This was a prompt from J. Thank you!

“Paradise for three days, Bones. This is going to be so great,” Jim said to his best friend as they were preparing to go down for shore leave.

They were headed to the transporter room.

Bones looked behind him and spotted Spock walking several paces away from them.

“You know Spock broke up with Uhura.”

“Yep, he told me.”

“And?”

Jim laughed. “What?”

“Think you should invite him to join us?”

“Huh? What for?”

Bones sighed. “I don’t know. He’s by himself. Uhura’s partying with a new group of friends.”

“He doesn’t go on shore leave.”

“I think he’s going this time. He told me he has trunks.”

Jim frowned. “What?”

“Yeah. Swim trunks. And he was asking what we were doing.”

Jim stopped and leaned against the bulkhead. “Swell.”

“Jim.”

“Well, come on. I mean, I know we’re friends and all, but he’s going to crimp everything. I’m planning on getting laid.”

“You’re always planning on that.”

“I’ve already made an assignation with that Commodore from the Constellation. He’ll be there too.”

“What? That big beefy dude? Yule?”

“Yeah, that’s him. What can I say, Bones? I like the built, muscular ones. Why do you think I could never go for someone scrawny like you?” He pushed Bones.

“You wish you could have a chance with me.” Bones looked behind them. “Here he comes. Let’s ask him.”

Jim rolled his eyes. “Fine.” Jim smiled and turned to his first officer. “Spock, there you are. We’ve been waiting for you.”

“Waiting?”

“You’re coming down to shore leave with us and I won’t take no for an answer.”

Spock nodded. “Very well, Captain. I will go and get my belongings and will meet you down there.”

Jim patted his arm. “Meet us at the pool of the hotel we’re staying at, Mister Spock. I plan to be sitting under an umbrella sipping something tropical in no time.”

“I will be there.”

Jim watched Spock walk away toward the turbolift. He turned to Bones. “You owe me.”

“You like Spock.”

“Sure, I do. On the ship when he’s saying sciencey things to me.”

“That’s not a word.”

“Sure it is. I just said so.” Jim entered the transporter room. “But down on shore leave when I’m getting me some? Not so much. And he’s liable to sit there moping over his breakup when I’m trying to have some fun.”

“Wow, Jim, you’re in rare asshole form.”

“Well, come on, Bones. This is Spock. Well, whatever, the two of you aren’t going to keep me from having Yule. I’ve been planning this for a while.”

Sometime later, Jim was in his own swim trunks, sitting beside Bones under an umbrella by the hotel’s lagoon, sipping on a pineapple daquiri. He was attempting to contact Yule when Bones nudged him.

“Here’s Spock.”

“Mmm. Good.”

“Captain. Doctor.”

Jim finally looked up to see Spock standing next to their table. He blinked rapidly, lowered his sunglasses.

Spock was ripped. Muscular. Adonis.

And Jim was staring like a lovestruck fool.

“Captain?”

“Uh.”

“Jim? Something wrong?” Bones asked.

“Hiya, Spock.” Jim licked his lips. Rubbed the back of his neck. He suddenly felt like covering himself in the face of such magnificence. Without thinking it through, he lowered his gaze to the trunks Spock wore. He didn’t fail to notice Spock’s significant package. “Holy shit.”

“Captain?”

Jim’s gaze flew up quickly to Spock’s face. He slammed down his sunglasses over his eyes. But of course that wouldn’t hide the reddening of his skin that showed his absolute mortification.

“Want-want a drink?”

“A virgin margarita would be acceptable.”

Jim felt his own cock jump at the word virgin and he felt even more in some kind of surreal place.

“Fl-flavor?”

“Strawberry. I am going into the pool for a swim.”

Jim watched Spock’s tight round ass as he walked away from their table. He watched him get on the diving board and he watched him dive into the pool. He watched…

“Jim, your communicator is buzzing.”

Jim kept staring at Spock as he swam.

“It’s Yule.”

“Who?” Jim asked, absently.

“Sorry, he’s not interested,” he heard Bones say.

