I’m so sorry! That’s one of the reasons you paid all that money to go! I wish those people were contracted to show up, rather than it all be so willy nilly and iffy when people spend so much to see them. Dang it!

Yeah I know. Unfortunately they tell you that any one of them can cancel at any time and there’s not a darn thing you can do about it.

Who else will you see and what will you attend and do that still makes it worth going? The one I went to in Dallas in 1981 was the biggest nothing burger. None of the actors was there, no seminars or get togethers. It was fun walking around seeing the merch but that was about all it was. Nothing like today’s! You don’t cosplay do you? I can’t image you have time for anything like that. But I could be wrong.

I still have photo ops with Anson Mount and Walter Koenig both on Friday
I am thinking of using my credit voucher for ZQ to pay most of the cost of a photo op with Sonequa Martin-Green and Doug Jones (Michael and Saru from Discovery). I’d have to pay $50 more but since this is likely my last convention (if not ever definitely for a long long time) I will probably do it. This will all be Friday.
Thursday is a dud as far as I am concerned, lol. It’s just George, whom I have seen several times now, and two of the minor guys from Enterprise (no Scott or I would have nabbed his photo). Friday I’ve addressed in that a lot of the Discovery people will be that day and the SNW (Ethan, Rebecca, etc), and Walter. Saturday is the gala where at night they have a show with some of the stars. TNG people are that day but also ones I have seen and had photos done with, Frakes and McFadden. Sunday is Shatner and I think Kate Mulgrew but she might be Saturday. There’s also Ron Pearlman (is that the right spelling?) from Beauty and the Beast fame all those millions of years ago who was in Nemesis I believe. They are doing a free screening of Nemesis and Wrath of Khan too.
It’s hideously expensive but a lot will be there. It was a birthday present to attend for me but food etc is outrageous. My sister and I have talked about how this is probably the last one and likely the last time for Vegas too. It’s so expensive and smoky and we have many of the same things right here in California for way less money and smoke. So this is our last hurrah I think LOL
Hell no, no cosplay. I do wear Star Trek t-shirts lol

Awesome. But I feel kinda like you do.
Zach would have been the only reason I’da been willing to pay a lot to go (I mean, if I had the money, which, obviously, I never will).
And Scott – yeah, I’da loved to see him. And Avery. But embarrassingly, more for the fact they both play piano and sing than for ST. I know, I know. Ducking here.

oh yeah the birthday present was definitely to see Zach, which is why it’s such a bummer. But it is what it is and I can’t change it. There are no refunds (except for photo ops of if the actor doesn’t show). Avery. I love him. But he is not well and hasn’t been for a number of years. I was supposed to see him in 2014 but he canceled then and the actor who played his son, Cirroc I think is his name, said he was not well. Funny thing my dad used to watch Avery years ago on a show where he played a tough guy, forget the name (might have been called Vegas lol and also starred Robert Ulrich). Anyhow, we will make the most of what we have and enjoy it but as I said this is likely it for us. And the crowds cause me some anxiety so you will never see me at Comic Con for instance! So this was it for my chance to see any more AOS guys (having seen Karl and Simon in 2014). Alas it was not to be

We shall see. Chris doesn’t show up to ANYTHING unless the studio makes him (thus why he’s been to Comic Con a few times, those are Studio mandated appearances he agreed to)

doggone it! This should be one for Zach too! Since he said he would. It’s just ONE day and he can well afford to fly back for one day! And HE should have had it in his contract with AHS that he had a prior commitment that day at this convention when he took the job. I’m sure they wanted him badly enough to make the allowance.
WHICH makes me think of your Enterprise story – so now I hafta go read it again. As if 10 times isn’t enough already! (Hint – I could never read it enough times)

Someone else canceled TODAY and literally things start tomorrow. They aren’t that well known but still. These people are contracted but apparently they are given a VERY generous out and Creation (who runs this) should basically tell us we know you paid a fortune for this but don’t bother relying on anything we say. I’m serious. Badly run and notorious for stuff like this. Wil Wheaton refused to deal with them anymore years ago because of their practices. Who knew Wesley was the smartest! HA

I’m sorry but I guess I’m kinda the only person who has ALWAYS felt this way – that Wil has been BADLY mistreated, disrespected (especially by – no, wait – by EVERYBODY on TNG and Shat). He did an amazing job and I’ve never understood the hate. Ever. He played a boy genius. Was it jealousy?
Seriously – writing for Picard to say, “Shut up Wesley.” What crap.
And as far as I know, he’s never been apologized to.
And on the show, he was usually right when everyone else (but Data) was wrong.
I haven’t forgiven them for that either.
Almost as much as the s**&^^^*& way they killed off Kirk in Generations and I don’t even like Shat’s Kirk.
