I starting to believe in curses… read on for more
First of all, for anyone wondering, nope, no kitchen. I don’t remember if I showed you one of the pictures of the place, but here it is for your viewing pleasure. The whole kitchen and dining room looks like this.
So,
We don’t know anything yet, alas.
- the light in my bedroom ceiling burned out. It’s a high ceiling so you have to have a huge ladder to replace it. We have
- The handle on one of the toilets broke off entirely. Yes, we replaced that too
- Last night we come home from doing laundry at sister’s place and we go to put on the heat as it was chilly. Cool air is blowing. Yes from my brand new as of July HVAC system. I called this morning. They are coming tomorrow afternoon to check it out. I am not amused. I am miserable the least give me some heat for goodness sake.
- One of the living room lights was burned out. Sigh. Replaced.
- After work I went to watch TV upstairs, TV would not come on. I checked all plugs, all seemed fine. Still wouldn’t come on. I was getting frustrated. So finally I decided to check the batteries on the Roku remote. Replaced him. TV came on.
Anyway, I am beginning to feel like I could be in the movie the Money Pit
This too will pass I suppose

Little things like batteries and lightbulbs. Those are nothing. Tiny things we deal with every day. EXCEPT…When a glass is totally full, a tiny drop runs it over. And that’s where you are. Your cup runneth over – the bad way. The only good part of renting an apartment is that THEY have to pay to fix things. When they get around to it…Still hoping your insurance takes care of everything. There’s NEVER an okay time for stuff to pile on, but most agree Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday seasons are the very worst. Especially trying to pick and buy presents you no longer can afford on top of repairs you already can’t afford. Is it just me, or do they seem to be taking their sweet time replacing the cabinets? Or is that just the holiday and workers being off?Every time I’ve come across extra money and been so happy that I could save it or use it somewhere important – we’re talking EVERY.SINGLE.TIME – it turned out something broke or went wrong and THAT’S where the extra had to go. I try to think of that as God taking care of me ahead of time. But in my self-thoughts, I was going to enjoy it, rather than it go for necessities.OH WELL. Life be like that.And THIS is your time for that ridiculous piling on. I guess all I can say is I’m so sorry. And I pray everything goes as best as possible under the circumstances. Quickly, efficiently, safely, beautifully. And inexpensively.(And go ahead and skip getting me that new car. I’ll miss it, but, maybe next year.)

I’ve heard anecdotal stories from others that said months

I expect a denial and an appeal etc
In the mean time I need a damn kitchen
and heat
And yeah the lights and the batteries and even the toilet handle, life’s small miseries, LOL
I wish I could get you that car 🙂

I’m so sorry that this all had to happen to you! Ughhh! No kitchen no heat and then all the little things that just add to the list of misfortunes! Hoping everything goes smoothly and swiftly!!
My phone updated yesterday and it is driving me bonkers. It seems like nearly every app is altered. even typing thi , it’s doing it in blocks
it initially said “type/to choose a block”… whatever that means!!
And every paragraph has a blue outline as I’m typing it! Idk!!

Yep – WP became crazy disgusting different overnight. I’m hoping it’s just a glitch that goes away. Because a lot of people are just gonna say, screw this! And stop commenting on people’s posts. This is ridiculous.

Yeah for the kitchen having it dealt with swiftly has left the building that’s for sure. Sigh. It’s an odd way to liv with no kitchen and dining room, but I guess we’ll have to deal. Thank you!

Yeah, you should see what WE see here now. We’re typing in a long, horizontal narrow tube that slightly widens as our letters are taller than the tube. Above us in a separate little window are actually B/I/strikethrough, etc. letters to decorate our typing instead of html tagging as before. It’s ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT. I’ll tag myself any day if they’ll put it back like it was. That’s our wordpress. ALWAYS changing to make our experience here less user friendly. I was thinking of 2 things. You know how if you want it to rain, you get your car washed! Works every time! (almost) Maybe if you put your christmas tree RIGHT IN THAT EMPTY SPACE where the cabinets SHOULD be. And decorate it so heavily it’d be a nightmare to move it. THAT might work.In the Bible, they spilled salt from the 4 corners of their property – and for best results, salt the entire perimeter. Maybe THAT might work.

Yeah sorry about that with WP. I think it’s time to retire this blog for good at the end of the year. It’s not supposed to be a pain in the ass. So yeah, likely retiring it

Not that I know of, unless I were to do it manually, and that ain’t happening.
Most flashes people liked well enough ended up on AO3 anyway

In that case, I’m gonna start saving them. Cause not all I loved went to AO3. And it’s not like I’m busy with anything else. If I don’t finish before you delete, at least I’ll have some of them!

The thing is I’m paying $60 a year for this site, and if no one is going to comment on flashes I write, there really is no point. I may as well write them elsewhere or not at all, so yeah

I totally understand. I know a LOT of people read here, but they don’t comment. And it takes a LOT of brainpower, time, and effort to write both here AND your WIP’s or stories on AO3. You’ve given us many gifts here over the years. But if you’re not receiving anything but stress from writing here, plus PAYING for the privilege of stressing multiple times a week, who could ever blame you?
