An update

Just a brief update.

I’m pretty slow right now updating and I recognize that. I hope to get the next chapter of Our So Called Life done next. I haven’t even started it.

Besides the whole business with Mom (who is fading, to be honest, and there’s all the emotion behind that, good long life or not), M’s sister is visiting with us right now until March 31st. M is having eye surgery due to Glaucoma today as a matter of fact. So yeah. $3000 eye surgery. Ugh. It always pours when it rains.

So my time writing is quite limited right now. And I want to write, I do. But the time…

The good news is I get my first dose of the vaccine next week. I cannot wait.

I now return you to your regular programming!

Long(ish) Story Short(ish)

I’ve got my 100 word stories scheduled through next Friday. I hope to get more to finish off the month.

However, Mom is in the hospital. On top of the dementia and the stage 4 kidney disease she already had she had become extremely anemic. To the point the doctor wanted to do a blood transfusion. I won’t go into all the details here but she went to the hospital this past Tuesday and she is still there. I am not sure when she will be released as they discovered the reason for the severe anemia was Leukemia. At 94. So yeah. She has had a good long life. None of us want to put her through the horrendous treatments she’d have to go through that she wouldn’t even understand. At this point it’s likely hospice for what time she has left and if that can be done at her home we’d all prefer it, but we just don’t know at this point. Blood doc says they could give her more blood again in a few weeks but its just going to keep going down.

Anyway, I don’t know what’s going to happen this month if anything with regard to her passing, but if she does, I’ll likely not be updating for a short bit.

Thank you and I just wanted to let you know here. I don’t really talk about it to anyone but that’s what is going on.

Taking a Break

I have decided to take a break from posting here this last week of February.

I will be back March 01.

thank you and much love

The End of 2020 and Beyond

Hello Everyone

I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas or other holiday if you celebrate something else.

I hope you enjoyed my very sentimental story, Let Nothing You Dismay. For those who might wish to download it to keep, I will be uploading it to AO3 at some point this last week of December.

I know there are some of you I owe a flash story to as your title, Let Nothin You Dismay, was chosen. We’ll get to that in 2021.

And that leads me to the bad news for at least some of you.

I’m taking this last week of 2020 off from posting here (after this post obviously). I will return in some limited capacity January 04, 2021, but until that time I am taking a much needed break.

Writing this December’s 25 chapter fiction was more challenging than I anticipated to be honest and a bit stressful. I don’t think I will be repeating that effort for next December, but we shall see what I do for that month 2021. That’s a long way off now.

From January 04, 2021 to January 17, 2021, my posting will not be that frequent. No every MWF flash from that period. I will post some but not all. I will be giving my full attention to concluding My Devotion. I plan to post the very last chapter January 17, 2021, the exact 5th anniversary. I hope you are all as excited as I am about this.

I don’t know yet what the rest of January will be. But I will return to my regularly scheduled blog stuff for sure February 01, 2021.

I thank you for your patience in advance.

Now I am going to suggest some of my works for you to read the rest of this week if you are interested. If not, that’s okay too.

Happy New Year Spock and the companion Memories of You

and a sorta sad New Year’s story from 2018

His Heart Remained Cold

I am so very grateful for those of you who have stuck with me and I can hardly believe we finally are about to make it through 2020. When I was sent home to work from home from my employer on April 01, 2020 I never imagined in a million years I would still be here on December 26, 2020 and beyond. And despite this very trying year, the time has flown by for me.

I have written and concluded many stories and started more than I should have. Hopefully there is more to come in 2021.

Thank you.

Happy New Year.

Happy Thanksgiving 2020 America

If you are able to spend it with those you love and who love you, then you have much to be grateful for in 2020.

And I am grateful for your reading my fics this year and always. I cherish you.

Happy Halloween

Having a very small family gathering today. Halloween Tea with sandwiches, sweets, tea, festive. Should be fun. Then tonight I shall watch Halloween. We won’t get any trick or treaters due to the “strongly discouraged” proclamation from our County. We don’t really get any here anyway. Last year we had one and some years NONE.

Sorta Walk With Me August and Sorta Ramblings

Don’t remember if I did a walk for August so anyway, thought I’d post a few pictures around my area I took.

The last few days haven’t been bad and it even got into the high 50s at night. But Labor Day Weekend predictions are absolutely beastly with 106 on Saturday. I keep praying they are wrong.

Tomorrow will be the last of the summer themed flashes. I am still not done with September. I have 5 left to go. To be honest I am struggling because I feel like I have done everything and it’s hard to come up with something different. But maybe I am overthinking it and you’ll be okay if it’s something I’ve written before, just as long as you can read about Jim and Spock.

Anyway hope everyone has a good week.

Walk with me, July 2020

This month’s walk with me is just around my condo complex. These pictures really prove that God or Nature can do color better than anything man can come up with.

All of this bougainvillea is just amazing.

Color everywhere even by the garages lol
I love the little white flowers among the yellow
Dig these two sycamore trees
These are by one of the trash dumpsters!
Flowers by the pool we are not allowed to use
More flowers by pool we can’t use
Hibiscus
Pretty purple flowers

This Week’s Rambling 05/19/2020

Finally got my posting date for the T’hy’la Bang story. It’s June 22nd. Yaoichan12’s is June 23rd. So we aren’t first but we aren’t last either. I did manage to write a bit more and I have to have it pretty much done by the end of this month. It will be. I don’t have that much to go.

As you know I finished Cadet Ashayam and my next plan is to finish Nine Lives too. I’m already very much itching to begin fleshing out Vanik’s story, aptly named, The Matchmaker. It will be part of my Starfleet Academy series.

I plan to continue a few threads of flashes for the June flashes, so stay tuned for that.

I must admit there are some really fantastic stories on AO3 right now and it’s a little intimidating. I love it as a reader but as a writer, yeah, I’m a little envious. Ah, well. Such is life I suppose. There is always someone better than each of us at something or other I guess!

I bought myself a desk. Don’t recall if I mentioned this. But I had been at my dining room table for six weeks working from home. I have two monitors. So every single weekend I had to take my equipment down off the dining room table just so we could have a dining room table. My stuff took up a huge amount of it. Six weeks of this.

So I broke down and got a desk for about $220. It’s you know cheap Ikea type furniture, but it works. I’m off the dining room table and by the cat box, ha ha, but it is what it is. I figure I will be here at least another six weeks maybe more, so…desk it was.

We also bought a little bistro set for our patio so we can sit out there this summer and enjoy since we can’t really go anywhere. Things are starting to open up slowly but we figured sprucing up our patio was rather overdue anyway.

This weekend is Memorial Day weekend already. So it’s three days off for me and I’ll stop work at 1 on Friday like I would have if I’d been at the office but now I won’t have to walk home. I have a special flash for that Monday too.

And that’s the news that’s fit to print!
