Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the United States.
Growing up, Thanksgiving was my second favorite holiday after Christmas. It still is.
For the last several years it’s been the one holiday we’ve been able to have at our house, which makes it even more special.
But the last few years the ever increasing greed of the retailers has dismayed me. They open earlier and earlier on Thursday now, instead of the traditional Black Friday, and it’s all because of stupid consumers who are so damn selfish they can’t stop shopping for one day to allow others to enjoy their Thanksgiving with their families. I really hate that about our citizens.
Anyway, enough about my complaining.

I agree with everything. (Except Thanksgiving is my 3rd fave holiday. Christmas 1st, halloween 2nd)
I can’t stand seeing Black Friday stuff anymore especially when they advertise that stores will be open at 6pm on Thursday. There is one store in my town that for some fucking reason is opening at noon on Thursday. Luckily my family are sane and aren’t rushing to get dinner done and get to any stores.

JC Penney’s says 3PM on Thursday. I am not impressed. I find it appalling.

I just saw that commercial and I had to shake my head. It seems like people care more about Black Friday (Thursday) than Thanksgiving and spending time with ones family. Its sad.

Christmas hands on my favorite Holiday then Thanksgiving comes in second. Hosting Thanksgiving at home with family and friends,then unwinding in the evening with our some fellow artists I know.
I don’t do Black Friday as I loathe it. I worked in my 20s as a college student at Walmart, seeing first hand the mess and craziest with that. My former colleagues who still teach public school get excited shopping on and after Thanksgiving day, not me. I agree Thanksgiving is for family and friends.
