Still Struggling With Content Here

Yep, I’m still mostly absent here.

Earlier this week I considered deleting my AO3 account entirely. I talked myself down.

There are still some issues I am dealing with in my private life and I’ve learned that they way things “used to be done” just isn’t reality anymore. I’m hoping for some help this weekend from some relatives that said they would come help and so, well, I hope to have something positive to say next week about my situation. I don’t mean to be mysterious but I just don’t want to fully go into it right now. I will say I had a health scare on Tuesday that very nearly sent me to the hospital.

In other news, I’ve got loads of things coming up. We’re going to Temecula in a couple of weeks for an overnight to see Johnny Mathis. He’s 88. Not sure how great he can sing these days but we got free tickets and obviously this will be the last opportunity.

At the end of the month, the last weekend, I am off to my happy place, Morro Bay. I greatly look forward to that.

Before you know it, July will be here and I am going to try to get some Christmas in July offerings up here. Cross your fingers I can make it happen. I might use the idea I had for a flash and make it Christmas in July. I think I can.

So much going on this summer I can barely wrap my head around it. More trips, M’s sister coming for an August visit. Just lots and lots. I’ll try to keep my head on straight, LOL.

I’ve Been Fairly Incommunicado

I know. It’s been a rough 6 plus months.

My kitchen is finished and I’ll post pictures shortly.

But now my washer doesn’t work and it’s such a fiasco to get a stacked washer fixed (stacked means the dryer sits on the washer in order to make it fit in a tiny spot) . Nobody wants to service or move them. So here’s hoping eventually it gets fixed. One guy ordered parts but we have to move it etc, as he won’t. One guy on his way to come out called and said, oh I won’t do those. But when you live in a condo you can’t get normal laundry stuff. It’s a nightmare, not going to lie.

I did have an idea for a flash for here so I hope to get it up sometime soon. I’m still playing catch up from my vacation and Memorial Day as well as my mental health is frankly suffering. It’s the pits, not going to lie.

I keep repeating…THIS TOO SHALL PASS

Below are some before and after pictures of the kitchen

Thanks for sticking with me while I dealt with the kitchen nightmare since November. Our stuff in storage is supposed to come to us tomorrow and we still want to replace the dining room light and get a new dining room set but we are on our way (stupid washing machine notwithstanding)

Oh and the white floor gets dirty very easily LOL

I’m Back

But playing massive catch up in all aspects of life…

So here are pictures of our view from our hotel room in Hawaii, one towards the ocean and the other towards the city! Beautiful

Blog Vacation

As you may remember my Hawaii trip is coming up. I leave for a week on Saturday.

I don’t plan on posting anything here this week and obviously when I am gone and the rest of May.

When I do come back I will need to make a decision about this blog’s future. I have a little blog fatigue to be honest. Constantly trying to come up with something to post here is wearing me down.

If I close things down here for good I will likely move to posting things like Christmas in July and other blog themes to AO3 but I’m not yet ready to make that decision, so for now I am taking a blog vacation and hope in June (when is when I think I will get back to posting here possibly, I will have made a decision).

My kitchen is closer though not done still and when I do have those pictures ready, I will post them. I have walls, floor, cabinets and counters, but no appliances in place or hardware on the cabinets, so several things still need to happen but we are a lot closer.

Here’s the next part

“Hey,” Jim called after the Vulcan boy who was now running away from him at a rapid pace. “Are you following me?”

“Jim, you can’t just run after children and scream at them,” Bones told them as they walked along the quad area at the Academy.

Jim ran his hand through his hair in frustration. “I know but…you saw him, right?”

“I saw a Vulcan kid, yeah. I don’t know for sure he’s following you specifically. He seems young though. Wonder why he has no supervision.”

Jim snorted. “They probably don’t think they need it. All that independence stuff.”

Bones smirked. “Well, you’d know I guess. With all your experience with Vulcans and all.”

“One Vulcan and it was a disaster. Or I guess it was.”

Bones waved his hand over the automatic door that led into their dorm room and it opened.

“Did you ever think to actually confront Spock to find out what you did wrong?”

“What makes you think it was something I did?”

“Because I know you. Anyway, try a little communication. He may tell you the old, ‘it’s not you it’s me thing’ and then you’ll know for sure it is you.” Bones chuckled. “But it might give you closure if you ask.”

“Who said I need closure?”

Bones sighed. “Whatever, kid. You’re seeing Vulcan spooks wherever you go, but if you think you’re okay who am I to tell you different?” Jim scowled and went into his dorm.

