I find January to be one of my least favorite months, if not the least. The holidays are over, the decorations are down, there’s nothing really to look forward to, often the weather is crap, it still gets dark a little too early, etc.
But today I took a walk around my area at a break and took a picture of what our January trees look like. These are not ever greens obviously, I didn’t take pictures of those trees who maintain their leaves year round. But these naked trees are also part of what I don’t like about January. As you will see though you can’t beat that blue sky.

Oh I love. Especially that first pic. Like I want to paint it. It looks like birch and the blue blue sky. And the angle and composition *chefs kiss*

Thank you for posting! I miss Monday morning posts. And heck, I didn’t figure your trees often even lose their leaves. I guess the ones that do because of less daylight, not because they froze! We haven’t had leaves in weeks here. I love spring when everything is new and bursting with fresh green! I pretty much hate January most. But last February was the absolute worst for just one week in my entire life, weather-wise. I love your blue sky. Blue sky here today, too.

I hope to get back to more frequent flashes in February. I admit my preference is to write AOS and so it’s been a bit of a struggle for me to do TOS this month. I love them but I don’t really love writing them very much. And there are SOOOO many out there writing TOS I feel like I have to single handedly keep up AOS, LOL
Anyway, I recall your horrible weather last year. February is my second least favorite. A lot of bad personal things have happened over the years in February so I am not a big fan.
A lot of our leaves are, alas, knocked down by winds. I hate wind. But it is a part of life here. Too frequently. Anyway, congratulations on the blue sky and hopefully continuing mild weather there.

Well, TOS has 43 more years (actually more like 42 since amok time) years’ worth of fans and exponentially growing fanfic) on AOS, so a LOT of stuff out there. Yes, please even if you have to do it singlehandedly, keep AOS going!!

That is a beautiful blue sky.
Yeah, January sucks for all the reasons you listed.
Although, I have had a few snow days which is nice. THe snow didn’t accumulate so bad that I had to shovel much and it was mostly gone by the next afternoon.
Thank you for the pictures!

Love your photos. There is a stark beauty in the bare trees, especially when that perfect blue sky in behind them.
I too, hate January and February isn’t much better. Sigh! March can be cold and snowy, but in March there is hope that spring will come soon! We’re predicted to get snow Friday night and Saturday day. Possibly 4 – 11 inches!! Ughhhh! And of course I’m working Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights!
❤️😘

That is one thing I do not have to deal with…snow. Thank God. LOL. Our wind is horrible though.
