“You come here often?”

Spock frowned. Straightened and turned around to face the speaker. “Every day at this time as it is my shift.”

“Oh. I see. Well, that’s cool.”

“Cool?”

“Hmm. Bet your captain is happy to have you.”

Spock arched a brow. “He does not in fact have me. I am currently on duty and it would be highly inappropriate—”

Heavy sigh.

“You suck.”

“What?”

“You. Suck. And totally not in a good way. You are the world’s worst flirter. You are actually…fired.”

Spock watched him walk away and flounce down in his captain’s chair. He saw Nyota averting her gaze but covering her mouth with her hand.

Chekov and Sulu were having such a pointed conversation that it had to be deliberate.

Spock walked over to the captain’s chair and watched the screen for a moment.

“Would you like to get laid later?”

The captain choked. “What?”

“Is that better?”

“Uh.” He blinked. “You know what? Yes. Yes that’s better. I don’t dare let you say anything else. You’re rehired. Back to your post, Commander.”

“Thank you, Captain.”

Spock definitely heard laughter when his back was turned but when he looked everyone was looking straight ahead at their console.

Except the captain who now looked back at him, smiling, his eyes shining with mirth.

And Spock decided he was clearly not as bad at flirting as he had been led to believed.
