I am enjoying my break from flashes!

I am working on the next chapter for Welcome to the Enterprise but I don’t want to rush it or force it so I likely won’t have it up until the earlish part of next week. Then the only other WIP I need to update for January is You Say, which will come after WTE.
Update on Kitchen Situation: Got an estimate way way less than the first one (using very cheap material of course) and it is likely that is the one the insurance will approve and pay for, but the HOA insurance is coming to do their assessment today to see if there is anything they will pay for. So hopefully we will get to the point they actually START putting our kitchen in. It’s now more than 2 months. We are beyond tired of it, obviously.

The story will happen as it happens. But yay!
Also holy crap on the kitchen. I knew it was still pending but gah it makes me so grumpy on your behalf. Here’s hoping it finally gets resolved, goes smoothly and quickly!

Yeah the thing is they harassed us nearly daily to submit “living expenses” and after we uploaded some receipts they came back saying nope you didn’t spend enough, DENIED. I hate insurance companies LOL

I don’t even know what “you didn’t spend enough” means. WTH????
Glad the HOA is coming to do their thing. I didn’t even know that WAS a thing. But then, never lived anywhere with an HOA.
Glad there’s at least one restful-er part of January – no flashes.
I’ve been enjoying each update and look forward to those!
Soon the kitchen problem will be just a miserable memory. Can’t wait for them to do their jobs!!

basically our grocery and to go food that we’ve had to buy didn’t warrant them paying out on a claim for us. It had to go over a certain amount in the insurance companies head (they use any excuse to not to pay claims) and we didn’t meet that threshold, so no payment on having to eat out every day.
Yeah the HOA has to keep insurance for the structure but their deductible is $35,000 so I doubt they will pay much but we must check with them.

This is a test. Theoretically they let me (or I figured out how to) use my previous name now!

Oh. So I can’t imagine you paying more for eating out would cause them to pay you enough to even make it worthwhile – or break even.
I LOVE CA. And I wouldn’t live there for anything. Unless I were a multi-millionaire.

that’s the national insurance company policy, a big one by the way, has nothing to do with anything state specific

Basically tp clarify it better, they ask you to estimate how much your living expenses for each week is. Well M said I don’t know $45-$150 a week.
Well the receipts didn’t had up to more than $600 for the month according to them and with holidays you aren’t home every day etc so because the receipts came under $600 for the month of December thy said no. Now I’m sure we spend more than that but you are put on the spot to estimate oh well I mean we can buy paper plates and cups etc it’s just an example of how they cheat you even though you’ve paid into the policy for 20 years LOL

I’m glad your kitchen mess will soon be fixed, but brother what an ordeal!! Hoping it goes smoothly for you!
Can’t believe that they won’t pay your living expenses because it’s too low. That’s nuts! You should have eaten lobster and imported caviar with truffle pate for dinner each night… perhaps with a visiting chef to prepare it! Crazy!
I’m glad you’re getting a nice break.
I’ve reread most of your recommendations, yours and other authors Didn’t revisit the one where Jim has to change the past when Spock dies. I’m not sure that I can emotionally handle that right now. 🤷🏻♀️
BTW cute smiley face photo with this update. 🙂

Just read all the comments. Goodness. I’m sorry the insurance peeps said no to ya’lls grocery and to go food claim. That sucks. But fingers crossed your kitchen is back up and running soon!
