So yesterday I had a mental health day off from work. Did a bit of shopping and writing (I updated the last two chapters of Clarity the past few days and I am proud to have finished another one).
But just after lunch I got a text from sister to go pick up Mom who had fallen again. She had a big blood bruise on her back but otherwise seemed mostly okay. But those are the kinds of things I can expect at any time.
Today, sister gets her hair done and she’s now afraid to leave Mom alone, so I’ll be going over there shortly for several hours to watch her. This consists of me mostly sitting on the couch while she dozes in her chair.
Monday I go for my second doze of the Pfizer vaccine. I am anxious to get it over with. I have that day off too as the vaccine is in the morning and I decided might as well take the day in case of any side effects. I generally don’t get them from vaccines but you never know. I’ve been reading that, much like a flu shot, you’ll likely need to get additional shots as the years pass. Interesting times we live in for sure.
Anyway, I should have the next chapter of Cosmic Love up Monday, though I have yet to write it. Probably will tomorrow. Other than Cosmic Love, I am now down to only 6 wips. That is excellent for me. I once had 13 going at once. I’m running out of new ideas though, so maybe, I’ll stop after those 6? We will see. I mean how many times can we read about Jim meeting Spock at the Academy or Spock finally breaking up with Uhura to be with Jim?

All the times. 75,000 times. Thatโs how man times we can read about Jim and Spock finding their way to each other.
Hugs and love to you and your family and very especially to your mom. I know how tough it is. All the love. *hugs*

I would believe you could do that.
But you can’t NOT write. It’s like oxygen to you. All those times when you had WIPs and pressure to update, and suddenly you come out with a brand new 1 chapter. Or new WIP. That’s just who you are.
And readers are what WE are. You jump, we jump.
I’m so sorry about your mom. That time in between here and there, when everything is in limbo. It’s one of the worst times of life for everyone, including the patient. And not a thing anyone can do.
Let us know how the 2nd does of the vaccine goes.
I have an idea. Start writing more PINTO. There’s a ton of stuff to do there!
Win/win!! ๐

HA HA no no prompts needed! ๐
Yeah, we shall see. It is like therapy of a sort to me to write them but we will see. I think in August I will have been writing them for 8 years. That’s longer than anyone else on there I believe.

I completely understand running out of inspiration; often it seems like the stresses of life are to blame. Perhaps all you need is to step back and take a break. Even dipping into another fandom for awhile could be fun, or making the switch from AOS to the Original Series. Eventually, Iโm sure the muses will return and Iโll certainly pray that things get better soon. ๐
I had been wanting to send you a couple of ideas for your fairytales series. Iโve always enjoyed your fairytales, and had wanted to suggest a couple. A couple of lesser known fairytales, but ones I think you could have fun with, are The Snow Queen, and East of the Sun, West of the Moon. Heck, even trying out a story thatโs I Dream of Jeannie style with Jim the genie almost getting Spock kicked off the Enterprise or out of the Academy, with Uhura playing the part of Roger could be a lot of fun.
Perhaps someday Iโll try my hand at it but Iโd really like to see what you could come up with. ๐

Thanks for those suggestions! Those are cool. I don’t know the East of the Sun one, I’ll have to took it up. HA HA that is hilarious about I Dream of Jeannie.
I do write TOS on occasion but I generally prefer AOS as there are a trillion fans out there writing TOS these days and I don’t think they are as interchangeable as some do. I see people posting all the time that they could be read either way but for the most part if I am writing one or the other, that’s because that’s the one I chose to write. Also when I do write TOS it’s simply not as popular as my AOS work.
As for another fandom outside of Star Trek, I just don’t see myself getting involved that way. I love other things, Like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter, but I don’t feel inspired at all to write those.
Anyway we will see what happens and I am always happy to enjoy other’s works if the mood hits you ๐

Sorry to here how tough itโs been for your family. Itโs tough seeing a parent failing like that. Sending love and support to you all! Good for you taking a mental health day off! You deserve it and itโs certainly warranted! Congratulations on getting your second Covid vaccine Monday! I completed my Pzifer onJanuary 19th. Last night around 3 am, I randomly looked for a vaccine for my oldest daughter, who is upstate with us this weekend and I found a dose that is available tomorrow about a 45 minutes drive north. So I snagged it! Looking forward to the time when itโs as easily available as the flu shot!
Now Mister… What?! No further creations? You could write about them going on a walk and talking about alien rocks and Iโd love to see them (well it would be Spock talking about the rocks and Jim listening! but still!) Reading your stories is part of my prescribed therapy! Imma gonna get the paper prescription right away. What is your co-pay? What insurance do you take? XOX to infinity!!! Slow down your output … sure… but stop? Nooooooo……oooooo….. ooooo…. You get my drift! Lol! But seriously, I love the way you so lovingly craft a story about them. Your talent and love for the characters cannot be hidden under a bushel!

I’m sorry your mother fell ๐ฆ I hope yesterdays time with her went well.
My mother also gets her second shot tomorrow. She didn’t have any reaction to the first so hopefully that continues with the second like it did with Grammy.
I totally get it, the running out of new ideas/inspiration/motivation. I do hope, though, you get inspired to keep writing Kirk and Spock. ๐
Big hugs!
