“You come here often?”
Spock frowned. Straightened and turned around to face the speaker. “Every day at this time as it is my shift.”
“Oh. I see. Well, that’s cool.”
“Cool?”
“Hmm. Bet your captain is happy to have you.”
Spock arched a brow. “He does not in fact have me. I am currently on duty and it would be highly inappropriate—”
Heavy sigh.
“You suck.”
“What?”
“You. Suck. And totally not in a good way. You are the world’s worst flirter. You are actually…fired.”
Spock watched him walk away and flounce down in his captain’s chair. He saw Nyota averting her gaze but covering her mouth with her hand.
Chekov and Sulu were having such a pointed conversation that it had to be deliberate.
Spock walked over to the captain’s chair and watched the screen for a moment.
“Would you like to get laid later?”
The captain choked. “What?”
“Is that better?”
“Uh.” He blinked. “You know what? Yes. Yes that’s better. I don’t dare let you say anything else. You’re rehired. Back to your post, Commander.”
“Thank you, Captain.”
Spock definitely heard laughter when his back was turned but when he looked everyone was looking straight ahead at their console.
Except the captain who now looked back at him, smiling, his eyes shining with mirth.
And Spock decided he was clearly not as bad at flirting as he had been led to believed.

Yeah, wish I had a dollar for every one of THOSE we heard in TOS. This is totally CANON!! They flirted mercilessly around everyone. Hands, fingers, eyes, eyebrows, eyes (yeah, listed twice because those were EVERY EPISODE). Across the bridge. Except not that much chance to flirt across the bridge as Spock was ALWAYS finding an excuse to stand RIGHT BY his captain.
I’m not complaining, mind you. That’s the way, uh huh….

Well, to be fair, men used male masseurs only for much of the 20th Century.
I mean, John Wayne was naked, lying on his stomach, below a strategically placed towel for his massage by a brute looking guy in an I Love Lucy California episode.
I would think, on the bridge is what makes that different!
But yeah, 1st officers are often little more than a Gentleman’s Gentleman. They serve the Captain. The captain’s yeoman does the food and drink and secretarial/assistant written stuff and the like, but the 1st Officer really answers only to the captain for the important stuff.
BUT if they were so straight, why did Shat play every &^%$$ scene so not straight?

This has me giggling. Spock I’d real slow on figuring out Jim’s flirting. It was the same thing when you have to explain it. But I love his come back. Definitely perfect!
