that you make no direct reference to it when we meet with my father and his new wife.”

“I know that, Spock. I’m not that much of a doofus.”

“Hardly that.”

Spock’s attention drifted elsewhere for a moment, but he was still keenly aware that Jim watched him. Finally, Spock put down the tea that he decided not to pretend he was drinking any longer.

“Jim, I am grateful for your company at this difficult time.”

“That’s a declaration of love right there if ever I heard one.”

Spock blinked at him. “A-a what?”

Jim shook his head. “Are we really going to continue to dance around the fact we’re hot for each other?”

Jim.”

Jim rolled his eyes. “That’s your scandalized tone, but there’s no one else around us right now. Am I mistaken?”

“I don’t see anyone either.”

Jim’s laugh was soft, lilting, very welcome even in these times. “That’s deflection and not at all what I was referencing.”

Spock closed his eyes and leaned toward Jim in their shuttle seat. “You are not mistaken.”

“Good. Listen, we’ll get through this together. I know what it’s like to have a stepparent. Hopefully she’s better than Frank.”

Spock looked down at his clenched hands. “She is three quarters Vulcan only. But considering our circumstances…”

“What’s the other quarter?”

His heart clenched. “Romulan.”

“Spock,” Jim whispered and put his hand over Spock’s.

He shook his head. “She is, of course, not responsible for Nero’s murder of my mother in any way and yet I…”

“I know.”

Spock looked up and met Jim’s gaze, saw the shared sorrow there. “We share that our parents were both murdered by Nero.”

“Yes, and he was a Romulan. But not all Romulans. Things are…tense with them still. I know. And there’s the neutral zone to deal with. But your father, he found something to like in her, yeah?”

Spock nodded. Moved closer to Jim. It was the absolute worse time to begin a relationship of his own with his captain, his best friend, the man he admired over all, and yet…it was also the best time.

“Yes, Jim.”

He turned his hands over to put his palm against Jim’s, thrilled by the warmth and the beginning of…everything.

Jim smiled and despite being Vulcan, despite his nerves, Spock smiled back.

Tuesday Guess the Fic #5

This fic was posted January 19, 2014 and was the first story in a series…

The first thing Bones said to him was, “You look like shit.”

Jim stood just inside the doors of the medbay, “Thanks, doc.”

Bones said something in a low voice to the nurse standing by a biobed and then he started walking toward his office. “Come on, Jim. I have what you need.”

Jim followed and Bones shut the door, then turned to the small liquor cabinet there. “Seriously, Jim. You don’t look good. Are you sick? Should I be examining you?”

Flash Fic, November 02, 2020

And so we begin with the November flashes. They will be mostly gatherings, family stuff, probably a few continuing stories.

This continues one of them…

Jim still hasn’t told his mother his decision about the Academy. He’d sent in his application right after Spock came back from his retreat and told Jim he was purging his emotions. He still felt a bit foolish for having pinned his hopes and his possible future on the possibility of more with a Vulcan he had gone on only one date with.

In a way Spock had done him a favor by setting him straight there. And his talk with Sam had been prominent in his mind when he applied.

Even after he and his mom had seen Sam off for the ship back to Earth, Jim had held back the news. After all it was certainly possible he would be turned down. Mom told him once that Tiberius Kirk, Jim’s grandfather, had been rejected after all.

Why have such an important discussion if nothing was to happen?

But when his acceptance came for the upcoming next semester, Jim knew he was going to have to tell her.

“Hello Jim.”

Jim looked up from his PADD with the acceptance. Spock stood in front of him wearing dark pants and a heavy sweater. It made Jim hot just looking at him. For more than one reason obviously.

“Hi. Nice to see you,” Jim said politely. He’d seen Spock walking from a distance with an older human woman Jim assumed was his mother.

Spock inclined his head. “And you.” His gaze moved off Jim to somewhere beside him and Jim got the weirdest feeling that Spock was nervous. “I wonder if you would consider joining me for dinner again.”

