“What?”
“I said…you’re pregnant,” Bones repeated.
“I heard you.”
“Then why’d you say what?”
“Because…what?”
“Jim.”
“Bones, that’s crazy. I’ve just started the Academy. How am I going to complete all my courses, how am I going to command a ship…how am I going to tell…”
“Spock.”
“Well, duh, but can you give me some…”
“No.” Bones nudged him. “Doorway.”
Jim turned, eyes wide, to see Spock standing in the doorway of the exam room.
“I was told you fainted and were being examined. Are you all right?” Spock rushed toward him.
“Uh.”
“T’hy’la?” When Jim did not answer at once, Spock looked to McCoy. “Doctor?”
“He’s fine, Spock. You don’t need to worry.” Bones patted Jim’s arm. “I’m going to go get you a peanut butter milkshake. Give you a chance to talk.”
Spock watched Bones go. He looked back to Jim. “What?”
“Well, Spock, it’s like this…”

Oops, Jim almost blurted the news out in front of Spock. Not the best way to tell someone they’re going to be parents! McCoy isn’t too suptle with the “Spock.” “Doorway.” Lol! Might as well cover Jim’s mouth with his hand or kick him in the shins to shut him up… well, except Spock might nerve pinch McCoy! It’s cute how Spock says what as a question at the end and Jim said what as an exclamation of disbelief.
I really want to see the follow up conversation between them as McCoy gets Jim a peanut butter shake. Yum!

Both the top pictures and the bottom pictures (no pun intended) were available as free photos on wordpress. I just looked up baby and that was among them. I thought it was the most perfect picture ever!

I absolutely love the photo above and it definitely looks like it could be Jim or even Spock with the baby. They’d both be awesome Dads!
Today I saw a video on Facebook of Dads interacting with babies and sometimes swooping in to save them, it made me think of Jim and Spock. ❤️👨👨👦👦👶👶🍼
