Ramblings of the Week, January 14, 2019

Oops! I meant to publish this Monday! HA. Oh well

Here we are at the beginning of another week. A full work week, though this coming weekend is a three day one for both of us. Teachers in LA start their strike, too. And it’s supposed to be rainy for the next several days.

I intend to get chapters up for The Experiment. I also intend to, cross your fingers, get the next chapter up for The Mysterious One. I need to get something written for Friday too.

I need to get moving more this year, so we went for a walk Sunday afternoon. It was all right. Because of the rain, that might be it for the week, we will see.

I am getting stuck seeing The Mule on Tuesday (Clint Eastwood). I have no desire whatsoever to see it, but M and his cousin want to see it so I agreed. I will advise how it was.

Okay, so I have officially posted my T’hy’la Bang story, Wonderful Life, on AO3. I think most of you have seen it, but if you haven’t, take a look. I am pretty proud of that story.

This week I hope to get more written on The Experiment in the hopes of concluding it in the not too distant future. I also need something for my Flash Friday. I wanted to have the next part for my guys from the Christmas Flash I wrote a couple of weeks ago but I am stalled on that and them, so I might have to just whip something up fast so I have a Flash for this Friday.

I should be seeing Aquaman tomorrow if all goes according to plan.

Otherwise, this is a full work week for the first time in a while so that is going to suck. We do get MLK off on the 21st but that’s two weeks away. Of course after that we have no holidays until Memorial Day. It is a long stretch. I’ll be dipping in to vacation days for sure.

This time last year I was looking forward to the cruise. I have no such plans this year as I need to pay off some stuff. We shall see.

We had some rainy weather over the weekend, but all the undecorating is officially done and life is, such as it is, back to normal. May you have your version of normalcy.

christmaspine

Hello my friends.

I am doing okay. Busy in life and busy at work. It’s a little stressful, not going to lie. Still have my cough too. It’s better but by no means gone.

This week I am going to attempt to see The Man Who Invented Christmas as I was forced to skip it last week due illness.

I’ve gotten a good jump on my Christmas shopping.

As I declared before my main focus is my two holiday stories. I hope to get further on my other Christmas story this week. Everything else is still on hold. It has to be as I am stressed as it is.

I’ve got parties and get-togethers coming up as well as an amusement park visit later this month and a special dinner. December isn’t terribly relaxing for me. Never has been.

Hope everyone has a good week and takes some time for themselves.

Ramblings of the Week, October 16th

I had a pretty quiet weekend, intentionally, I might add. I didn’t do much of anything. It was impossible to sleep in though because it was hot and windy and it wrecked havoc on my sinuses and asthma.

The only writing I did was to begin my Christmas Spirk story. As I explained I don’t want to get caught at the last minute with nothing to post.

I am not doing any of the “challenges” for the foreseeable future. No Old Married Spirk this year, No Big Bang (reverse or otherwise), and no K/S Advent (I never have done this, I just do my own thing for holiday themed stories). I don’t need any more pressure on myself than I’ve already given myself.

This  morning I completed October Romance which was a lot of fun to write.

It’s supposed to be hot here for about the next week and a half. Meh. I am ready for cooler weather but unfortunately it isn’t ready for me.

I haven’t really decided what else to work on writing wise this week. Up next should be Who’s the Daddy but to be perfectly honest I am not particularly enamored of that story and I just wish it was over. This is what happens when I write stories to make others happy instead of myself. I know many people love Spirk baby stories and I totally support people loving that but I am just not one of them. I’ll try to stick it out though and get it done completely eventually. I’d like to have it done and out of my hair before the end of the year.

I did make some progress on The Winter Story.  I am going to desperately love these two together, I think.

I am itching to get back to What Happened to Spock and my little Vulcan with Jim story. Isn’t that odd since I am not a fan of “family” stories. HA HA.

There are a few stories I’d like to say goodbye to before 2018, so we shall see how I do with those.

This weekend (and oh my yes, I am already thinking of the coming weekend), is another one where I intend to chill out and do pretty much nothing. As long as I can do that, I will, because once the real holiday season comes up I am going to be slammed with commitments and it will make me just a little bit crazy stressed. Another reason to get the Christmas story very much written. I intend it to be mostly fluffy though, so it should be fun.

I need to get back to all the angst stories too like Didn’t We Almost Have it All. I know certain friends are definitely looking for that.

Today I am leaving you with a Pintoish picture. Even though Quinto seems to be getting very very close to his BF indeed. Bleh, LOL

CIHarbor

Channel Islands Harbor above

This past weekend, on Sunday, we had a barbecue at the family’s house. Hard to believe August is about half over already. While I won’t be sorry to see the heat go (and yes it will still be hot here in September), I will miss the daylight as it begins to get darker earlier.

This coming weekend on the 19th, I am going to the Chowder Fest in Oxnard (Channel Islands) with friends. The cost is $25 an includes different chowders, wine and beer.

In case you missed it, this week I updated Broken, My Devotion, and Anything. I ended up posting Broken on AO3, but changed the name.

Anyway, be that as it may, my plans for the week are to get a new chapter of Didn’t We Almost Have it All and Where My Demons Hide up this week.  Possibly the conclusion of Broken, too, which is now called First Impressions. That’s it, though.

For anyone who has a tumblr, I now have one. I don’t do a huge amount with it because I am a bit lost, but it’s there. Ivan’s tumblr

Managed to get the next chapter of My Devotion up just this morning. I started it on Friday but couldn’t get it done before today. So that’s a good thing to begin the week with.

I plan to update and finish You Were Meant for Me by this coming weekend. Will Spock redeem himself? That remains to be seen.

On Friday will be the conclusion of last week’s flash fic where are One True Pair broke up.

Had a busy weekend of socializing. Went to a sort of party on Saturday but we were the only ones who showed up. We ended up drinking wine and eating pizza and spending way too much time there.

Yesterday was a family BBQ for Mother’s Day and though we sat outside, it was too cold to actually swim in the pool. Usually it’s warm on Mother’s Day but not this year. But apparently next weekend we hit back in the 90s.

I think I may be made to go to a retirement thing tonight for our mechanic who retired and sold the business. I don’t want to go, but I think the mister does and is pushing it.

This weekend coming up I have no social obligations so I meant to lay around all lazy like. I shall be a Carpathian Prince.

Ramblings of the Week, April 10

This weekend was a social horror for me.

I had to do a birthday party for a two year old on Saturday and we were there from 10 to 10 with lots of loud obnoxious people and by the time I was able to go home I was more than done.

Two good things, I helped her color Easter eggs and at one point she stuck her little hand in the green dye because she was tired of trying to pull up the little scoop the egg dye color comes with. Then her little grubby hand was green. Very cute.

The other was one of the guests was fostering kittens and they were tiny, one of them barely two weeks old, and she brought them because they have to be fed every few hours. And they were very cute. Here are two of them on her lap.

One little guy thought he was going to fall and my arm was the nearest thing to grab on to.

Please ignore the ridiculous whiteness of my skin. The mottling too. Please and thank you.

Yesterday was yet another social thing, this one for an adult, but at least it was in a beautiful location. Carpenteria.

I am socialized out. Woke up with a killer headache today as a matter of fact.

Next up on the updating is “What Happened to Spock?” Angst is coming.

Now I just need some serious coffee and alone time. Yes. Alone. Thank you.
