At least I didn’t say “bare”. You can all keep your clothes on!
Anyway, things are crazy and frazzled with me so I’ll do the best I can with writing in the coming weeks.
I don’t really know if I have talked about our ancient HVAC system for our townhome but we think it’s fairly close to original in 1986 and they don’t even make that kind anymore. A part of it is on the roof and to remove it you need a crane.
Anyway, we have to replace the whole darn thing because the heat doesn’t work at all and the air barely works. We have been putting it off and now just figured we need to do it. We’re too old to not be comfortable
Anyway we finally got the guys out and it’s going to cost $13,000. Yes, ugh. I have to finance it of course. AND because the previous owners did something shady were the other part that’s in the house is, a bunch of ceiling, drywall stuff has to come out and that has to be all repaired after it’s done and then later once it IS done, inspectors have to come out to make sure it’s done right and blah fricking blah.
It’s got my brain rattily right now I am not going to lie.
Anyway hopefully we’ll have the bulk of the project done in time for the start of July. Crossing my fingers.
But there you have the unfortunate happenings.

When it rains it pours! Sending hugs to you and M! ❤️❤️😘
Been there, unfortunately done that. We put central air in when my twins were babies, cost us a veritable fortune, comparable to your price, but in the end, it was definitely worth it! t Then a couple of years later, our septic system failed, and we had to put in a septic system that purifies the water. So called drinkable when it comes out of the field. Not attempting to sip that! Of course, Of course, that was another huge chunk of change. Especially hard to “swallow” when all the other roads around us have town sewer. But we do not because our road was newer than all the other roads and wasn’t on the original sewer bond. 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Don’t worry about writing. Just take care of you and write when you feel the desire to do so.
❤️💚😘🖖

Ugh yes fixing things in the home is such a pain in the ass. And even people who have brand new homes somehow get screwed on something lol
Yeah I would not be drinking ANYTHING out of the septic tank thank you very much
I appreciate it. I’ll definitely be less rattled and frazzled (frattled) well all of this is finished!

Uuuugh. So annoying. But you’ll be happier when it’s all done. Here’s hoping it’s smooth sailing at least and when all is said and done it’s golden good for many years to come!

Yep we get screwed because of what some idiot did to the place more than 20 years ago. Nice! Sigh
I loved hearing that my ceiling has to come down. Good news all around NOT lol

good grief that’s like buying a used car! (well it used to be – I don’t think you can even buy a bicycle for $13,000 in CA now! LOL)
I’m sorry – but I’m so glad you’re getting it done. And hey, the more comfortable you are – the more you’re inspired to write. (I’m thinking anyway! lol) We all could use a little Christmas in July right now!
And don’t pay attention to the freaks in the media. We’re NOT running out of electricity in Texas, it’s NOT a special heat wave – it’s SUMMER, just like all summers. Last year it was this hot by the 2nd week of May, so this year is MILD by comparison, no matter how they flail and drama queen about it. I don’t even have my AC on – just fans and I’m comfortable! And it breaks tomorrow anyway (which scares me for storms, but hey that’s me. There was a tornado a mile from me last week. But looking at the video it was nothing but an overgrown dust devil on steroids. They stood there and videoed it forming. It did form over my power lines and immediately knocked out my power for almost 2 hours, but it wasn’t any big deal.) Anyway, I’ll take this over -9 degrees ANY DAY!!!

Oh yeah they do the same thing to us so I get ya. We’ve been mild so far but they are all screaming that the exessive heat is coming. Newslfash! It’s excessively hot from July-September! Not that new!
Yeah it’s an expense I am going to have to live with because I need AC and heat. This past winter was COLD for us and I sat huddled with a damn space heater and still froze my ass off. We were determined not to let that happen again.
Gotta continue to work for another 50 years (that includes the time my ghost is also working) but I will be comfortable!
Hopefully without a big hole in my darn ceiling LOL

Big hugs and hopefully all will be fixed up and not cause you any problems ever again 😀
I had to get mom’s whole HVAC unit replaced last month. It was only a few years old when she moved into the house in ’18. But it went out of warranty and started acting up. Compressor was dead and there was a leak in the attic part of the unit. First company I had out wanted 5k for the compressor fix/leak fix then tried to get me to sign off on a 13k new unit instead. I’m like, the house is tiny, why that much? I had a second company come out for a new unit quote. 7k for the good unit, 8k for better, and 12k for best unit and they even offered to bring free window units to tide us (Pepper) over until we decided on what we wanted to do. Mom couldn’t get financing so I had to dip into savings between the two of us and we got the new 7k unit.

Oh and I think ours was original from 1986 so we got more than we probably should have out of it. That was probably before you were born LOL

Sounds like time to hit the casinos to make some money 😉
I’m in the process of trying to buy a house but interest rates over here are climbing so fast it’s added over a thousand pounds to the monthly amount I would pay just since January. So very quickly being priced out. Bloody London
Houses – they’ll get you if you own, screw you as you try to buy

Oiye! Sounds like California. When we bought our townhouse in 2006 we were able to do it with only 5% down now you have to have at least 20% down or they won’t even talk to you. And rentals are as bad as trying to buy. The neighbor next to my sister just sold their house for $725,000! It’s a nice house but worth that? Not even close. It’s insane. You have my sympathy Elouesa. The dream of owning a home is out of almost everyone’s grasp these days unless you got in there before