Jim took a sip of his daquiri, watched Spock.

“Should I go get him the margarita?”

“Yeah, sure.”

“Jim, what’s wrong with you?”

“Spock’s really really hot.”

Bones snorted. “I’ll never understand you as long as I live. I’ll be back with the drinks, Romeo. You want another daquiri?”

“Uh-huh.”

Bones left their table and Jim continued to watch Spock.

He was screwed. Seriously screwed.

He wanted Spock. And he wanted Spock, badly.

What the hell was he going to do about it?

Extra Flash Conclusion 07/07/2019

He entered his dark, empty quarters without any enthusiasm.

“Lights fifty percent.”

They came on instantly and even at fifty it seemed far too bright for his tired eyes.

“Dim lights to twenty-five percent.”

He stood in the middle of his quarters for a while, probably no more than minutes though, before finally deciding he could stand with a shower. His clothes were soiled with…with…

The door chimed and before he even thought about answering it, the door opened, and Spock stepped inside. He still wore his own soiled and messy uniform, and his eyes looked wider in his paler face than usual.

Jim stared at him, recognizing that his eyes were pooled with tears, but unable to do much about them.

“I promised his mother.”

“Captain?”

He blinked, dislodging a few tears with his lashes, feeling them wet his cheeks. “Ensign Styles. We…she was there, you know, when we picked him up when the Enterprise was ready to go out again. She told me to take care of him, make sure he returned safe.” Jim lowered his gaze to the floor. “I didn’t do that.”

“Jim.”

Spock was there in a second, less than, maybe, and he had his hands on Jim’s arms, on his forearms, holding him in place, but not tight, with complete and utter gentleness. He raised his gaze to Spock’s and what he saw there mirrored his own thoughts and feelings, somehow.

“Styles was not your fault and both he and his mother understood Starfleet service. There was nothing you could have done to save him from what occurred except perhaps leave him off the landing party and he desperately wanted to be on it.”

“I know, but I—”

Spock simply shook his head. His thumb came up to brush a tear off Jim’s cheek. “What did you dream of?”

“About us?”

“Yes.”

“It was stupid, really. And the only reason it really stands out was because it wasn’t a bad dream. A nightmare, you know? Which is what I have all the time. Not all the time, but—”

“Jim.” Spock shook him, but again, with extreme gentleness.

“It was you and me, just dancing, at a cotillion. Do you know what those are?”

Spock nodded.

“All dressed in old-fashioned clothes like you’d wear to one, I guess, and you were leading. I think I tried to, but you took over, whatever.” Jim smiled a little. “Then you moved us off the dance floor to the balcony outside and then we—”

“We?” Spock prompted.

Jim briefly closed his eyes, squeezing out a few more teardrops. He smiled again and opened his eyes. He put his hand up to Spock’s face. “We kissed. And kissed. It was…the best kisses of my life and it was all a damn dream, Spock. Then we started to remove our clothes, right there on the balcony, and then-then I woke up. And we went on the mission.”

“I see.”

Jim pushed away then, out of his hold, putting distance between them. “And now? I’m just dog-tired. Wiped out emotionally.” He shook his head, then frowned. “Was there something you wanted?”

Spock nodded. “Yes.”

“What?”

“You. To tell you that…I’m here for you. That I made a mistake walking away out in the corridor. But I won’t walk away like that. Not again.”

Jim swallowed and took a step closer. “I really need a hug.”

And he was even a little surprised when Spock stepped closer, wrapping an arm around his waist and pulling Jim against him. It was kind of too snug and even kind of awkward. But it was the best damn hug he had ever felt. He closed his eyes and leaned into Spock.

“Thanks.”

“You are welcome, Jim.”

Stuff to Come

Throw back to 2009 Star Trek as it’s been ten years

Hello friends

I am still working on flashes, including one for Memorial Day, which will be posted on that Monday. In addition I want to finish all of Junes.

Next up to update is The Swap, so as soon as I can get to it, I’ll give it a shot.

I have the first chapter of a new fiction that is, untitled, based on JJ’s idea. I don’t know when I will be posting it but…um…soon.

