My apologies for the delay in getting something up here. I’m feeling a little ennui these days and am fairly uninterested in writing anything, to be honest.
Anyway here it is.

When the light in his dorm room suddenly came on, Jim quickly shielded his eyes.
“Jim?”
“Yeah, can you dim that light or something?”
The light dimmed to acceptable brightness and Bones’ face suddenly appeared next to him. Fortunately his face wasn’t floating in the air and was attached to the rest of him.
“Thought you had a date with the Vulcan.”
Jim groaned. “Canceled. My head’s killing me.”
“Migraine?”
“A bitch of one.”
A moment later he felt a hypo inject into his arm.
“That should give you some relief.”
“Thanks.”
“Sorry about the date, Jim. I know you were looking forward to it.”
Jim sighed. “Yeah. I’m sure that’s over.”
Bones frowned. “Because you canceled?’
“I canceled with a headache. The lamest reason known to man.” He paused. “Or Vulcans. Everyone know when you cancel something with a vague ‘headache’ it’s just an excuse.”
Bones smirked. “Well, it wasn’t with you, though.”
“He won’t know that. And his reaction wasn’t very positive.”
Bones patted his arm down lower where he didn’t just give him a shot. “Sorry, kid. Get some rest.”
And after a while of lying there, closing his eyes, Jim was able to fall asleep. He wasn’t sure for how long, but when he opened his eyes, his migraine was at least manageable. He no longer felt nauseous, and he could smell food.
Pizza.
Jim sat up.
“Bones?”
“I am not the doctor.”
His heart thudding, Jim called out, “Spock?”
And yes Spock appeared, with a plate containing two slices of cheese pizza. “I thought you might be hungry.”
“I-I am. How did you—”
“McCoy contacted me and asked me to come over.”
Jim smiled. “Wow. Thanks, Bones.”
Spock’s lips twitched. He handed the plate to Jim. “How is your head?”
“A bit better, thanks.”
“You suffer from these headaches frequently?”
“Every few months.”
Spock pulled up a chair. “Perhaps I can alleviate this one.”
“Yeah?”
“I have some Vulcan methods.”
“Wouldn’t want you to go to any trouble.”
“It’s no trouble. A simple matter of touch telepathy.”
“Will it hurt?”
“Not at all.”
Jim thought about it a moment, then nodded.
Spock’s hand came up to rest on his face and Jim wouldn’t exactly say it hurt, but he felt like a little sizzle in his skin.
Then Spock’s hand dropped away and he was staring at Jim in wonder.
Jim frowned. “That did help but I did feel something. Was that how it is supposed to feel?”
“No, it is not. You are…”
“Then what?”
“My T’hy’la.”

Oooh I see what you did there.
And oh I love that. That Bones played wingman and that Spock ran right over to take care of Jim. And then bam! T’hy’la.
Excellent.

Kudos to Bones for giving Spock worthwhile advice! I love Bones for helping Cupid in this case. Also, I love seeing Spock make this discovery… that Jim is his T’hy’la! Thank you for writing this and for sharing it with us. Spock taking care of Jim, especially when they are in the very beginnings of a relationship, just makes me smile!