“Uh. You want to have dinner?”

“If you are free.”

“When?”

“The soonest I suppose.”

A part of him was inclined to say no. Where would it go? Spock was purging himself and Jim was joining Starfleet. But another part was curious. And he did like Spock.

“You are reluctant,” Spock murmured.

“Well. I think you should know that my time here is pretty limited now. I’ve applied and been accepted at Starfleet Academy for the next semester in January.”

Then Spock surprised him.

“I have also applied and been accepted.”

You?”

“Indeed. I have also applied for the Vulcan Science Academy. I am to meet with the board for the VSA tomorrow for their decision.”

Jim frowned. “You applied for both?”

“I was hedging my bets.” Spock fell silent for a moment. “Dinner?”

“I’ll have to check with my mother as to when she won’t need me for the shop.”

Spock nodded. “Understandable. You know how to message me, you have my contact information, please let me know when you are available.”

“Okay, sure.”

Spock walked away then and Jim went back into the ice cream shop to help his mother.

Later when the shop was closed, and they were in their apartment above the shop, Jim talked to her.

“Mom, are you getting a house here?”

She looked surprised he knew. “I am looking into it, but nothing has been completely decided. Sam told you?”

“Yeah.”

She sighed. “I know I said this was going to be short, but I like it here.  I do. And the company asked if I would stay here at least two years to get everything more permanently established. I didn’t want to live in this apartment for that amount of time.”

“I completely understand that. But Mom. Uh.”

“You want to leave,” she guessed.

Jim exhaled and then nodded. “I applied for acceptance into Starfleet Academy and I just received word that I can attend beginning with the January semester.”

“January? That’s only two months away.”

“Yeah. If you want me to cancel or postpone it—”

“No, no, don’t be silly. Of course you should go. I’m just adjusting to having neither of my sons with me. Empty nest, they used to call it.” Her smile was sad, but it was a smile.

“It’s still two months away.”

She wiped her eyes then and hugged him. “Congratulations, Jim. I know you’re going to be wonderful.”

“Thanks,” he whispered. “And, uh, Spock wants to have dinner with me again.”

She gave him a look. “That guy that dumped you after one date?”

Jim laughed. “He didn’t dump me. You have to be something to be dumped, Mom. But yeah, him. I was surprised but he asked.”

“When?”

“I don’t know. Maybe tomorrow night? He’s meeting with the VSA in the afternoon I guess about applying there.”

“I’m sure I can cover the shop if that’s what you’re asking.”

“Thanks Mom. For everything.”

She hugged him again and then went to go have her video conference with her superiors at her company.

Jim messaged Spock.

Tomorrow night?

A moment later.

Yes.

You’ve probably guessed by now that I am setting this up for Spock to give his FU to the VSA like he does in the film, so that he and Jim can join the Academy together in January.

Happy Halloween

Having a very small family gathering today. Halloween Tea with sandwiches, sweets, tea, festive. Should be fun. Then tonight I shall watch Halloween. We won’t get any trick or treaters due to the “strongly discouraged” proclamation from our County. We don’t really get any here anyway. Last year we had one and some years NONE.

Flash Fic, October 30, 2020

Let’s end the month with a little Vanik!

Vanik was following Jim around the apartment Jim shared with his Uncle Spock. Vanik had arrived a short time at Jim’s invitation. To Vanik’s delight there had been glazed covered donuts and cream puffs waiting.

He’d barely had time to enjoy them though, as Jim was now taking him around, speaking of elaborate plans.

“I figure here I’ll hang webs. Maybe even spiders.”

“Is that the usual practice?”

Jim grinned. “Yep. And maybe some ghosts and witches too.”

“A witch?”

“Yeah, you know. Pointed hat, wart on her nose.”

Vanik nodded. “You are, as they say, going all out for your Halloween party.”