This weekend is, of course, Mother’s Day, here in the US. We are taking the 92 year old mother to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, a favorite place for all of us. Merry making will be had. That’s at 3:30 on Sunday.

That’s about it, though. Oh. Once The Swap is updated, the next one will be My Heart’s a Virgin.

Rambling for the first of March

A lovely artist has been doing some illustrations for some of my stories and her latest one is for Didn’t We Almost Have it All, please, go and check it out, Artwork.

Coming up this first week in March is another chapter of Maybe, Probably. Also the next chapters for When I Loved You, Didn’t We Almost Have It All, and The Experiment (as you know I am looking to wrap this one up soon). Also a new Flash. Don’t know what yet, but I am sure I will surprise both myself and you.

Today I had off for a bunch of errands I had to do and to cuddle with Luna, who has become so spoiled and needy, you wouldn’t believe it. I returned some shoes I had ordered online that didn’t work for me, went to the grocery store, another grocery store and the PetSmart for food for Luna. While I was there I went to the cat adoptions. They were behind glass but there were two teenager cats in there with an employee and when I peeked in at them their eyes got super big. HA HA. Poor kitties.

I have had too much coffee I think because I am jittery and emotional. It’s weird. I think I had something of a meltdown on social media. Oh well. I think it will be best for me to stay away a couple of days, for the most part. I did unfollow someone today on there because I couldn’t even remember why I was still following her in the first place, HA.

Supposed to rain all weekend. I am ready for SUNNY SPRING.

Kris’s birthday is this month so I need to write her a flash. Please note, I will take requests for Birthday Flashes but you MUST remind me well in advance when your birthday is. I should remember. I absolutely agree. But I don’t. So if you want something tell me ahead of time and what you’d like in it. For Kris, I know she likes hurt/comfort so that is what she will get.

About Me and Writing Going Forward

It’s me again.

At it again.

Yes, last night I thought of a new idea for an angsty Spirk story. I ran the idea by Kris, who was definitely on board with me writing it, but I can’t write it right now. I have too much going on that will prevent it, at least for a little while.

This will be totally off the timeline you see in the movies. It will be more similar to TOS but with the AOS cast, basically, and some elements of the AOS stuff. The entire prologue will take place before they are all on the Enterprise. I anticipate the prologue being kind of longish as I will have a lot to cover in it, but we will see when it sees the light of day.

The thing is we are coming up on the busiest time of year for me for personal time requests from family and friends. This is going to make my writing updates even more erratic.

For example, I have something personal I simply must attend to for September, which puts everything else on hold until it’s done. It’s just the way it has to be. I hope it won’t take me the rest of the month, but it might, consider I am doing the Queen Mary thing at the end of September as well.

Plus I also have the Professor Spock Halloween story to finish. I have started it and got a decent start, I think. It’s probably going to end up a one-shot rather than a multi-chapter fic, but we will see. There’s also the OMS challenge story (TOS) that I have to have ready in November. It won’t be a long story and I have started it at least but it takes a bit for me to find the TOS voice. And of course there is still my Christmas story! I have quite a bit done on that one and the boys are getting very close to a very nice Christmas indeed HA HA.

I’d also like to finish Anything in the not too distant future.

So you see there’s a lot I need to do before starting anything else plus all my regular updates. It felt good to finish What Happened to Spock, although now that it is finished, I can think of things I should have done, addressed, etc. Oh well.

But for now, I am working on me. My personal thing. Once I get through that, I can turn back to writing Spirk/Kock (ha ha).

For now I leave you with a picture

Just some Updates and Cat talk

The Hike is done. Yippie! Hope you like it.

Now I can turn to The Sight when I feel like it. Not sure when that will be as I’m doing some reading at present. But it will come in due time, no worries there.

Most of you know Crazy the cat. I got her, well, I don’t know five or six years ago now? Got her in January that year and she’d been born in November I think and Luna in October. Anyway…the point is, I’ve had her a while.

