A few things to ramble about…
Back when Paramount offered for me to buy their special edition Star Trek Beyond in digital that came with extended content, I fell for the sales pitch. It also included a digital copy of 2009 and Into Darkness as well as cut scenes, etc. And the deal was that I got the movie before it was released to anyone else, so, naturally, I took this bait. It was through a service called Ultraviolet.
Fast forward to now. Ultraviolet is closing down. And my content? Well, Paramount has informed me I can’t access it through their site. I have to sign up for a whole other account somewhere else and link back to my movies that are on the closing site in order to retain them. Sigh.
Now I have Blu Ray copies of all three movies (in fact several copies of some because a certain M keeps buying them for me), but not all the extra stuff Paramount put in the digital copies. But you know what this all says to me? Streaming and digital sucks. Because you can still get screwed on your content. So when the next damn service goes out of business, there go my digital copies I bought from PARAMOUNT once again.
It took me a while to get my Flash done for this Friday but I finally finished it today and got it scheduled. Last week didn’t launch and I had to do it manually, so let’s cross our fingers it launches this time.
Because of that, I have no new chapters done. I’ll work on it.
M and I have Friday off and we are going in to Ventura for lunch with my mom and sister. Should be a nice day.
And speaking of, at the end of June is my sister’s 60th birthday and she has requested to go to Harrah’s Casino and Resort in San Diego for the occasion. We have agreed. She gets three free nights and so we are all rooming together to save money, obviously. If you say no, she cries, so naturally we said yes. Anyhow, I will be mostly out of commission June 30 until July 5th. We return the 3rd, but then M’s cousin does a thing at her place for Independence Day (their town even does their fireworks then), so we go to that, and then there is the 4th where we do a BBQ etc. So that week is pretty much shot. You have been warned, so mark your calendars!
I think Jamie’s birthday is the 1st so if she wants a fic, she better tell me well in advance and that goes for anyone else, again. Please do let me know. I don’t have a memory so you must help me.
Saturday of this weekend, M and I are going to this thing at one of the local farms called Tomatomania. I guess they are supposed to have every variety of tomato available for sale to plant for yourself. Since M is a gardener and I love tomatoes, it’s a social event for both of us. No making fun of us now. We know we are nerds.
If I am not as super friendly as usual (ha like I ever am) it is because I am quite overwhelm–er, fulfilled, right now. Please forgive me. It is not because you are not loved.
Anyway, I think I’ve rambled enough.

I know. I am livid about it. I bought it from Paramount and they don’t want to give me access, it’s all a third party. Like that worked out for them last time. I paid for this shit and ….grrr. Fuckers.

We were warned a year ago by that person I listen to that everybody else turns their nose up at, that anything streamed – we don’t own. We only pay to get access and they can pull it any time they wish and to always read the fine print – you know, those pages that NOBODY reads because we don’t have law degrees to understand. INCLUDING Kindle books. That those can disappear any time at the discretion of the real owner – who is NOT us. That we really should go ahead and buy hard copies if we want something that can’t be taken back. So – we’re warned. We just don’t know that we’re warned because they wrote it in Jupiterian language or something. Sucks seriously for all of us who thought we were doing something so cool and easier and smarter and more environmentally wise and sometimes even cheaper.
The joke is always on us.
And based on how many millions of people all over the world get their jollies scamming, stealing, blackmailing, threatening, extorting, etc., the other billions, it’s a wonder anything actually works.
I think everything internet and electronic, etc., is built on a house of cards.
But…no worries, huh?
As Forrest Gump said, sometimes there just aren’t enough rocks…..
Now – I cry all the heck time and you never agree to go to San Diego with me! I can’t even get you to go to Chris’s house and take pictures for us. And tell him how much we l o v e him.
Maybe when I finally reach 60…oh wait! (hands on hips, stomping my little last season Prada shoes at you, honey.) (that’s kind of a quote from Legally Blonde) (I could never afford Prada shoes even if I dug them out of a dumpster in Beverly Hills).
I’d love to go to Tomatomania – but I’d rather go to Hot Sauce and Chipsomania.
Actually, if I were marooned on a deserted island, I could survive happily on tomatoes and homemade ice cream.

Yes, the joke’s definitely on me in this case. Theoretically, I should be able to still watch them with whatever new service I am being forced into, but as I said, when that one, too, goes out of business, Paramount is basically saying ‘too bad for you’. You know the old adage, if it sounds too good to be true, it is.
I confess that Legally Blonde is another movie I have not seen, though, of course I have seen quite a few scenes from it. I am onboard for the Chipsomania!
No movie. Probably going for a walk and then I think the plan is to watch Peter Jackson’s King Kong, from um, like 2005. M wanted to watch all of them for God knows what reason. He’s making some chicken dish too.

Digital sounds like a bad idea, if it’s not downloaded to something you can access, when the streaming service goes down or goes out of service! Call me old-fashioned, but I like my physical copies of things… books, videos or music.
Tomatomania sounds like fun. Hoping my husband and I can go to a maple syrup farm and see the maple sugaring process this weekend and get some maple syrup. The Spring breaks are all over for my girls, so the house is back to empty. Last weekend we drove down to the Bronx and visited Edgar Allan Poe’s cottage. Very interesting tour and a dynamic tour guide. Poor Mr Poe led a tragic life. He brought his wife up to the then countryside of the Bronx to help cure her tuberculosis. Sadly, she succumbed to it after a short while there.
I see above that I was in comment jail last night? Did you bake me a cake with a saw in it? But seriously, how was I in comment jail? I’ve heard of Facebook jail… I have an acquaintance that’s in various Star Trek groups that has often been banned from posting in groups. Is it just WordPress being funky?
I see from your comments above, you have plans to write an angsty story. Bring it on, but let me prepare myself.

Yep, I had to release you from spam. No idea what is going on, but over the last couple of weeks each one of you have been in comment jail until I bailed you out. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason and WordPress is picking on every one of you.
In the latest saga, I was able to link my Paramount movies to Vudu, which is the latest service they are using, HOWEVER, the bonus content I purchased at the time does not seem to have come with them. I have emailed about it but have, of course, received radio silence so far.
You probably read part of it here on the blog as I had posted the first few paragraphs. I have since removed them because I remove the sneak peaks once I have decided to make them eventual full fledged fics. Anyway, hopefully some day soon.
But last night a new idea came to me, so…I am an idiot LOL 😀

Thanks for getting me out of spam jail. I’ve had technical issues lately. My phone keeps asking for my Apple ID, for no reason and I keep getting logged out of ao3, which is a problem since I can’t remember the password and have to look it up at home. That and I’ve had repeated calls from the British Virgin Islands and Belarus, which never happened to me before. Very annoying, especially since I work nights! Sigh! ❤