“Well, it’s only once a year. I’m going to have food and drinks too.”

“What did Uncle Spock have to say about all this?”

Jim smiled. “You know I’m good at convincing Spock.”

Vanik did know this. There wasn’t really much Spock denied Jim. And though he knew Spock wasn’t fond of such things, Vanik knew Jim hadn’t had any trouble talking Spock into it.

“What kind of food are you going to have?”

“Finger stuff, it’s easier. Bones makes a killer meatball so I figure we can make them look like eyeballs.”

“Spock does not eat meat,” Vanik reminded him.

“Right, so I’ll also use a melon baller and make honeydew eyeballs.”

“May I have another cream puff?”

Jim waved in their direction. “Sure sure.”

Now that Vanik thought about it, the cream puffs could make pretty good eyeballs too.

“We can make those fat pretzels into fingers and like paste a slice of almond on the end with frosting as their nail. Trust me, it’ll be cool. You can help if you want.”

Vanik did. Any time he could spend with Spock and Jim, he was all for it.

“You’ll need a costume.”

Vanik paused mid-chew. “A costume?”

“It’s a costume party, kiddo.” Jim looked at him. “How about Eddie Munster?”

“What is an Eddie Munster?”

Jim picked up his PADD, stabbed at it as though he hated it, and then handed it to Vanik with a grin.

“Eddie Munster.”

“Hmm.” Vanik grabbed another eyeball…er…creampuff. “There is a certain resemblance. I could make it work. What are you going as, Jim?”

“A zombie red shirt.”

Vanik stared at him. “A…what?”

“Um, well, just wait. You’ll see.”

Vanik shrugged. Adults were incomprehensible at times. “What will Uncle Spock be?”

“That’s an interesting question.” Jim dug into a large bag. He pulled out decorations, Vanik assumed, were appropriate for Halloween.

Just then the door of the apartment opened and Spock entered the apartment.

“Vanik, I was unaware you were stopping by.”

Vanik noticed the disapproval there but this time he could not help but be smug in his response.

“I was invited over by Jim.”

Spock glanced at his boyfriend. “Is that true?”

“Sure is.”

Spock looked back at Vanik. “Your father will not be pleased at how many sweets you are eating.” He shook his head. Turned back to Jim and noticed Jim had a life sized plastic skeleton in his hands. “What—”

“For the Halloween Party,” Vanik supplied helpfully.

“Halloween…Party.”

“I’m going as Eddie Munster and Jim is going as a zombie wearing red. What are you going as, Uncle Spock?”

Spock’s right eye was twitching. “The Invisible Man as I will not be…”

Jim arched both brows at Spock. He said nothing whatsoever. Just arched those bushy brows.

Spock sighed. “I do not know yet.”

Jim smiled then and once more Uncle Spock blushed.

Vanik held out a creampuff. “Eyeball?”

Spock scowled. “What?”

“Never mind.” It was the last one and Vanik bit into it. Spock probably didn’t eat them anyway.

Happy Halloween and on to November next! November’s theme is family and gatherings.

Throwback Thursday #5

This short fic was published September 08, 2016 and is TOS Old Married Spirk

Together

Jim wouldn’t stay out here long. It was chilly. Actually chillier than he’d thought it would be when he’d decided to step outside on the balcony to view the lights of the city as evening turned to night.

He shivered at the cold breeze that seemed to go right through his flannel shirt. Such temperatures wouldn’t have bothered him so much even ten years ago. But a lot had changed since then. He gripped the railing with one hand and lifted his glass of whiskey to his lips with the other.

The door to the apartment opened behind him.

“You should come inside.”

“In a minute,” he told his husband.

Though he heard no sigh coming from Spock, Jim felt it from their bond even still. The door closed and Spock was by his side, as usual, standing at the railing overlooking the city.

“I thought you were not going to indulge anymore,” Spock said quietly.

“It’s only one glass.”

“True. But you did say it had more of an effect on you these days.”