She’s got her issues. She has breathing problems and eats her own fur (she’s nicknamed Crazy for a reason). All these years we’d been feeding her mostly Fancy Feast wet food and broths. They get fed 3 times a day. They always have dry kibble. Anyhow, she always mostly licked the gravy off and left the rest.

One day recently, our friend mentioned that her elderly cat quite enjoyed the Sheba Perfect Portions Pate food. They come in twin packs. You break one open and feed the whole thing to the booger. Anyway, Luna hates pate food. So she gets Cuts, which they also make. Anyway so we tried the Perfect Portions Pate and now Crazy is crazy for them! HA HA. She gobbles them down each meal like we hadn’t ever fed her anything proper for 5 or 6 years. Animals!

Should be a nice weekend weather wise and birthday dinner wise. Quietish after the recent weekends of busy busy.

Ramblings, August 13, 2018

So first, my couch arrived and it was the wrong color. I ordered brown and it came as gray. By the time I realized it the box was open and we were putting it together. Than later I was looking at what I ordered and what I had and realized they sent me the wrong loveseat altogether.  I ordered the “Copenhagen” and they sent me the “Palisades”.

Here it is with throw pillow we got to match our rug. (you can see a tiny edge of the girls’ pink furry blanket LOL)Couch2

Anyway, it’s likely not our forever couch but it will do for now and it replaced the old broken one!

The Hollywood Bowl was a grand time. All the Star Wars nerds with their light sabers was pretty cute.

All I have to say about the Star Trek/Hemsworth/Pine thing is that I don’t think any of us would like to be told by our employers that they were cutting the pay we were promised. It’s Bullshit and Paramount needs to pay up or ruin everything. Fuckers.

In writing, I didn’t do much over the weekend but begin my Professor Spock sequel. Today, I finished Young and Beautiful. YAY. And that’s about where I am at this point.

Temps are back to the norm for August. About 88 or so today. Not bad but we are getting hit with a little more humidity than we are used to getting. I don’t know where you live but the kiddies go back to school this week. Back in my day (yes, yes, old person) we didn’t go back until the Tuesday after Labor Day. But I guess the kids here get more days off during the year to make up for it. Like I know they get three weeks at Christmas, which we did not. The stores were crowded with back to school shoppers this weekend. But now that that’s about over, I expect to see the Halloween stuff show up at any time. I already spotted a Halloween Spirit shop coming soon in one of the vacant buildings near us.

Rambling Update, July 18, 2018

So what am I working on at present?

Well, I started the next chapter of Nine Lives. I feel like I need to move forward with this story. It’s been fun to write but Spock has been a cat for a long time now and I feel like there needs to be payoff here soon. So that’s where my thoughts are going with that story.

Otherwise I am preparing to begin penning/typing the next chapter of My Devotion. The other day I was looking at my statistics and there are a crazy insane amount of subscribers to that story. I don’t know if all of those people are still reading it but it was great to see the interest there anyway.

Everyone has their favorites and everyone wants those updated faster and next, of course, and I totally get that, so I try to update as in order as I can but also with the idea of current popularity in mind, which is why you saw some frequent updates on Idiots in Love.

As I indicated prior, though, I am coming up on a very busy month for me, August (not to mention expensive), so I will do the best I can. I am going to Solvang, the Hollywood Bowl, and San Diego, one right after the other after the other.

This weekend, I believe anyway, that I have it free. Thankfully! Then beginning with the last weekend of July (mom’s 92 birthday), I go in to the busy period until the end of August.

So anyway, look for Nine Lives coming soon. And we will see after that.

End of the Weekish Ramblings

I can happily report that When I Fall in Love has been concluded. Yay!

Also today I reserved my first overnight in Morro Bay. Anyone who knows me, knows I can never wait long to get back to my favorite place. So, with that in mind I have booked Saturday, February 24th. As long as it doesn’t rain, the plan is on.

I think next up for me is to work on a second chapter for A Surprise.  Then I will move on to two more stories desperately in need of updating.

For now, tomorrow, look for a Pinto flash fic.

See ya around the block.
