Looks yummy! I’m at work now (it’s 2am here) eating Weight Watchers snacks and apples. Can I have some of your treats?
Love your fireplace! We haven’t used ours in years. Leaving the flue open afterwards makes the house cold. Idk. Maybe we’ll use it this year!?

Funny you should mention that. We had the fire and it was getting a little smokey in the house, but not super smokey, or so it didn’t seem. So we opened a sliding glass door to help with that. And then later I went upstairs and was like it’s kind of smokey up there. Still didn’t really think much. It had been about a year since we’d used it and before that a few years. Later, I saw that it was black with soot all over the white tile. M checks and yeah the flue was mostly closed. Now we can smell smoke everywhere in the house and we joke that he tried to kill us with carbon monoxide poisoning. Oiye!

And that right there is why I always just kept a screen in front of mine and never used it at my house. I’d probably kill myself.

Wow! It is scary! Glad you are all safe.
Things our ancestors knew how to do can be challenging for us modern humans. I’d starve if I had to grow and or kill and prepare all my food from the wild. I even have problems getting a match to stay lit long enough to light a candle! Lol!
