Happy Easter! Iβm at work. Itβs 32Β° outside at 3:30 am and quite chilly inside the building. Brrrr! Are you sure itβs not Christmas? π₯ΆβοΈ

Happy Easter everybody! Thanks Iv for the pics! (and promise of a great tomorrow morning for us).
I’ve always observed. But as an adult I’ve always personally hated Easter. The idea of God’s Only Begotten Son tortured and murdered for my sins has ALWAYS made me miserable. And I try to remind myself, He only had to do it once. it’s not like it happens all over again once a year. But still – as an older adult who finally gets it about what a monumental event that was, Easter is a much quieter day for me.
But in my childhood when most people were much poorer and didn’t shop for clothes year-round – just at the beginning of a new school year plus one other time – EASTER was that other time.
My sister and I always got a complete new outfit from the inside out for Easter. A time of new life and new beginnings. Of course with my mom, all that shopping was WAY earlier than the holiday because she made all our outerwear. But new shoes and purses and hats were bought to go with the new material. Those were always the outfits I loved the best, in Easter/Spring pastels.
I never got to color eggs with my mother, because she was an absolute perfectionist – and I’ve never been (except with music). I was one of the few kids who actually LOVED (and still do) boiled eggs. No plastic with candy or coins back in those days.
Anyway, it’s good to hear from you. Hope you are/or did win ton$$$$.
I did not. I bled money like someone slit my throat! But I had fun, nevertheless.
We did color eggs and I still love hard boiled and deviled eggs. But what we aways hunted for the little plastic eggs with chocolates and coins in them. After we went to Mass first, of course. That was always first.
