Before anyone asks (not that they would), yes, I deleted my Tumblr account today.
Let’s just say I am not in any sort of head space to deal with AOS bashing and leave it at that.
It’s too bad because I enjoyed many experiences on there but there were a lot of things I absolutely did NOT enjoy and that was Numero Uno.

That is why I don’t follow any tos blog on there. They have this “tos is superior and aos is trash” attitude. Why can’t they let people enjoy what they like?

Yes they do and this is not the first time I have experienced this and I just have zero tolerance for it right now. It’s BULLSHIT. No wonder the Trek fandom is dying.

It is kinda sad to see Trek not as popular as other franchises, even though it’s still a pop culture icon. Those who are supposed to support it choose to bash it instead lol. Can’t they see that AOS actually helped making Trek more popular to other parts of the world?

Also for the records this was on a not exclusive TOS blog, they post both and were reblogging something that offended me and I almost replied but decided I just need to take myself out of the equation and stop letting them piss me off. It was not worth the great pictures I sometimes get, honestly

If you don’t mind, may I ask what is it that they reblogged? I tend to stay away from those blogs after so many bad experiences so I don’t really keep up with the drama lol
If it helps, I think you did the right thing. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable. They’re not worth your time nor attention

nope they can’t see it. and many of them bash AOS Kirk for the same way TOS Kirk behaved and they are blind to it. And I am personally tired of it. So it’s my problem not theirs and out I went

Basically it was a pro and cons type thing as to reasons to watch and not watch every Star Trek movie. When they got to the new movies they had to bash Kirk until the third one when they said something about Kirk finally being okay. Since I liked him in the first two movies they can all bite me lol. I actually disagreed with 90% of it really but that one just fucking did me in. I also laothe the “NeuTrek” designation as well. I have always hate that “Neu” thing tacked onto something, that’s a pet peeve. Anyway I almost typed opinions are like assholes, everyone has them and everyone thinks everyone else’s stinks. But I let it go instead. Literally. It’s gone lol

I actually think him being petulant and hot-headed in the first 2 movies is kinda cute. You know, give Spock a reason to punish him in their quarters later 😂

I feel free so it’s all good. Life’s too short to live with aggravation. I found myself blocking more and more stuff on there to avoid that aggravation but now I will just peek through other people’s tumblrs and not deal with my own. I’m too high-strung.

I’m sorry to see you go but totally understand. I don’t follow many Star Trek blogs on tumblr. Mostly follow blogs that post bits of all the fandoms I like.
Fanfic writing is as far into the fandom life I go. I’ve seen friends in other fandoms like Supernatural and Sherlock get into some wars about stuff. One friend was cyberbullied so bad in the sherlock fandom.

I think I’m really lucky in that I follow people that generally have my own views and I don’t look too hard elsewhere. That may be the key.

I’ve definitely learned my lesson that if I ever do go back I’ll need to be less sensitive and until i can learn to be that way, I’m not going back. But yes, you are indeed fortunate in that and I peek through your tumblr to get my fix 🙂

Sorry to hear that! I am also sorry that has been your experience. I only go on Tumblr now and then. I enjoy seeing the great photos and often amusing insights. But something about its presentation format puts me off. I just went on Tumblr the other day and saw somethings you had reblogged. Sorry indeed that I won’t see your name pop up when next I venture there!

Sorry to see to gone from Tumblr. Your posts made me day at times. I have been out of the loop swamped with family and just found out.
I understand your frustrations on the AOS bashing. They don’t get it that Pine’s character is not the same as TOS. Judging AOS Kirk by the standards set by TOS Kirk is pointless because it’s a different reality, different timeline. I hear the same thing (AOS bashing of Jim) on some podcasts. They treat Jim like he was a teenager in the first two movies then act like he grew a pair by the third movie in ST:Beyond.
I guess I’ll step off the soapbox for now. Keep the faith as eveningstar stated.

I love TOS Kirk but he is not perfect, far from it. And they all forget that. And I will leave it at that.