Jim nodded. “I’m old, Spock. Old and fat.”

“I prefer the term pleasingly plump.”

Jim chuckled. “Well, sure, I prefer that too.” He shivered again and Spock moved closer to him without being asked. “Can you believe it?”

“Believe what, Jim?”

“That we made it fifty years.” Jim shook his head. “Who would have thought?”

“I would have. There has been no one else I have wanted like you.”

Jim smiled, feeling warm in spite of the chill. “There was a time when all I could think of was you.”

“And now?”

Jim drained his glass. “It’s still that time.”

Spock covered his hand. “Come inside where it is warm.”

Jim began to turn away and then stopped. “Should we give up the apartment, Spock?”

They hardly spent any time in San Francisco now. Jim preferred to spend their time in Riverside at the farmhouse and Spock preferred to make Jim happy. They’d long since stopped being actively involved in Federation or Starfleet matters. Jim still rode his horses though. Spock fretted about it and tried to pretend he wasn’t fretting.

“Do you believe when we leave here that we will ever return?” Spock asked.

Jim thought about it. Really thought. They didn’t travel well these days, either of them. Though for Spock it was mostly because he didn’t want to travel without Jim. He’d turned down many invitations so that Jim wouldn’t be left alone. “I’m not sure.”

“It is paid for, so there is no harm in keeping it, should you desire.” Spock took his arm and helped him make his way back inside the apartment. “There is no need to make any decision now.”

“You’re right as always, Mister Spock.”

Jim eyed his walker that sat just inside the door of the apartment and decided to forgo it. With Spock’s help he easily made it to his chair in the living room.

“What would you like to drink now?” Spock asked, removing the whiskey glass from Jim’s hand. “Tea?’

Jim grimaced. Even after all these years he never quite acquired the taste for the tea Spock enjoyed so much. “Coffee.” He smiled. “Better make it decaf.”

He leaned his head against the headrest of the chair and closed his eyes as he heard Spock moving around in their kitchen.

Fifty years.

Together.

Oh, sure, they weren’t always a couple during that time. Jim had been a fool and Spock had been stubborn. But after all this time, Jim hardly remembered when Spock wasn’t in his life. By his side.

“Here you are, ashayam.”

Jim took the coffee and opened his eyes to smile at his husband, who sat next to him in his own chair, holding his delicate teacup.

“You still steal my breath,” Jim told him.

“And you are still illogical,” Spock replied, though Jim felt his affection through their bond.

Jim chuckled. “True. But I do have my moments, Mister Spock.”

“Moments?”

“Of logic.”

“Indeed. And they are always surprising.”

Jim smirked and took a sip of the decaf. “What do you think? Another fifty years?”

Spock inclined his head. “I am willing if you are, Jim.”

He reached over to offer two fingers to Jim who willingly met them.

“I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Flash Fic, October 28, 2020

“What are you doing out there anyway?”

Nyota’s voice seemed to echo off the walls of the buildings around Spock as he continued walking along the cobbled path in the middle of the park about a mile from his apartment and Starfleet Academy.

“I am meeting my date.”

“Who is this guy?”

“I am not entirely certain. It is, as you would say, a blind date.”

“Spock? Is that wise?”

“Someone my mother set me up with. I cannot imagine she would set me up with someone untoward.”

“Hmm. I guess not.  But it’s late. Where are you meeting him?”

“At the other entrance of the park and then we are to go for tea and coffee at the twenty-hour hour café.”

“Why didn’t you just meet there?”

Spock’s steps faltered slightly. “I am not certain. He just said to meet at the other entrance and we would go together.”

He paused looking up at the full moon. There were clouds on the edge that if they moved a little would cover up the moon. And Spock knew there was a possibility of rain that night.

Spock heard a distant rustling and then it seemed to be coming closer to his position. And then a low…growl.

“Spock? You okay?”

