Sunday Ramblings, 11/25/2018

Last night I went with the family to a Christmas Lights Display at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library that happens to be in our city. Above are some pictures from the displays. It cost about $17 to get in for this and I thought, that while nice, it was overpriced for how many lights they had.

My week off is over and it’s back to work tomorrow. Had a much better Thanksgiving this year than last and so far (knock on wood) I am not sick.

Decorated our place for Christmas this year all day Friday. I do mean all day. Next weekend we do the family’s house.

I’ve written a few more flash fics to get ahead on them. I’m working on a Christmasy one now that I expect to finish today and that will get me ahead through December 14th if I get it done. Yay!

Unfortunately, I have not finished my Christmas fic but am determined to do so this week. I don’t know when I will post it, but it will be ready when I do.

I did start a new One-Shot Part 6 on AO3 for those who didn’t get the notice. There are still issues with it.

I updated The Experiment and Hello Darkness, My Old Friend this week. Since I am skipping The Sight for now, next up is Nine Lives. But I’d like to wait for the Christmas story to be finished first. I am ignoring the T’hy’la bang story for now but I will be getting to that again very soon.

The damn wind is back again today. We’ve had chilly mornings though. There’s a chance of rain on Wednesday and Thursday, so we shall see. The other day it did rain overnight.

I started my Christmas movie viewing on Thanksgiving with Miracle on the 34th Street. I also have started to listen to Christmas music. Funny story. I wanted the song, Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms added to my Amazon Music Christmas Playlist on Prime. Somehow when I added it, it added three greatest hits albums by him to my Music. I had like 68 songs. I was like WTF. It was a total pain getting them back off, let me tell you!

Anyway, that is it for now. Have a great week.

The fire near us is now at 57% containment and that’s good news even though it burned over 504 structures. Up north, the “camp” fire destroyed an entire town. What a horrible couple of weeks it’s been for everyone here. I hope the winds leave us alone for a while, we need a break.

The weather report coming up for the next week or some promises a mild Thanksgiving holiday, which is very much welcome. As I have said I start my week off as the day ends tomorrow and I look forward to it even though I have many household chores.

My writing goal is to finish the Christmas story (still unnamed). I am writing the sex part at the moment. Once that story is finished I will feel much relief.

I saw on the news today something sad. A while back there was this big story about a “GoFundMe” account set up for a homeless man after he gave a woman his last $20 so she could get home. People donated all kinds of money. Now it turns out the whole thing was likely a scam to get people’s money. What kind of horrible people take advantage of warm-hearted generous people like that to steal their money and good will? These people need to go to jail and I hope they do. The moral? I say, sadly, don’t give money to any of these things, unless YOU personally know their circumstances.

Rambles of the Week, November 11, 2018

Well, this has been a challenging week to say the least.

I have been without internet and television for a few days now but it finally is back on.

Crazy dying. I still can’t quite wrap my brain around that, honestly. I keep expecting to come home and have her greet us at the door as she has for the last six years. And she…doesn’t.

I think Luna might actually like being the center of attention. We will see. M says that it’s me more than Luna that wants another one and he might be right. But there’s no hurry. We have enough to deal with right now.

The fires. Wow. I don’t even know how to describe it. We made it home Friday night. Many of my co-workers had to be evacuated from their houses. I don’t know if any of them lost their home but I guess we will know soon enough.

But as I was looking outside my bedroom window about 5:30 Friday night, I saw flames  on what looked like the hills by our townhome. I freaked out and eventually M couldn’t stand me anymore and said we’d go up to the parking lot of the mall behind our house to see what we could see. To my relief, it was quite a bit further away than I thought it was. I calmed down and we returned home. Later that night I saw that the flames were gone and all I can say is the firemen are absolutely phenomenal.

Saturday the winds calmed down. They were able to make a tiny bit of progress.

Today the winds are back with a vengeance and everyone is freaked out and on edge.Worse, the winds are supposed to last for days.

I got no writing done this weekend, obviously, except that I wrote something super quick. I got a request to start posting flash fics on Fridays again so you can expect the first one to come this Friday.

That’s the news coming from me this week. Please hope and pray for us that it doesn’t get worse.

car-free-in-woodland-hills

This corner is right by my work! There you go, a glimpse into weekday life for me.

Probably should have the next part of WDPLUF up where you are reading this but the truth is this week has been…challenging.

Nevertheless I got a lot done on my updates on AO3, so that’s something.

My Christmas story is up over 10,000 words now and I am up to the part where I am writing sex. Which of course means I am stalling! HA

Busy weekend of stuff to do both Saturday and Sunday. Ugh. You know how I feel about that.

Next to update when I can is My Heart’s a Virgin. Things were looking up for our boys as Spock asked Jim to stay. So that should be a good update. Also All I Ever Wanted is after that. Spock and Jim are experimenting with memories and mild melds.

