Before anyone asks, this is the only part of this and there is no continuation. Love and Kisses, LOL

The door to Spock’s apartment was opened by Nyota Uhura and Leonard wasn’t thrilled to see her, honestly. But he was here for a reason, so it was the way it was.
“Oh.” Uhura made a bit of a face but then composed herself. “Hello.”
“Listen, I have a message for Spock.”
She shook her head. “Spock doesn’t want to hear from Kirk right now.”
His jaw tightened. “If he doesn’t want to come to the door that’s fine with me. I don’t actually want to see him myself. But can you give him the message?”
She folded her arms in front of her chest. “Fine. What is it?”
Leonard sagged, losing his defiance and anger in seconds.
“Jim was attached last night and beaten pretty badly. He’s-he’s in the hospital.”
Her eyes widened. “Oh no. Oh, Leonard, I’m sorry. Is he-is he going to be okay?”
“I don’t know. He’s not doing well. His injuries are extensive and he’s in a coma. I just thought…Spock might want to know.”
“I’ll-I’ll tell him at once.”
He nodded. “I’m going there now. Goodbye.”

Jim woke feeling as though he was dying. He felt like he’d been runover or maybe stepped on by a giant.
He turned his head and spotted a Vulcan in a chair.
“You are awake.’ Spock rose and came to his bedside.
Jim closed his eyes. “Why are you here?”
“You…you were injured and I…would you like me to leave?”
He opened his eyes and stared at Spock.
“No. Stay.”
****
The next time he woke he felt marginally better though he could not remember losing consciousness again. After a few moments of regaining full consciousness, he realized Spock was still there in the chair beside his bed.
“Hey. You’re still here.”
Spock once more stood and moved to his bed. “Yes.”
“How long was I out?”
“You were in a coma for four days after the initial assault. You have been out again for about four hours since your waking. The medical staff have been here several times and will have been alerted to your waking. I expect their presence any moment.”
“I see. Okay.”
“How do you feel?”
“Really bad. What happened?”
“You almost died. The assailants have been apprehended and are facing charges of attempted murder.” Spock paused. “Do you recall the circumstances of your attack?”
“No. I…no.” He shook his head and then regretted it. “I can’t remember any of it.”
“Not unusual for the kind of injuries you had,” Bones spoke from the doorway and came fully into the room. He glanced at Spock. “You can step out of the room now.”
Spock seemed fairly reluctant but after a stern look from Bones, he acquiesced and left Jim alone with Bones.
“How did Spock end up being here?”
“I went and told him about what happened.” Bones frowned. “I’m sorry if I overstepped, but I know despite whatever happened between you two that he still really matters to you and I think he feels the same about you. I can send him away if you want.”
“No. What…what’s the diagnosis?”
“You almost lost your spleen but that’s stable now. You had a broken jaw and arm and a fractured ankle. We fixed all those. You’ll probably have some residual soreness, especially in your jaw. We fixed your cuts and scrapes but can’t do anything about the contusions.”
“Wow. Whoever they were they really wanted me dead.”
“Yeah. Too close. Do you want to go back to sleep or do you want to sit up for a while? I can offer you iced water and chicken broth to start off.”
“Sit up,” Jim said. He was drained, tired and depressed honestly, but he was also hungry.
Bones pressed the mechanism on the bed until Jim sat upright and then he poured him a glass of cold water. “I’ll go and get that broth. Want me to let Spock back in?”
Part of Jim wondered if Spock would have used it as an excuse to leave the hospital and he dreaded the disappointment he would feel if that was the case.
“Yeah.”
When Spock didn’t come back into the room right away Jim decided Spock must have really left. Bones would return with the broth and tell him.
But then about ten minutes later, the door opened and Spock stepped back in.
“Hey. I…thought you might have left.”
“Negative. I was negotiating with Leonard about getting a bed brought in here so I could watch over you during the night.”
Jim blinked. “Yeah?”
“If you will allow it. I do not wish to leave but will if that is your choice.”
Jim lowered his gaze. “That’s not my choice.”
Bones came in with a bowl and a spoon. “I think you can handle a few noodles too.”
He placed it on a tray in front of Jim and before Jim could reach for the spoon, Spock picked up and got a spoonful ready for Jim.
He held it to Jim’s lips and Jim took the bite of noodles and broth.
Bones snorted but they both ignored him, eyes only for each other.
“Okay, I’ll check on you in a bit,” Bones announced as Spock fed Jim another spoonful. “They’ll be bringing in the bed shortly.”
“Thank you, Leonard,” Spock said.
And Bones left.