“I…believe so. I heard an indistinguishable sound.”

“Get out of that park as fast as you can, Spock. I don’t like this.”

“I tend to agree. I will contact you when I am on the other side. Spock out.”

He shoved the communicator into his pocket and quickened pace.

He was approaching the entrance when something ran across the path directly in front of him about a hundred yards away. Spock stilled.

He was not certain he was seeing correctly for it looked to be either a very large dog or a wolf. There were no wolves in San Francisco.

It stopped, turned, and stared at Spock. The teeth bared and he heard that same low growl. From where Spock stood the creature’s eyes seemed to glow preternaturally from within.

Suddenly it got darker and Spock dared a glance up, noting the clouds were moving in front of the full moon.

The creature whimpered and then dashed off, back into the shrubbery.

Spock waited only a moment before hurrying forward and in a run to the entrance.

He texted Nyota instead of calling her.

There was no one there at first, but only a moment later, a man appeared.

“Hey. There you are.”

Spock stared in rapt attention at the man. He was beautiful with sandy hair and sapphire blue eyes and a bright, warm smile.

“Spock right? Jim Kirk.”

Kirk held out his hand as though to shake Spock’s and Spock very nearly put his hand out to take the other man’s.

But then Jim Kirk dropped his hand, but not the bright smile. “Sorry. Old habits. You okay? You look a little pale.”

“Did you…come by way of the park?” Spock asked instead of answering.

“Sure. Why?”

Spook shook his head. “Did you see a…wild dog a moment ago?”

“A dog?” Jim laughed a little. “No. Nothing like that. Did you?”

“Perhaps. I am not one generally given to delusions,” Spock said primly. The clouds had entirely covered the moon now.

“Sorry. I didn’t see anything.” Jim moved closer. “You ready to go have our date?”

“I am, yes.” He fell into step next to Jim. “Our mothers are friends.”

“Yeah, my mom said. I’m in command track at the Academy.”

“Science.”

“Cool. I love really smart guys.”

Spock arched a brow. “Indeed.”

They went into the café and had their beverages. They spent a long time talking and made plans to see each other the next day for dinner.

Jim walked Spock to his apartment. “Back to the dorm for me. Have a good night, Spock. See you tomorrow.”

Spock was only mildly surprised when Jim leaned in and kissed him. But it was a very pleasant one.

He went up the stairs to his apartment and was inside and in his bedroom, about to close the open window because the air coming in was quite cold.

His communicator chirped so he flipped it open. “I am home now, Nyota.”

“Good. How’d it go?”

“Very well. I am seeing him tomorrow.”

She chuckled. “Cute?”

“Gorgeous.”

He heard a howl then that made his skin prickle and a chill go up his spine.

“Spock?”

He closed the window. “Nothing. Yes. It was good. Very.”

Tuesday Guess the Fic #4

The first chapter of this fic (one of my favs) was June 15, 2016. It was a reader prompt of sorts. Something this person wanted to write but never felt they could.

“Hey!”

“You got a reason to be yelling, kid?”

“Name’s Jim, remember?’ Jim Kirk slung his bag onto his new bunk. Damn it was tiny. He wasn’t convinced his legs wouldn’t dangle down off the edge. And how was he supposed to get it on with anyone in such a tiny bed. He picked up the plain white envelop that simply read Jim. ”You leave this for me?”

His roomie, Leonard McCoy, or so he’d learned on the transport there, scrunched up his face. “I got here same time as you.”

“Oh. Right.”

“Family member?”

Jim snorted at that. “Hardly. I have no family. None to speak of or speak to anyway. What do you say we get out of here and go get a drink?”

“We just got here.”

Jim grinned. “I know. And it’s already boring! Let’s get some action.”

Leonard McCoy rolled his eyes. “All right. But I’ve got a few rules.”

Jim pulled on his leather jacket. “Yeah? Like what?”

“No messes! I’m a doctor not a housekeeper.”
