Spirk (with a small dose of Pinto)

Hope it is a better November than it was for me last year. But with the election…well (that is all I intend to say here about that.)

This afternoon I have Jury Duty.

My kitty is recovering from surgery she had on Wednesday. She had 4 teeth pulled. Come to find out she has only 17 out of 30 teeth because 9 just fell out at some point. Oiye. She also had a lipoma on her head and that was removed and they put staples on her poor wee head. She has to wear a cone of shame. None of us are happy.

I’ll continue with the Spirk from the chess club this month. Who knows I may feature them part of the time in December.

Still writing my advent calendar stories but have made no progress.

And that’s it for now.

In a few short weeks, my WordPress subscription will come due for about $70. I need to decide if I’m renewing or shutting this down, finally.

This would mean no Christmas flashes up here this year if I canceled, but there would still be Christmas/Holiday stories on AO3.

Any thoughts or opinion?

This is one of those informational posts. So I’ve turned off comments so you don’t feel like you gotta comment.

I’m behind on the chess guys because I have decided I really need to move forward with the advent stories or I won’t move forward if you know what I mean. They aren’t due until sometime in November but I am a procrastinator of the highest order and with possibly 4 of them to write, well, I can’t afford to wait and be my usual unproductive self.

I did write a special flash for Halloween that is already scheduled to go on that day so go me! Otherwise the updates here and on A03 might be a bit sketchy. We’ll see. Like I said I have sort of made claim to 4 stories for the advent posts and I’d like to make a real effort to get them done.

In other news, if you live anywhere near where the hurricanes have been hitting, you have my tremendous sympathy and big hugs. And yet another one is heading Florida’s way. It’s horrible and I am sad for all of you going through it.

Happy October!

This is one of those dull update posts, so I apologize in advance.

Some of you may be having lovely fall weather. Not here. We are in the middle of an October heatwave. Ugh! Next several days in a row of hot hot hot. October is notoriously iffy here. But generally it is warm, though not HOT. Sigh.

Still working on those chess boys and hope to have a post up here this week. This is the time I start planning stories for the holidays. I am going to be working on a few for the Spirk Advent Calendar that I claimed ideas for. I will also be working on my individual Spirk Holiday story. There was a flash/one shot I did where Kirk had a child when he was young with someone from Tarsus. The mother didn’t survive but Kirk is raising their daughter. Bones was babysitting her and he was coming home with a doll she just had to have for Christmas when he ran into Spock. Anyway, I had some requests to expand that story so I am thinking of doing that. We’ll see for sure.

I’ll try to stay somewhat updated on other stories but this time of year is tough. I get dragged in different directions from family and life in general.

While we are on our cruise is early August, M’s aunt passed away. We knew she was sick but we thought we had more time. M got her Jeep Renegade which she bought in 2020. Long story short, M and M’s sister went to Idaho where aunt lived to settle a few things with her house in early September and drove the jeep back here for two days.

When the aunt owned it, it needed a new windshield as it had cracked, so in the process of registering it in California, M also had the windshield replaced Friday and was coming back an appointment Friday night and got into an accident with a motorcycle. M was fine but the cyclist was injured (foot) and had to be taken to the hospital. The jeep was pretty damaged and towed to a yard. So…we just don’t know what’s going to happen with that.

I went away afterward for the weekend so things are just still…I don’t know. So I hope things work out with this jeep. And good things start happening.

Happy Fall

I haven’t forgotten the continuation of this little chess playing story here. But it’s been a hell of a month.

Had to call the paramedics for M last night and even though alls well that ends well, I didn’t get home from that until late, and I’m pretty tired. I have updated a couple of stories on AO3. Plus I actually read two books for pleasure. That was nice.

So thanks again for your support and part 3 will come at some point (and perhaps a few other parts going on into September)

Wishing all my United States readers a Happy Independence Day (4th of July)

I am on temporary AO3 updating hiatus while I work on those Christmas in July flashes for here on the blog. I’d like to get them written and scheduled so I don’t have to be frantically scrambling to get something written.

So don’t expect any updates in AO3 until July.
