100 Words (this one continued from 01/26/18

When all Spock did was stare at him wordlessly over the chess board, Jim knew bitter disappointment and heartache. So, it was true. All his feelings only belonged to him. Spock didn’t feel that way about him. And really, Jim should have known. Spock had broken up with Uhura months ago, right after their return to Yorktown after Altamid. It had seemed they would reconcile, and then they hadn’t.

Jim had hoped. But when nothing came from Spock, he decided to make his declaration. And all Spock did was stare at him open-mouthed, like a fish.

“Forget it.”

Our stateroom. They gave us twin beds for some unknown reason. I think because we were the same sex.

Grand Turk IMG_3232

Our cruise ship next to another in Grand Turk. Ours is the bigger one!

We had pretty rough seas due to some bad storms in the Caribbean. The Captain decided to skip our first port Amber Cove because the waves would be 18 feet high. We ended up having an extra day at sea. It was fun though. An excursion on St Thomas that would have taken us to St John was also canceled due to the waves, so I still didn’t get to St John. Other than that we had a great time. I love both Puerto Rico and Grand Turk. This time we got to do a tour of Grand Turk, which really is a tiny place, and I really liked it. So beautiful and the natives have such an amazing attitude even after the hurricane. They do have an issue with stray starving dogs which made me very sad.

And now I am back and rather tired, but happy for the great time I had.

If the captain died, then Spock would be captain. He did not want to be captain.

No. That was wrong. Certainly who would be captain if-if…the captain died was not what he should be thinking about.

If Nyota had known what sprung to his mind, she would slap him, and he would deserve it.

If the captain died, then Spock would be…alone. Lost. Have wasted time not revealing to the captain just how much Spock—

But no. The captain would not die. There would be time.

“Spock?”

Spock stood up, barely able to breathe.

“He’ll be all right.”

K-S

His stomach was twisted in knots and the coffee he had been drinking burned in his stomach. All the plans he’d made, all his preparations, his rehearsals, all of it just flew out of his head as he looked at the Vulcan sitting across from him. A chess piece was clutched between two fingers as Spock prepared to make his next move. Jim stared at the pawn Spock placed on the board. It would now be his turn, but he had absolutely no clue what to do next as far as the game.

“Spock, I’m in love with you.”

St. John USVI

And yes, I am going to that place you see above, that is Trunk Bay, St. John US Virgin Islands

Okay I have pre-scheduled 100 words or less flashes for this Friday, the 26th, and next Friday, February 02.

I can hardly believe it is almost time for my cruise. We take the “flyaway” to the airport Friday night. I don’t know if other areas have this but it’s an airport bus service so that you don’t have to drive yourself all the way to LAX. Or beg someone else to do it for you. LAX is a major pain to drive to because it’s on one of the world’s busiest freeways. Anyway, it’s much easier to convince a friend or family member to take you to the Flyaway. Our flight leaves at 11:50 PM Friday night and we land at 7:30 AM or so in Orlando. At about 10 we take a shuttle we paid for through Carnival to the port where our ship leaves. We can get on about Noon and the ship departs at 4:00 PM Saturday afternoon.

I will be back somewhere around 8:30 to LAX on Saturday February 03. Then we collect our luggage and catch a Flyaway bus back where someone picks us up from there. Probably be in my house ready for bed by 11ish. I hope. LOL. Then I will have all day Sunday the 4th to recuperate and do laundry.

When I made the plans for this trip it seemed so far away so that it is actually here is pretty strange to me. There are nine of us going so it should be fun.

This week I’d like to finish Who’s the Daddy, get a new chapter done on Bitter Frost, and a new one on You’re in My Veins. I am pretty sure I can do it.

No movie this week. Last week we saw Jumanji. It was amusing. We’ve seen everything we were going to see I think anyway. I think in February we will see the Pacific Rim movie. And of course in March is Wrinkle in Time.

100 Words Fic Friday

This is all I can manage right now my friends. Enjoy!

The sun was at his back and he heard the sound of running water from…somewhere. His voice was still hoarse from yelling for the rest of the landing party—anyone—to hear him. There had been no answer and he could not shake the feeling that he was alone. They’d definitely been separated. But somehow it felt as though he was the only living thing around. He could only hope that meant they were somehow back on the ship and not…gone. And he could only hope that somehow, up on that ship, Spock would be looking for him.

Very briefly.

I have just over a week until I leave on my cruise and I don’t really intend to stick to any particular update schedule between now and then. Other than getting an update done to Turning Page, I will let whatever moves me to work its update magic for the next week.

There will be a 100 word fic Friday. We’ll see what I have for next Friday, if anything. Same goes for Friday, Feb 02. I will be on the ship eating, drinking and being merry, but I might, just might though, have something scheduled for that day. Remains to be seen.

This past week I saw Jumanji. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I think that’s it for movies until we are back from the cruise. Not even sure there’s anything in February I particularly want to see. I did finally catch on streaming, Rogue One, and Doctor Strange. I was pretty meh on Rogue One, but I did quite like Doctor Strange.

My friend’s birthday is Friday so we will be going out to dinner. She was supposed to go up to Paso Robles for the weekend but the freeway up there remains closed due to the mudslides and rather than going around like normal people she chose to cancel the whole thing. Anyway, her BF is taking her to a fancy place and invited us and is going to pay, so that’s our Friday evening.

Other than that, I think this weekend will be pretty chill though I may begin the packing process for the cruise. Not sure I will have a rambles up Monday or not. We shall see.

Long but worth it.

In writing, I updated last week, Anything, Where My Demons Hide, My Devotion, and began Bitter Frost.

This week you can expect another chapter of Bitter Frost, Didn’t We Have it All, and Turning Page.

He watched as the sandy-haired man glanced his way, his blue eyes widening just slightly. Perhaps in recognition. Perhaps that was more than he could hope for. After a moment the man’s gaze drifted away, back to the coffee cup in front of him.

He tamped down his disappointment. Somehow he should have realized that this would not be that easy.

He hovered in the doorway of the seedy café, wondering if he ought to enter. But he could not resist the pull of the man seated at the counter. He approached. Blue eyes flashed to him.

“Jim.”
