Well the Vet and us hoped Luna had treatable hyperthyroidism but it was not to be. It is likely she has blood cancer. She’s in her 14th year and we don’t think she should be put through a lot of treatments she won’t understand and will separate her from us. Right now we are keeping her comfortable and she still wants to be with us and purrs. She is not in any acute distress and until the time that changes, if it does, we will keep her here with us until the time she passes. It’s the worse news, obviously. But we’ve had her since she was about 3 months old and it’s very tough but we love her and want her with us for what she has left. I think she wants that too. If her condition worsens we will make an even more difficult decision.

Oh Luna!
She’s such a sweet girl. I hope you get plenty of more with her ❤
Big hugs! Losing a furbaby is always hard. You wish they could live as long as we do.

She’s so stinkin cute.
But yeah. Saddest part about owning a pet. You’ll give her peace when the time comes and until then you’ll continue giving her the best life. She is a very loved kitty.
Big hugs.

Sorry to hear about your beloved kitty. My oldest, Jake, is 19-1/2 years old and has been losing weight for the last couple of years and declining a lot in the last 6-9 months. So, I know it is only a matter of time. So far, he is still interested in eating, although not enough to really sustain him. It is so hard to say good-bye to them.

That’s where we are with Lu, she shows interest in eating but doesn’t eat much
Awe, I love that your Jake is that old. My last cat before Luna and Cray, who passed at 6, lived to 18, it just wasn’t long enough still

You are making the right decision. I’ve had 2 cats who have developed CA. I decided I just could not subject them to painful, uncomfortable, and scary treatment. We opted for keeping them as comfortable and loved for as long as possible. However, there will come a day when they let you know that it’s time to go. Until that time, surround them with love.❤️🐾

Luna looks like such a sweetie. I’m so sorry to hear that. She’s not doing well. Just know that she has with any kitty would want, a loving home. Cherish the moments with her and just love her. When it’s time, she will let you know.
I’m not a cat parent. (I’m allergic!). However, I am a cat grandparent. My daughter in Brooklyn has a kitty and I see the love they have for one another. Truly beautiful to see the love a sweet cat can show to the object of their affection.
❤️❤️❤️PS ignore typos. I’m afraid to correct them in case all my words disappear at once.