Anyway, we’ll see what I can get done what with work and socializing etc.

Friday is Outlaw King (not Wednesday like I thought…oops)

We aren’t ready to do this in the very near future, but M and I have talked about getting another kitty for Luna and for us. I’ll keep you posted on this.

In the meantime, be well, my friends, and remember to be kind to yourself.

Leaves

Okay, so this past weekend I updated both When I Loved You and Didn’t We Almost Have it All. And did a one-shot called Seriously. Not bad. Wasn’t sure I was going to get to update anything this weekend.

During the week I will try to get an update to my Kirk family story, The Ties That Bind. One may wonder where Spock is in this story. He’s coming. I promise. That’s the last one that hasn’t been updated since September. So I’m making progress.

Where My Demons Hide comes after that and I am on the course for the end for that one. I hope to have it finished soonish. Maybe when I get to it, I will just write it to the end. Maybe not. Because, I also need to finish the Christmas story and get serious on the T’hy’la Bang story.

The good news for those last two is they will be finished when posted. A really hard thing for me folks! HA.

Wednesday is Outlaw King day, so that means a certain actor’s penis. Yes, I will be watching. Duh. The movie is apparently violent but we shall see how that goes. I just want to see him, beard and all, LOL.

No movie this week as there’s nothing really out we want to see. I did finally see Halloween. I liked it. There were some head scratching moments, I will not deny. But for the most part, it was decent. Not It decent, but decent. Speaking of King, I also saw they are remaking Pet Semetary. I swear they can’t come up with anything new to make.

As I write this, my lower back is killing me. It’s hell getting old, you know?

Ramblings of the Tired One, 10/18/2018

You may have noticed that I don’t have a new chapter up of Where Do People Like Us Float. I meant to. I even started the new re-written chapter but I never quite got it finished and I just didn’t have the energy to finish it up last night, so I do apologize. When I do get it done, I will go ahead and post it.

I did update The Mysterious One. Next up should be The Sight and Nine Lives. Whenever I get them done.

I watched Young Frankenstein last night instead of writing. I plan to take it very very easy this weekend. I do have some shopping to do but for the most part I am going to do my best to be a shut-in. I’m a little burned out and a little depressed. It’ll pass.

Supposed to be hot this weekend. Sigh.

Rambles September 20, 2018

So this sticker came in something M got for his birthday. I think it looks like Lil Spock. Of course M says that us Trekkies see Spock everywhere. HA.

LilSpock

I got my updates done for When I Loved You and Didn’t We Almost Have it All. I thought Where MY Demons Hide was next but it’s actually The Ties That Bind. Huh. Wonder if I forgot to put that on my spreadsheet. Okay, I might go ahead and get that done in the next few days. I did get a lot of progress done on the Christmas story so yay!

It’s supposed to be in the low 90s the rest of this month, sigh. I was hoping it would stay in the 80s. It still stays fairly cool at night at least.

Don’t really have anything else to say. Just wanted to share the picture 🙂

Ramblings, September 4, 2018

Began part 2 of My Devotion today. Look for it on AO3.

I was home today so I started a little bit of pre-autumn decorating.

Those are battery operated leaf lights in case you can’t tell. I also went through my closet and got rid of some stuff and then took it to the Goodwill.

Alas it’s back to work tomorrow and supposed to be 100 this weekend. Sigh.

At the end of this month, our Maine cousin who comes almost every year to visit is coming and we decided to do something special this year. We are going to stay over one night at the Queen Mary in Long Beach. This is a very famous place. And they have great restaurants and bars. They start their Halloween thing the same night we are going but we aren’t going to that.

Here’s an example of a room there.

It’s a fun place with lots of atmosphere and we think she will just love it. Likely we will go to Sir Winston’s Restaurant when we go which is very fancy.

Something for sure to look forward to.

I think next up is What Happened to Spock. So we shall see!

Ramblings to Send August Away

You may have noticed my lack of updates on my OMS story here better known as The Love of a Lifetime. I plan to get back to it soon but there is no denying my current mood is unmotivated.

Got off work early today at 1:00. Our department is very cool about this. We only have to work a six hour day before  major holidays but sill get paid for 8. A small and appreciated perk.

The other day at the grocery store they had a display of my favorite cereal already!

I didn’t get any though. I can’t eat the same things I usually eat these days but I may give in at some point. We will see.

I think next up to update is Nine Lives. Look for major developments in that one. After that update, I am not sure what I’m going to do.

I have an extra long weekend though I think I have plans on both Saturday and Sunday.

I’m glad to see September and will be even more so when Autumn officially starts later in the month. I love autumn. Decorations, foods, tea, holidays (Halloween and TG). I should have been born in Fall but I was not.

I’ve made no particular decisions about my internet presence.
