“I’m sorry you got sick because of me.”
Though Jim felt like crap, he didn’t really think it was fair to blame Spock. So, reluctantly, he sighed.
“It wasn’t from when you got sick, Spock.”
Spock looked at him doubtfully. “Are you certain?”
“That was more than a month ago. I’ve been fine since. I’ve just been doing too much. And I went out in the snow and it was wet and slushy and I didn’t change into dry clothes soon enough and my immunity was down.” He sighed and sneezed again into the tissue he clutched. He lay in bed all propped up with pillows and a big bowl of chicken noodle soup. “I didn’t finish chopping the wood.”
“I will do so. It will be done in no time.”
Jim appreciated that Spock didn’t mention that Spock could always get the wood chopping done much quicker than he could with his Vulcan strength and better vitality.
“I am sorry that you feel sick on your birthday,”
“Me too. I was looking forward to a big fat piece of cake. I can’t even taste it.” Or this soup, Jim thought, but he took a bit spponful anyway.
“We will celebrate when you feel better,” Spock promised. “I am going to go out and chop the wood and start a fire.”
“Sorry, Spock. I know you hate going outside when it’s cold.”
Spock’s lips curved. “I will survive.” He leaned over and pecked Jim’s forehead.
“Come back soon?” Jim knew he sounded pathetic. He didn’t care. He was whiny, damn it.
“Of course, Jim. I always come back soon.”
And Happy 92 birthday, TOS Captain Kirk. I just threw this together at the last minute so it’s not much! LOL

Aw man. Sick on his birthday?! Thatβs the worst. Thankfully he has his husband and bondmate to take care of him. Man, Spock is so cute here. I love OMS.

LOL It’s everything.
And anyway, Shat/Kirk couldn’t even enjoy it if it had 30,000 words. He’s too sick!
I love it! I thought we wouldn’t get anything today, so that makes it especially…uh, special!
Yeah, not many people get to have 92nds. Here’s a toast to Shat and Kirk.

He has a pretty large family so I hope they have fun – or did something over the weekend. He’s WAY busier with all his projects at 92 than I ever was all my life, I think. He never stops working!

I think he’s someone who just can’t sit still, ya know? I mean well into his 80s he was still riding horses

Yep – these guys.
My dad waterskiied at 80. But wow did he pay for it.
Always followed by a bad night’s sleep from arthritis. But he LOVED it and I’m so honored I got to be the one driving the boat pulling him for that last ski trip. It was the one activity he and I alone shared a love for in our family.

Happy 92nd Shat/Kirk! I love it when they take such loving care of one another. This is a lovely flash. Although it does suck to be sick on your birthday. Iβm sure that Spock more than make up for it.
