Just one more part to go after his, which will appear Friday

Jim woke when his communicator watch vibrated. He thought to himself he really should have turned the stupid thing silent.

He smiled at the still sleeping Vulcan beside him.

Who knew that both of them confessing they “liked” each other would lead to this? He would have made just such a confession before had he known.

He scooted out from under Spock’s arm and rose from the bed to look at the message from the Admin Office.

Good news, Cadet Kirk, a single dormitory room has become available. Let us know by 4 PM today whether you wish to claim it.

“Jim?” Spock mumbled from the bed as he turned over to watch Jim where he stood. “Is something wrong?”

Jim smiled and went to sit on the edge of the bed, leaning down to softly kiss Spock. “Nope. But you’ll never guess what just happened.”

“What?”

“Not even going to try to guess?”

“You won the lottery?”

Jim laughed. “Nope.”

“You made captain.”

I wish.”

“You informed your mother we got married last night and she approves.”

“No…wait, did we get married last night?”

Spock shrugged. “I do not believe so.”

“That’s not like 100 percent positive.” Jim kissed him again. “They have a dorm for me.”

“One you clearly do not need.”

“Clearly.”

“I assume you told them to give it to the next cadet on the listen.”

Jim nodded. “I’m about to. As long as you’re sure?”

“I am sure.”

Jim sent his response. “We will need a bigger bed. I mean this is cozy and all but I need space to flop around.”

“I will order one today.”

“And I guess you can have the other room back as your meditation room.”

“Indeed.”

Jim smiled, blinked rapidly, and then shoo his head. “This is all moving very fast. And you’re a little vague on the marriage part.”

Spock took Jim’s hand in his and lifted it to his lips to kiss Jim’s fingers. “We will…figure it out.”

“You know I have a class soon.”

Spock pulled Jim down onto the bed. “I will let your instructor know why you missed it.”

Jim laughed. “Deal.”
