I’ve been slacking a bit on the holiday posts this year.
Life is overwhelming me a bit right now.
But I will be continuing ChessMaster and TooSexy soon as well as posting the second part of the 10-year breakup. Also Jim’s Christmas Wish will be finished by the end of the year.
If we are lucky I’ll get another holiday flash or two up before the end of the year too.
Unfortunately I was busy all this past weekend and didn’t get any writing done.
I still have that second Advent story to appear whenever the powers that be release it.
Next year…I need to conclude a few things and I’ll be doing a Spirky version of Ladyhawke.
Cool fact, today would have been my father’s 102 birthday!
This is Part One…. (warning for strong language)
Ten years earlier…
“Don’t walk away from me in the middle of this!” Jim shouted. He was furious. He couldn’t remember when he was this angry.
Spock took a step back and shook his head. “I require meditation.”
“Meditation? Are you fucking kidding me? Right now?”
His eyes were impossibly dark. “I require meditation at this exact moment so that I do not give into the desire to strangle you.”
Jim gasped. “Are we really fucking back to that? Just try it, mister, and I’ll have you court martialed before you can say Kobayashi Maru!”
Bones stepped in and put his hand on Jim’s arm. “Jim, take a deep breath. Calm down.”
Jim felt enraged. “I don’t want to fucking calm down, Bones. I’m done.”
“Jim—”
“Nope. Fuck you, Spock. You can go straight to hell.”
And with that he stormed off and away.
Ten years later…
“It was great having dinner with you, Captain. I mean admiral,” Sulu quickly corrected himself. He glanced at his husband and now young adult daughter, Demora. “We all enjoyed it.”
Jim smiled. “Jim will do. It was great for me too. I can’t believe you’re entering the Academy, Demora.”
She blushed a little. “Yes, sir. I hope to be a pilot like Dad.”
Jim winked. “You have lofty aspirations but I have no doubt you’ll succeed.”
They stepped outside of the restaurant and on to the San Francisco street. It was a little cool so Jim pulled his coat around him.
“You want us to give you a lift to your apartment?” Sulu asked.
“No, that’s all right. I don’t mind the walk and it’s not that far.”
Sulu hesitated but then nodded. “You ever hear from Spock, sir?”
“Spock? No. We don’t keep in touch.”
“I just thought…never mind. I guess he’s probably on New Vulcan.”
“Maybe so.”
Ben spoke up then. “If you aren’t doing anything for Christmas, Jim, we’d love to have you over to our place. I make a great turkey.”
Jim shook his head. “Actually, I’m meeting Bones in Aspen, Colorado. I leave in a couple of days.”
“Oh.” Sulu’s expression brightened. “That’s good. Give Leonard our best.”
“I will.”
He gave Demora a quick hug, and then her parents too. “Merry Christmas.”
Then despite their offer again of a ride, Jim continued on his way.
Tomorrow starts the K/S Advent Calendar on AO3. I have two entries but have no clue when either will appear. As soon as I know, I will post on here.
Though times can be hard, there’s always something to feel gratitude for.
So to my American friends, I wish you a peaceful Thanksgiving
I’ve finished my two Advent Calendar entries for the KS Advent Calendar on AO3. I ended up only having time to do two of them as time got away from me. They were due on the 20th and I got them done, so go me!
I should be continuing Chess Master and Too Sexy soon. I also have to get my act together on the Christmas fic. I was gone for the weekend so that slowed me down too.
I’ve got this coming week off from work but I also have to get stuff done for Thanksgiving. After that it will be time to decorate for Christmas!
Don’t know what Christmas flashes will look like on here but I am sure I will have some done. Thanks for your patience and faith in my abilities!
Hope it is a better November than it was for me last year. But with the election…well (that is all I intend to say here about that.)
This afternoon I have Jury Duty.
My kitty is recovering from surgery she had on Wednesday. She had 4 teeth pulled. Come to find out she has only 17 out of 30 teeth because 9 just fell out at some point. Oiye. She also had a lipoma on her head and that was removed and they put staples on her poor wee head. She has to wear a cone of shame. None of us are happy.
I’ll continue with the Spirk from the chess club this month. Who knows I may feature them part of the time in December.
Still writing my advent calendar stories but have made no progress.
And that’s it for now.
In a few short weeks, my WordPress subscription will come due for about $70. I need to decide if I’m renewing or shutting this down, finally.
This would mean no Christmas flashes up here this year if I canceled, but there would still be Christmas/Holiday stories on AO3.

This is one of those informational posts. So I’ve turned off comments so you don’t feel like you gotta comment.
I’m behind on the chess guys because I have decided I really need to move forward with the advent stories or I won’t move forward if you know what I mean. They aren’t due until sometime in November but I am a procrastinator of the highest order and with possibly 4 of them to write, well, I can’t afford to wait and be my usual unproductive self.
I did write a special flash for Halloween that is already scheduled to go on that day so go me! Otherwise the updates here and on A03 might be a bit sketchy. We’ll see. Like I said I have sort of made claim to 4 stories for the advent posts and I’d like to make a real effort to get them done.
In other news, if you live anywhere near where the hurricanes have been hitting, you have my tremendous sympathy and big hugs. And yet another one is heading Florida’s way. It’s horrible and I am sad for all of you going through it.
