(I literally edited/re-edited/reformatted/added pics literally 700 times since I first finished it. 2 months is a long time to think/rethink about something and get inspired and creative!)
It’s your Christmas present! And if, as they say, ‘time is money’ – then Ivan, this is the most expensive gift you’re getting this Christmas, unless you’re getting a new car, house or world cruise. THAT is how many hours and hours and hours went into its final form. I mean, I JUST, after 2 months, divided it into chapters this week because I figure fewer people would want to read 1 chapter that long. (or at least that’s how IIII am).

(The vast majority of those hundreds was reformatting because of the pics – resizing, then you have to reformat the length of sentences and oh wait that makes this section too long and hang under the pic, so I have to go reword and reedit and cut. Pics really do (IMO) add a lot to the story. But the trouble they cause? Literally, over and over. And it’s ONLY because AO3 isn’t wysiwyg. What you see on the page before you post, is often NOTHING like what you see on the posted page – and it’s all just a guessing game, try this, try that, over and over to get it all to match. And then I looked at it on a more tablet-sized laptop – and it was ALL WRONG – hanging words all over the place. So THAT took hundreds of edits to make it look right, no matter the size of the screen. But even I know my limitations. I didn’t even TRY looking at it on a phone. I was afraid it’d be so wonky I’d cry and just delete ALL the pics and borders and all. So – those hundreds of changes were all I was willing to do. Nobody has ever read their own story as many times as I have over the course of those 2 months just because of AO3’s 20th century formatting, making all those changes. And yet, I still cry at certain parts of it! LOL)

I’m looking forward to reading it later this evening. I have an appointment coming up this afternoon and a shit ton of stuff to do around the house when I get back from the appointment.
