In good news, my relatives did come over this past weekend and they managed to correct something that was a huge stressor in my life right now. Yay!
But as I stated above, I now am sick. Ah well. Such is life.
We’re making progress on unpacking our kitchen stuff that was in storage for 6 months. Yay!
Over the weekend I thought of yet another idea for a Spirk story. Haven’t even written one word on it but I will. It’s got another hint of a fairytale but that’s all I can say right now.
My kitchen is finished and I’ll post pictures shortly.
But now my washer doesn’t work and it’s such a fiasco to get a stacked washer fixed (stacked means the dryer sits on the washer in order to make it fit in a tiny spot) . Nobody wants to service or move them. So here’s hoping eventually it gets fixed. One guy ordered parts but we have to move it etc, as he won’t. One guy on his way to come out called and said, oh I won’t do those. But when you live in a condo you can’t get normal laundry stuff. It’s a nightmare, not going to lie.
I did have an idea for a flash for here so I hope to get it up sometime soon. I’m still playing catch up from my vacation and Memorial Day as well as my mental health is frankly suffering. It’s the pits, not going to lie.
I keep repeating…THIS TOO SHALL PASS
Below are some before and after pictures of the kitchen
Thanks for sticking with me while I dealt with the kitchen nightmare since November. Our stuff in storage is supposed to come to us tomorrow and we still want to replace the dining room light and get a new dining room set but we are on our way (stupid washing machine notwithstanding)
Our kitchen walls are up and painted! Attached are some pics. After some delays, including the original drywall guy getting let go, and us having to complain to our insurance carrier, we are finally making progress. We wanted white so there was a slight miscommunication problem but for now we are just to happy to have completed walls and we can paint ourselves at some point well into the future LOL. We pick our cabinets and flooring and a sink later today.
Thought you might enjoy seeing a few pics from the cruise
The cruise was a success and we had a great time. The one small bummer (that and the choppy seas due to the weather system hitting California) was that we received little half bottles of wine as part of our excursion in Mexico and as we were returning to the ship fellow passengers absconded with our wine. Yep. It sucked. I complained to Carnival but there wasn’t much they could or would do. They were little $5 bottles of wine they weren’t going to view CCTV footage or anything. Sigh. Oh well it was a small unpleasantness in the scheme of things.
We both earned free cruises during the cruise so you can bet we will be going again in the future.
Tomorrow they are going to start the drywall for our kitchen. It’s the 4th Month Anniversary from our leak being discovered. So up, you know, something is happening.
I’m still on cruise time/dreaming so haven’t gotten anything written yet but there’s tomorrow’s flash
And yes, where I live we are getting a LOT of rain right now. So far my city hasn’t been hit with too much disaster though one of our little mountains called Rocky Peak did have a mudslide. No cars or homes were damaged.
We’ve been getting hammered with a storm the last few days (Friday night was wicked) and this morning we woke to snow on the local hills. I attempted a picture from my sister’s backyard window where you can sorta see the snow on the top of the hills past the leafless winter trees.

Naturally after I told M’s sister who lives in North Dakota, she was suitably impressed. And sent THESE pictures from her house. Now, really, where would YOU rather live? LOL
