It’s less than a week until my oral surgery and I am petrified. Yes, it’s routine. But it isn’t for me. So, and I mean this absolutely sincerely, please pray for me.
Now that’s out of the way.
I have written the flashes for Friday and Monday and will try to get Wednesday (day of surgery done) and following Friday done. I don’t know how I’ll feel after that but I’ll do my best. As you know I am also writing Cabin in the Woods.
Should I Fail to Deliver on any Stories for Whatever reason, see below.
Most of you will ignore these recommendations but I am throwing them out here just the same. Maybe someone will see it and finally give them a read.
These are the Spirk fanfics I currently HIGHLY recommend. I have read them countless times and I find them breath taking. The majority I am insanely jealous of their talent. Please note some of these have changed from what I used to recommend as I found new favorites. Where available, I provide links.
Shine Like the Sun (not new, but I can’t not mention this one. Cream of the crop good.
Rhadamanthus – I have no idea what that word means if it means anything, but there’s just something about this 6,000 word story that touches me and calls to me. It takes place after Into Darkness, written before Beyond.
In Any Universe This is the first of two stories by this author I just love. This one had mirror elements. About 11,000 words. Basically Mirror Spock loses Mirror Kirk and goes so insane he has to have AOS Kirk. It’s excellent.
The Greatest of These – the other one. Amazing. Truly. Her Spock and Kirk are just so accurate and so perfect. It’s 18 chapters. I have read it like 600 times. Just read it again. They are on a mission in a shuttlecraft and it crashes, Kirk is gravely injured. And Spock refuses to let him die. Stellar.
How We End – A priestess tells Kirk and Spock they will one day be in a relationship. Jim knows how it starts. Spock knows how it ends.
The Steadfastness of Stars – As far as I know this is the only thing she’s ever written for Spirk but it’s incredible. I’ve also read this one 600 times. 61,000 words and very detailed but so worth it. I love her Kirk and Spock and everything about them.
Those are my current recommendations if you want to take a gander.
Thanks for your support.

Uh, don’t think I didn’t notice that there’s not even ONE of my fics in that list.
Not even one.
Not even my Pinto gifs.
I may have to reconsider praying for you. I mean, I was all for it when you first asked, but then I kept reading. And thinking, well the NEXT one will be one of mine. Or, surely mine was at the end and somehow wordpress just cut it off. You might wanna doublecheck, those ratbast***s!!
Other than that, I was already guessing you’d write ahead to be sure those days were covered during your oral process. But knowing is more comforting than guessing, so thanks.
I’m hoping that the day after your extraction, you’re gonna be laughing at yourself, wondering what the big deal was! I mean, that’s far preferable than spending the next day in the hospital or something, right???? (Like, apparently I think there’s nothing possible in between those extremes).
I went through mine soooooooooooooooooooo easily and almost pain free, and again, mashed potatoes, you know? Have ’em on hand and enjoy the heck outa them. I mean, more than usual.
The dentist gave me my tooth. I can’t put it on a necklace or anything, but looking at your xray, heck, it’d be easy for you to thread a chain through that puppy and wear it for all the world to see. “I spent $6,472 dollars at the dentist and all I got for it was this weird necklace.”
A constant reminder to NOW GO TO THE DENTIST ONCE IN A WHILE, DAMMIT!! At least more than once every 30 years or so.

😀 Oh I left off many favorites on the list, many fine examples such as yours
Yes definitely a reminder
And a reminder to change dental plans during open enrollment at my job since they made me wait so long for this while I am in pain. That also, yes.
My part is about $1300 or so I am told
No mention has been made of presenting me my teeth (all four as they are taking my three wisdom teeth…fun fact I never got a fourth, I am a mutant, not in the way of the X-Men or anything but still)

Hey, it’s a super power to not have wisdom teeth naturally. I look forward to when all those things evolve out of humans because for so many, they’re nothing but trouble. I had one growing toward my optic nerve!
“such as yours” – LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!

Yeah one day new babies will be born never having had them as they are left over from an ancestor and we no longer really need them

All 4 of my wisdom teeth were taken out at the hospital – took 2 hours!!!!!!!! And I had an over night stay. Of course, that was back when insurance paid for what the patient needed. Did you know hip replacement – MAJOR SURGERY – is not day surgery and go home? We pay all this money for insurance. And that is how we’re treated. I ain’t seen no bone knitter thingy like Star Trek yet.

Yeah everything is outpatient these days! it’s nuts
And nope I wish we had those advancements from Star Trek. Bones could merely zap my teeth out lol

Okay, so I don’t know if I can dare read any more of your rec’s above. I just finished How We End, and I’m totally wrecked. Shattered. (as opposed to shatner’ed). I literally just broke out ugly sobbing again from it while ago.
Well, I can see where your long-time urge to write a fic based on the song “Story of My Life” came from. It certainly fits THAT fic too, though obviously both fics are completely different. Except for how they end.

You can, I promise you. I don’t think they others end quite as emotionally but they are stellar, trust me, you won’t regret it. ❤

I can’t blame you for being nervous; I’ve never been fond of the dentist either. I always make sure that I pray before I go for things to go smoothly and for them to do their work well. I will certainly pray the same for you. After all, it is written, “Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything.” (Philippians 4:6)
If you don’t mind, I’d like to pass on some advice that always helped me. A very wise man, Pastor Keith Moore, once said that you have to watch what you’re thinking about. If it’s causing you stress and anxiety, then stop, you’re going the wrong way. You have to replace those thoughts with something else. Stop that negative chain of thinking by speaking positive words, words of faith. Then think about them coming true. Repeat the process every time something negative comes into your mind.
Negative thinking sure can be a hard habit to break but it sure is worth it. Remember, “do not be afraid, only believe” and if you “doubt not in your heart but believe that what you say will happen, it will be done for you.” (Mark 11:23)

I’m looking forward to checking these stories out, I’ve read Rhadamanthus too; that was a fun one. I’ve always like ones that bring the Prime and AOS characters together 😁 Another good one is Alien by falsepremise, first contacts are always fun, and as long as we’re discussing various stories… 🙂
