So far I haven’t used much in the Christmas in July suggestions so I apologize ahead of time. I’ll see what I can do for the rest of the month but the two I’ve written so far don’t really. For the most part people suggested actual Christmas stories rather than July stories which surprised me a bit! The two I have done so far are set in July.
That being said I got a private suggestion from someone that I might expand to be a “holiday” story October through December as it seemed fairly complicatedish and cried out for more. So we will see.
Anyway expect the first one on the 3rd.
Very busy few days coming up. Sister’s birthday dinner Friday. Saturday we are going into Hollywood to the famouse Chinese Theater (formerly Grauman’s but same place) on Hollywood Boulevard to meet my nephew and his partner for lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe and then to see the old man Indiana Jones movie at the theater.
Monday and Tuesday are busy with Independence Day stuff.
And for anyone who cares, yes, I am still waiting on the HOA for the “approval” of my HVAC. I got the neighbor’s okie dokie several days ago but we still wait. I hate bureaucracy. Obviously we can expect not to have air until at least after the holiday, I am guessing mid-July. AND also the stupid ceiling repair as they have to rip that out just to do it. Just ugh.

Ugh I’m still so mad on your behalf. It’s such crap! Don’t melt okay?
I thought you might take some of the ideas and twist em so they fit in July. Either way I’m totally looking forward to whatever you write. Flashes make me happy 😃

I HATE bureaucracy in almost all forms (i LOVE the regulations that force smell control on petroleum/gas plants and cattle feed yards! Texans know those scents too well.)
I’m always cool if you only use your own ideas. That’s what inspires you to weave us a great story. There are a few prompts I’ve given you in the past that I ache to see you write, and you’ve done so when you knew they meant the most to me. EXCEPT for the Pinto one every writer refused to write for me and I had to do it myself – which turned out to be one of my best stories, I think. But you would have made it better. Oh well. That’s a 5 year old whine that does NOT get better with age.
I look forward to your Christmas in July gifts to us.
OH OH OH – are you gonna go see Chris get his Star on the walk of fame???

I saw a mini-documentary of the New London School explosion in 1937 the other day. They mentioned in it that it was the one of the reasons that they gave Natural Gas a recognizable odor.
Anyway, I didn’t realize Chris was going to get his star but I looked it up just now and I see! in 2024. Good. He definitely deserves it.

Yeah, they just announced it earlier this week. But I never saw WHEN it was happening.
Yeah, that natural gas smell isn’t the same as a petroleum plant smell – it blankets the entire town with a miserable acrid smell. Borger, TX was an unbearable place to visit until they passed those regs. And now it smells just as pleasant as any town. Great people! Just wow did it used to smell awful. Nowhere to get away from it. I was offered a teaching job there and I wanted it so much. But between where I lived and there were some treacherous, winding hill roads that during the worst of winter storms are unpassable. So…. but I loved the people. Nicest people I’ve ever met. Nicest students. Nicest cheerleaders! (Yeah, it’s a story, as always.)

Ah gotcha I bet it stinks! Glad they somehow got rid of it. Never heard of Borger but now I might have to look it up lol

Hopefully its not too much longer until the HOA approves your HVAC.
Have fun at the dinner and the movies! I should be going to see the movie Sunday. I was tonight but instead we’re going to trivia 😀
Have a great weekend!

I had a whole comment printed out and my phone froze. 😢🙄😬
Sounds like you have a fun weekend coming up. Enjoy your plans! I am working Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night. Then off Monday and Tuesday nights. No particular plans yet. Maybe we’ll go to the beach. Traffic’s always heavy that day. I’ll see! 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Looking forward to reading your Christmas in July flashes. I’m sure your imagination is up for the task as usual. Not sure if I made a suggestion? Not even sure what date suggestions were called for.
Well, enjoy your holiday weekend!🎉🎊🎆🎇🍔🎊🎉

You did “I trust your choices. I’m not into melancholy. 🤷🏻♀️
Meeting for the first time at Christmas… maybe both alone at the academy and Spock sees Jim emotionally compromised and feels compelled to help him.”
That’s what you wrote when I asked!
Glad you have SOME days off. Enjoy!