Continuing

The thing was, from the first moment he’d spied Spock across the campus of Starfleet Academy, Jim wanted him. He’d done all he could to pursue the Vulcan, probably making an idiot of himself at least a dozen times.

Bones had assured him that he had.

But in the end it paid off and he had two dates with Spock. One was just for dinner and a movie. They’d had a great time. Or Jim thought so. Spock had agreed to see him again.

The second time, they’d had sex in Jim’s dorm. Luckly Bones was out. It had been great. Amazing. Jim was sure it was the start of something more serious. He wanted it to be.

After they were finished, Spock had hastily dressed, told Jim he really needed to go, something about someone waiting for him, he didn’t really know who or even exactly what Spock had said. But he scrambled out of Jim’s dorm like his ass was on fire, muttering that he’d contact Jim.

He hadn’t.

When Jim messaged him, he’d received no response.

Jim spotted him across the campus and knew Spock had seen him on approach. Spock had turned and gone in the other direction. It had seemed deliberate.

He told Bones all about it and Bones agreed. Spock wanted nothing more to do with Jim.

Jim had been sad and disappointed but he wasn’t about to wallow in self-pity. Spock wanted nothing more to do with him, so be it.

He’d been ghosted. Probably fair. He’d likely ghosted others.

But he simply had no idea why a Vulcan child would stare at him and even seem to be following him. Likely that was his imagination.

Right?

Kitchen Update

While I don’t yet have any polished pictures showing the transformation, I do want to give a brief update on my kitchen restoration should anyone out there be interested anymore.

This week we finally got a tile floor in the kitchen and dining room. It looks gorgeous so far. There’s one part tomorrow that will still need to be grouted (and a baseboard added eventually in the dining room). But so far it’s even better than I imagined it would look when I saw the tile.

Allegedly cabinets go in starting Monday. Keep your fingers crossed!

Another installment!

“That Vulcan kid is staring at me again.”

Bones frowned as he stabbed at his PADD like he wanted to kill it. “What Vulcan kid?”

“Well. How should I know? I told you about it.”

Bones eyed him. “You did? What? You have another Vulcan stalker?”

“Spock wasn’t stalker,” Jim protested. “Far from it.” Jim felt his face heat.

“Yeah, yeah. He ghosted you after you slept together.”

“Be quiet. It wasn’t like that.”

Bones snorted. “It was exactly like that. Who’s this kid?”

“How should I know? He seems familiar but I don’t know him. It’s not like I know a bunch of Vulcans. Only the one.”

“Who ran like hell as soon as he was done with you,” Bones said, undiplomatically. “Eh. I’d ignore the kid. Probably just nosey, like most children. He’ll get bored eventually and start staring at someone else.”

Jim sighed. ”Yeah you’re probably right. And now I really need to get to class. See you later, Bones.”

“Mm hmm.” Bones was already back to trying to kill his PADD.

New continuing story, updated at my whim

“What about that one, Father?”

Spock looked up from his study of their lunch bill when his son, Sanok, spoke.

Fortunately, Sanok wasn’t pointing at anyone inappropriately, but because he was not, he was not sure who or what his son was pointing at.

They were seated in the outdoor patio area of a café not far from Starfleet Academy where Spock taught after graduating with top honors. He was waiting for a ship assignment eventually, but for the moment he was satisfied with teaching as it allowed him time to spend with his son.

Sanok would not be allowed on the starship and would then be transferred to the care of Spock’s parents until his assignment had been concluded. Sanok’s mother had died in a lab explosion when the boy was only two. He was now six.

“That one?”

“At five o’clock on the right.”

Spock looked and nearly groaned out loud in a very unVulcan like way.

“Not this again.”

“You have expressed that your preference in a future mate should be male. Given that Grandfather chose a Human mate in Grandmother, it stands to reason that you may also have this peculiarity. It might explain the failure of your marriage to my late mother.”

Spock couldn’t exactly deny that the Human male Sanok had pointed out was indeed an extremely attractive man. One Spock was familiar with.

He could not tell Sanok how or why.

“He appears to be a cadet based on his uniform, so you would have a career interest in common.”

Since Sanok wouldn’t be able to be with Spock, he had decided it was his job to find his father a mate and companion.

“Yes, I know him.”

“You do?” Sanok asked, his tone becoming eager. “Then it will be unnecessary to arrange an accidental first meeting.”

“Completely unnecessary,” Spock agreed. “Now we should be on our way.”

“What is his name?” Sanok asked as he dutifully rose from his seat at the table.

“James Kirk.”
